In the old days, Congress would try to hold back their looting and pillaging tendencies on the fears, (not unreasonable either), that people would say “Screw you, I’m outta here!” and renounce their citizenship. That ended back in 2008 when the laws were changed to assume that anyone renouncing their citizenship was doing so simply to avoid paying the extortionate levels of taxation imposed by the Government. Now, if you renounce your citizenship, or let your green card lapse, you are automatically presumed to be leaving so to avoid paying taxes.

Well Duh! Of COURSE people are doing this. What they should be asking is why are people doing this? Of course that would make sense and our so called representatives would look into fixing the problem. Do you think they will do that? Oh HELL NO!!

Recently, one of the founders of Facebook announced that he was surrendering his citizenship and moving to Singapore. He had been living there for a few years and due to the current tax climate, he decided to say Good Bye to Uncle Sam.

Eduardo Saverin, a naturalized citizen announced that he is going to renounce his citizenship and that he should save at least $67 million dollars in taxes. Here are a few details from the Washington Post:

May 16 (Bloomberg) — Facebook Inc. co-founder Eduardo Saverin will save at least $67 million in federal income taxes by dropping U.S. citizenship, according to a Bloomberg analysis of the company’s stock price. Those savings will keep growing if Facebook’s shares increase.

Saverin renounced his citizenship around September and he lives in Singapore, according to his spokesman, Tom Goodman. Saverin, 30, was part of a small group of Harvard University students who started the social networking site. He owns about 4 percent of the company, according to whoownsfacebook.com. The would-be savings underscore why more people are giving up U.S. citizenship before potential increases in taxes for the highest earners.

Of course this has set off one of the loudest mouths on Capitol Hill. From Fox News:

Senators target Facebook co-founder for giving up citizenship, seek to impose taxes

Two top senators went after Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin Thursday over his decision to renounce U.S. citizenship, unveiling a proposal they claim would bar him — or anyone — from de-friending the United States in order to avoid taxes.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who unveiled the proposal alongside Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., said their so-called “Ex-Patriot Act” would subject high-earning ex-Americans to a steep capital gains tax.

And here we see the typical arrogance of “Our Representatives.” Schumer, who has never met a tax hike he didn’t drool over, or a camera he didn’t want to have carnal knowledge with. Of course, he doesn’t see it that way.

“Saverin has turned his back on the country that welcomed and kept him safe, educated him and helped him become a billionaire,” Schumer said. “This is a great American success story gone horribly wrong .”

The bill was their answer to the move by Saverin last year to renounce his citizenship and move to Singapore. The decision, made public in a recently released IRS list, came ahead of Facebook’s initial public offering, and fueled speculation that Saverin cut ties with America in order to cut down his tax bill. Singapore does not impose capital gains taxes.

Those two idiots, of course, can’t see the real reason why Saverin and others are pulling the plug. Of course, in Schumer’s tiny little mind, all money belongs to the government and it is the government that knows best how to use it. Singapore, for instance, understands how taking to much money from people can “Kill the goose that laid the golden egg” as it were. There are other problems with Singapore, (caning punks¹ for keying cars is NOT one of those issues), but looting their citizens doesn’t seem to be one of them. Of course, since all Americans are the property of the State, we have no right to tell people like Schumer and Casey “That’s it, I’m out of here!” Nope, if you want to leave, this is a special privilege and you must pay for it. Schumer and Casey’s answer to this is:

The bill, though, could have repercussions far beyond Saverin’s portfolio. According to a 2011 report by the Taxpayer Advocate Service, about 4,000 people renounced their citizenship between fiscal 2005 and 2010, with the pace of renunciations increasingly rapidly in recent years.

The Schumer/Casey proposal would put the burden on anyone who renounces their citizenship to prove they didn’t do it for tax avoidance purposes. If they can’t prove that, Schumer said, the proposal would impose a 30 percent capital gains tax on future investment earnings — for those who have a $2 million net worth or have had an average income tax liability of at least $148,000 in recent years.

In addition, the bill would bar them from ever returning to the United States.

In other words. “We’ll show you ungrateful bastards! How DARE you think we would allow you to up and leave just because you have this silly notions that you have rights, and that your hard earned wealth actually belongs to you!” Of course, Saverin said this wasn’t the primary reason.

A spokesman for Saverin, though, told Fox Business Network the decision “had nothing to do with taxes.”

“Eduardo was born and raised in Brazil and moved to the U.S. in 1992, becoming a U.S. citizen in 1998. He still has very strong ties to Brazil and is extremely passionate about not only his homeland, but also the U.S.,” the spokesman said. “Eduardo recently found it to be more practical to become a resident of Singapore since he plans to live there for an indefinite period of time. He has invested in Asian, U.S. and European companies. He also plans to invest in Brazilian and global companies that have strong interests in entering the Asian markets.

Now I have a question. Why would it make sense to this guy to give up his hard won U.S. Citizenship? He may say it’s only for “logistical reasons” but I do think the ridiculous tax code played a large part of his decision. Upchuck Schumer is a little less subtle of course.

Schumer cast doubt on Saverin’s claims.

“Mr. Saverin says he’s a global citizen, but it just so happens that the country where he has chosen to reside has no capital gain tax,” he said. “This tax avoidance scheme is outrageous.”

No moron, what is outrageous is that Saverin and others are forced to take this step. For the last 30+ years, the actions of the United States government has been driving businesses and now people out of the country. Your answer isn’t to try and resolve the issues that are forcing them to leave, but rather to “double down on stupid.”

Schumer is and always has been a scumbag. He has no interest in the success of the United States, only in his own personal power and privileges. He is not alone in this sense of entitlement. It crosses both sides of the aisle. There’s a reason people refer to those in Washington as being members of the “Incumbent Party.” They no longer represent their constituents or their states. People have had enough. Some are taking the extreme measure of giving up their citizenship, while others are fighting back….and winning. Just ask soon to be former Senator, Richard Lugar. He will be retiring from the Senate due to ill health. The voter were sick of him.

It’s time for for the people of New York and Pennsylvania to get rid of these two scumsucking dirtbags. Schumer isn’t up this cycle but Casey is. With any luck he will be tossed on to the unemployment line where so many others are, thanks to policies of his and Schumer’s. These two, like so many others in congress think they are members of royalty and that we must bow down and worship them. (Primarily Democrats, but a fair number of Republicans think that way as well) They need to go and go soon.

Only there was a small issue for Al Qeda. The “Suicide Bomber” was in fact a double agent working for British Intelligence. This was a good thing of course. Not only was a bombing stopped, but we also got the bomb.

The problems began when the Obama administration started blowing their horns again. “Oh look at us! We saved the world! Isn’t Obama just astonishingly wonderful?” The person who leaked the story led the reporter to believe this was a CIA operation. The issue here is that the double agent wasn’t working for the CIA, he was working for MI6.¹ Additionally, the Saudi Arabian intelligence service was involved with this as well.

Here are a few details of this screw up. First, from the Investors Business Daily:

Don’t tell anyone, but that al Qaeda mole op had zero to do with the Obama administration

Someone in Washington whose boss stood to gain from an election year story about alert intelligence operatives successfully protecting American voters at great personal risk leaked the heroic story to the Associated Press. The AP held the story until Obama administration sources said the CIA operative was safe.

First, Associated with terrorists Press actually did the right thing by sitting on this until the agent was safe. Normally they would have blasted it out all over the internet. I suspect they also thought it was an authorized story as well. Guess again guys!

But, it turns out, the mole was not a CIA operative. The Obama administration had nothing to do with the operation and, in fact, didn’t even know about it until recently. Somehow such details got lost in all the excited espionage news coverage about the bomb that didn’t go off.

The sting was, in reality, an operation by Britain’s MI6 intelligence service (see photo above of its unassuming headquarters tucked away in an obscure corner of London). It used a Yemeni native with dual British and Saudi citizenship with the cooperation of Saudi Arabia’s intelligence service.

First, Many thanks to that brave agent for infiltrating that terrorist cell and stopping the bomb plot. Second, thanks to the British Intelligence service. (I guess Mr. Bond was otherwise occupied) However, the Brits were a bit annoyed with the current disaster administration’s handling of this.

And the folks overseas who actually conceived and executed the risky work are none too happy about their loose-lipped American cousins trying to bolster someone’s domestic political standing by leaking the story prematurely, destroying the agent’s cover and future usefulness. And possibly betraying that agent’s contacts within Yemen.

Obama doesn’t care about any of that. It’s all about him. There is no one else that matters in his pathetic excuse for a mind.

Without the excited U.S. news coverage, the agent, who reportedly did escape safely once word was flashed about the impending AP leak story, could have still been providing further intelligence on the location of al Qaeda leaders in Yemen, which resulted in only one successful drone strike before word got out, resulting in the explosive demise of senior leader Fahd al-Quso.

This is the second time a massive intelligence resource has been compromised by the SCoaMF and his minions. The last one was the huge haul of records and computers we got when the Navy Seals blew Bin Laden’s brains all over his bedroom wall.² Once the RIF’s heard that, they promptly changed their locations and plans. The same thing happened in the early days of the War on Terror when the New York Times reported that we were able to monitor Al Qeda’s cellphones by taping into the phone systems here. At the time, something like 75% or more of all phone calls were being routed through the United States. We were getting a treasure trove of information, right up until the Times blew the operation in a huff of phony outrage. Needless to say, the professionals were not happy with the SCoaMF and his group of idiots:

According to Britain’s Guardian, CIA professionals are furious at Obama administration officials for leaking the information for obvious political gain.

The newspaper reported: “Mike Scheur, the former head of the CIA’s Bin Laden unit, said the leaking about the nuts and bolts of British involvement was despicable and would make a repeat of the operation difficult. ‘MI6 should be as angry as hell. This is something that the prime minister should raise with the president.’”

No surprises there. Obama’s contempt and outright hatred of the British has done a huge amount of damage. Hopefully the next president will be able to correct things. Meanwhile, people in Congress are rather angry. Here’s a story on the Daily Caller about Diane Feinstein going on the warpath:

On this weekend’s “Fox News Sunday,” California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, spoke out about a story from the Associated Press that exposed a secret joint operation between the U.S. government and the Saudi government, which foiled an underwear bomb plot by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula.

According to the California Democrat, the leak is a serious one.

“A big one — this leak is serious,” she said. “This leak essentially — well, this operation — was closely held. It was CIA, FBI, Homeland Security and TSA. So, a limited number of people knew about it. General procedure would have the chairman and the vice chairman of each [of the] intelligence committees briefed during the attack, or prior to it. This was not the case, there was no briefing.”

Considering that the Obama administration doesn’t give a damn about anything but Obama, why would DiFi³ think for one moment that His Royal Highness, Emperor Barack the First would deign to inform the Oversight Committees that this was underway? It isn’t as if DiFi was going to leak it to the Times like another U.S. Senator *cough* Patrick Leahy *cough* has done when the mood struck him.⁴ DiFi was in no mood to be forgiving.

Whoever leaked the information, she said, should be prosecuted, because the leak jeopardized the government’s ability to fight terrorism.

“Apparently, the leak came to an AP reporter,” she continued. “The government called, asked that the story be held, the story was held until Monday and then was released. What this does, it certainly jeopardizes the asset. It certainly jeopardizes our ability to relate to other countries, for other countries to help us, and it gives a tip off to AQAP [al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula] to be more careful about who they use as their couriers, as their bombers. So, the leak really did endanger sources and methods, and the leak, I think, has to be prosecuted. So, the investigation is being done, [and] hopefully can be concluded, and criminal charges will go to the Department of Justice.”

I really don’t see that happening with the current Attorney General and the current Master of all he surveys President. After all, this sort of information would have to be leaked with the connivance of people way up in the food chain, such as a certain SCoaMF. Again, this may have to wait until after the Obamanation is retired in January. (I think President Romney is going to have a lot of house cleaning to do next January)

The Democrats in General and Obama in particular, have done enormous damage to the military and intelligence systems in the country. The Gestapo Department of Homeland Security under Janet Incompetano Napolitano has spent more of it’s time spying on American citizens inside the United States than on Islamic Terrorists outside who want to get inside and kill us. Under Obama the entire law enforcement system has been aimed at people who criticize the SCoaMF instead of real criminals.

No wonder our former allies have started refusing to talk to us anymore.

Obama needs to go.

Recently George Will said on ABC’s This Week that

“If you struck from Barack Obama’s vocabulary the first-person singular pronoun, he would fall silent, which would be a mercy to us and a service to him, actually,” Will continued. “Because he was been so incontinent for the last three years that you wind up with, as you said, [an] Ohio State University with empty seats.”

George Will didn’t know the half of it when he made that statement. It’s come out in the last couple of days that Obama has had the White House web page listing all the presidents altered to include him in the other presidents biographies. The first altered entry appears to be that of President Calvin Coolidge under the heading of “Did you know?”

Here is the entry:

On Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people. President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Now that is straightforward and an accurate historical record. What does this have to do with that SCoaMF?

President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.

Oh it gets better. Not to be left out, The Wookie Moocher Michelle Obama has been added to Herbert Hoover’s entry:

And this is in the process of breaking the budget. Of course, Obama just HAD to top that disaster with an even bigger one:

Obamacare, as we all know, was rammed down the throats of the American People, is about to be declared unconstitutional and is nothing less than a totalitarian power grab by the Democrats. So who is the next victim president to be insulted by Obama? Why that would be Richard M. Nixon. I’m actually surprised that the most corrupt president in history would want to be associated with the second most corrupt president. Still, here’s the entry:

In 1973, Richard Nixon created The President’s Export Council, which was expanded and reconstituted under President Jimmy Carter in 1979.

Yeah, Nixon is responsible for a pretty big increase in the size of government. Of course, Obama had to get his two cents in:

The only thing the ScoaMF’s has been exporting is jobs…to China. Now the next entry should be Gerald R. Ford, but lets face it. He didn’t accomplish much so there wasn’t anything noteworthy for Obama to horn in on. That brings us to the second most incompetent president in US history, Jimmy Carter:

And this is an agency that is absolutely useless and needs to be shut down. So, do you think Obama would do that? Think again:

In other words, shut down all coal and oil production and hand billions of taxpayer dollars to to all of Obama’s cronies. Can we say Solyndra?³ Sure we can!

This brings us to the greatest president of the 20^th century, the man who brought down the Soviet Empire without firing a shot, Ronald Wilson Reagan! This one had two entries, not just one entry that all the others have.

The first one:

President Reagan designated Martin Luther King Jr. Day a national holiday.

To which the Dog eater in chief added:

Today the Obama Administration honors this tradition, with the First and Second Families participating in service projects on this day.

In other words, Obama went to the golf course, Michelle Obama flew to Spain or someplace, and Biden went to a target range to practice shooting his mouth off. Now for the second entry:

In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary.

Funny, I don’t recall President Reagan saying that. He wanted to lower taxes across the board as well as simplify them. So what did the liar have to say?

Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.

Horse Hockey! The only thing that communist wants to do is steal every single penny that people earn and give it to his cronies. Warren Buffett is a complete hypocrite. He could easily write a check to the treasury and assuage his guilt. Or, he could try paying the $1 BILLION dollars he already owes!⁴

This brings us to George HW. Bush, aka Bush 1. There really isn’t much of an entry here. Nothing about Bush’s accomplishments. The entry is all about Obama:

Look at me! I’m wonderful! I gave George Bush a medal! Aren’t I wonderful and nonpartisan? What a putz. And speaking of putz’s, this brings is to the “Silver Zipper” William Jefferson Clinton:

Continuing his work as a lifelong public service, Clinton created the Clinton Foundation in 2001 to improve global health, education, economies and environments.

Actually, Clinton created this foundation as a way to meet girls. So what to Barack have to say?

Affectionately calling him “Do-Gooder-in-Chief”, President Obama has worked with Clinton to make buildings in our country more efficient—announcing a $4 billion investment in energy efficiency upgrades for commercial buildings.

Ahh yes, more taxpayer money for Democratic Cronies. This brings us to George Walker Bush, aka Bush 2. (Among the many other epithets) You would think that Obama, who spends all his time blaming Bush for all his own inadequacies as a president, man and human being, would have ignored Bush’s biography. You would have thought incorrectly:

In 2002, President George W. Bush’s State of the Union was the first to be live broadcast on the Internet.

Which I didn’t watch. I was still on dial up back then. If I watched the State of the Union, it was to see what we were going to do against Al Qeda and the Taliban. So what dis the ScoaMF have to add?

President Obama’s State of the Union speeches were available in an enhanced live stream version that featured infographics, charts and data side-by-side in real time with the President’s speech.

And was roundly ignored by pretty much everyone. Most people only tune in to see what the next “Big Lie” will be.

This whole thing is unbelievable. It just goes to show what a totally classless POS this alleged man is. This is narcissism taken to a new level. You know, I wonder if this might reach the level of an impeachable offense, so to speak. Not for high crimes and misdemeanors, (Lord knows there’s enough to toss Obama in a supermax for decades), but for serious mental illness. This level of delusional thinking is terrifying, especially when the sufferer has the ability to launch nuclear weapons.

So, here’s a question for the comments section. How long before Obama and his minions conclude that these entries were a bad idea and scrub the site? Or do you think it will have to wait until the next administration, (The one run by grownups) comes in and cleans up this mess?

The out of control spending in California on top of the bad economy has caused the deficit out there to just about double. Here are a few details from the New York Times:

The state budget shortfall in California has increased dramatically in the last six months, forcing state officials to assemble a series of new spending cuts that are likely to mean further reductions to schools, health care and other social programs already battered by nearly five years of budget retrenchment, state officials announced on Saturday.

You will notice there’s no mention about cutting useless and wasteful bureaucracies and getting rid of some of the overpaid hacks in “management” out there. Nope, the first thing Governor Moonbat, (Formally known as Governor Moonbeam) is cut things that are actually needed. Of course, since this is the People’s Republic of California, the first thing Moonbat wants to do is raise taxes. From Bloomberg:

Brown this week submitted more than 1.5 million signatures to place the tax measure on the ballot. It would temporarily raise the state sales tax, already the highest in the U.S., to 7.5 percent from 7.25 percent. It would also boost rates on income starting at $250,000. The 10.3 percent levy on those making $1 million or more would rise to 13.3 percent, the most of any state.

The first thing Liberals, Progressives, Socialists and Democrats do when they run out of money is steal more from people who actually work for a living. Of course, if these hikes go into effect, a lot more people won’t be working in California, and will probably leave the state. Here’s more from the New York Times:

State officials said the shortfall was a result of disappointing revenue collections in April as California continued to struggle to pull out of the recession. “We are still recovering from the worst recession since the 1930s,” Mr. Brown said.

No, California isn’t recovering. They are going deeper and deeper into the hole. The entire budget mess is their own fault. Businesses are leaving the state because of the tax and regulatory climate. I recall about 10 years ago, Intel was looking to expand it’s chip manufacturing base. They decided not to expand any of their plants in California. It was just to expensive to operate out there, and it’s gotten a lot worse, not better. Even Hollywood has been making a fair number of not most of their movies in other states.

One of the biggest wastes of money is the California High-Speed Rail system. This is also known as “Governor Moonbeam’s toy Choo Choo set.” This fiasco on rails was part of the Obama stimulus failure and is slated to cost $60-100 Billion dollars and will never make money. Governor Moonbat absolutely will not consider abandoning the project even though his OWN RAIL AUTHORITY says it will be a colossal, costly failure.

Already a number of cities and towns have filed for bankruptcy. Most of these failures were due to the incredibly generous contracts and pensions given to city employees. Thanks to the powerful unions, the various city treasuries have been looted. The unions will not back down from this and are demanding even MORE money! Bankruptcy is the only way the locals can repudiate the contracts.

What we are seeing here is a good 30 years of incompetent administration and a government that is run by people who literally have no grasp of economics. All the idiots running California care about is doing things that make them feel good and look good. They do not have the guts to do what has to be done to keep the state from essentially sliding into the Pacific. Frankly, there is really no hope for California. The only way to fix the structural mess is to strip California of its statehood, remove all government officials, both elected and appointed, and appoint a governor general to try and pull California back from the abyss. I also think that California is to large and needs to be broken up into several smaller states.

California and the Moonbat contingent are no doubt planning on putting the arm on the rest of the country to bail them out. This will go over like a lead balloon. Way to many states, (Surprisingly, most of them are Blue States), are also in big trouble. The states that aren’t to bad off, like Texas, will flat out refuse to do anything for states that have run themselves into the ground.

We are witnessing the first failed state in the United States. When it goes under, it’s going to be a nightmare.

It turns out there was a permissions issue with one of the folders in the Windows directory. I’m still not sure how this happened, but some of the required permissions were missing. Finding out this was the problem took a little doing. I ended up Googling the error codes I was seeing and going through the various links until I found one that made sense. In this case I found the answer at answers.microsoft.com. (Where else?)

One of the posters came up with several solutions.

Method 1

Unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. On the “Start” menu, click “Run.
2. In the “Open” box, type “msiexec /unreg”, and then press ENTER.
3. On the “Start” menu, click “Run”.
4. In the “Open” box, type “msiexec /regserver”, and then press ENTER.

Now I didn’t use this method. I used the following method to correct the error.

Method 2

Check permissions within the Installer folder. To do this, follow these steps.

1. Click on Start and in the Start Search bar > type in > c: /windows/installer.
2. Right click on c: /windows/installer at the top under programs and click properties.
3. Click on the security tab > Verify if System and Administrator account has Full access permissions.
4. The Everyone account should have read and execute permissions, List Folder Contents, and Read.

Now, when I did this and reset the permissions as specified I was able to install the upgrades I needed on Stupid Moron’s The Angry Webmaster’s system.

So, what might have caused this issue? One possibility is a virus, however both the Webmaster and myself tend to be very careful about that. While researching the problem I did see another forum listing the same issues with Skype upgrades. The Webmaster does use Skype, (Primarily Mrs. Webmaster uses it), and I’m wondering if the recent update might have broken something.

Now, one issue I did have was not being able to find the Windows Installer folder. As most people will do, they first thing I did was use Windows Explorer to dig through the Windows directory. Apparently I wasn’t the only one seeing a problem with this. I ended up using a third party file manager, (In this case ExplorerXP), and I was able to find and reset the permissions with this tool. I also verified that Free Commander would also see it. Both applications are free and Free Commander is available at Portableapps.com.

Oh well, all that matters is the issue has been corrected. Hopefully, if you have run into the same problem, this will help you out as well.

As usual, I went to Chunky’s, my personal favorite theater. I was smart enough to get there a good 40 minutes early since the movie did sell out. I didn’t go to the 3D version since I really don’t like the 3D glasses you have to wear. The additional cost was also a factor. The 2D version was just fine for me.

As usual, I also ordered dinner. I had my usual steak tips and a large 22oz Sam Adams Seasonal. This is usually more than I drink, but since the movie was over 2 hours plus the time I was waiting for it to start, I figured I wouldn’t have any real problems.¹ As I waited for my order, the theater filled up…FAST! When one of the staff members came by counting open seats, I commented to her that “A full house is a happy bank balance.” She found that amusing and laughed.

The movie started as I was finishing up my meal. I still had half a glass of beer and I nursed that through the movie. Now, be advised there WILL be spoilers and I won’t be bothered from this point forward in noting them. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

The first thing you need to do is check your logic at the door. The things they do in this movie would normally get everyone killed. Som where to begin? How about at the beginning?

Being the lazy sort, I’m using Wikipedia for a lot of the plot information.

The Asgardian Loki encounters the Other, the leader of a warmongering alien race known as the Chitauri. In exchange for retrieving the Tesseract, a powerful energy source of unknown potential, the Other promises Loki a Chitauri army with which he can subjugate the Earth. Nick Fury, director of the espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D., arrives at a remote research facility during an evacuation, where physicist Dr. Erik Selvig is leading a research team experimenting on the Tesseract. Agent Maria Hill explains that the object has begun radiating an unusual form of energy. The Tesseract suddenly activates and opens a portal, allowing Loki to reach Earth. Loki takes the Tesseract and uses his staff to enslave Selvig and several agents, including Clint Barton, to aid him in his getaway.

At this point it’s time to start putting together the Avengers team. It starts out with Natalia Romanova, aka Black Widow, strapped to a chair and being interrogated by some bad guys. Natalia was last seen, (and introduced), in Iron Man 2. During the beating, one of the criminal’s cellphone rings. The call is for Natalia and instructs her that she is needed elsewhere. She promptly beats the crap out of everyone there and heads off to her new assignment, getting Dr. David Banner, aka “The Hulk,” who is hiding in India and helping the poor. Natalia convinces him to help locate Loki and the Tesseract even though Banner has some serious anger management issues.

While Natalia was looking for Banner, SHIELD agent Phil Coulson goes to see Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, and gives him the briefing papers about what was happening and asking him to join the Avengers. Stark is rather reticent about this but his assistant/girlfriend Pepper Potts is very please to see Agent Coulson and talks Tony into going.

Director Nick Fury goes to visit Captain Steve Rogers, aka “Captain America,” who has been at loose ends since being revived 70 years out of time. Fury gives him a mission and Rogers, of course, signs up. (Hey, he’s a real hero people) Rogers heads off to Germany with Stark to confront Loki and retrieve the Tesseract. Loki is raising holy hell at some sort of gathering and comes out and demands the crowd bow to him. One man refuses and Loki is about to make an example of him when Captain America arrives.

Loki starts the fun by firing an energy blast at “Cap” which bounces off his shield and knocks Loki for a loop. Cap and Loki go at it and Captain America is not doing well. At this point, Stark, now in his armor arrives and also takes on Loki. His weapons and armor allow him to go toe to toe with Loki. Loki then surrenders and just as he’s about to be taken away, is grabbed by Thor who has just arrived. Stark goes after them and as Thor is telling Loki he has to go back to Asgaard, gets hit by Stark and knocked over.

They start pounding on each other with lots of really cool effects. They finally figure out they shouldn’t be fighting each other and take Loki back to the SHIELD aircraft carrier. Now this carrier is able to fly and takes off and cloaks its self. Loki is locked into a special cell that was originally designed for the Hulk.

Meanwhile, our Heroes are in a lab talking about to deal with Loki and find the Tesseract. They also discover that Fury has been using the technology they’ve discovered from studying the Tesseract to make weapons. The group starts arguing loudly among themselves, (Think massive overdose of testosterone) when Clinton Barton, aka Hawkeye, who had been brainwashed by Loki when he first arrived, leads an attack on the carrier. He fires an arrow with an explosive tip and disables one of the engines.

They then board the carrier and start working their way through to Loki. The Avengers suit up and start moving to deal with the intruders. Natalia is leading David Banner to a safe area in order to keep him from transforming into the Hulk. Unfortunately they are intercepted and both of them were dropped to another deck. This is enough to start Banner’s transformation into the Hulk. He promptly starts rampaging through the carrier, causing even more damage.

Eventually he gets into it with Thor and the Hulk falls out of the carrier. There’s lots more action, with Captain America and Iron Man trying to restart the damaged engine so they don’t crash and die. While all this is going on. Hawkeye frees Loki and Thor ends up trapped in the special cell. Loki bushes the button and drops the cell out of the carrier sending Thor to his doom. (You know that isn’t going to happen) He manages to break out at the last second. Iron man and Captain America manage to get the engine restarted and the carrier lands safely in the water. Hawkeye is beaten senseless by Natalia and captured. She manages to restore his free will.

Agent Phil Coulson confronts Loki with one of the new weapons but is knifed in the back, mortally injuring him. He manages to get a shot off which knocks Loki for a loop. Loki escapes. Fury finds Coulson and tries to keep him alive until medical help arrives, but fails. Fury uses Coulson’s death to unite the Avengers. Stark and Rogers realize that simply defeating them will not be enough for Loki; he needs to overpower them publicly to validate himself as ruler of Earth. Loki uses the Tesseract, in conjunction with a device Selvig built, to open a portal above Stark Tower to the Chitauri fleet in space, launching his invasion.

Stark gets into his damaged suit and heads back to Stark Tower. He spots Loki and rather then try and attack him, lands and removes his armor and heads to the bar. Loki comes in and Stark offers him a drink which Loki turns down. While talking with Loki he slips on a pair of bracelets and in the typical Stark manner, starts insulting Loki. Loki attempts to brainwash Stark with his spear, but when he taps Starks chest, he hits the arc reactor and isn’t able to do so. He then throws Stark out the window and as he flies out, Stark tells his computer to activate the new armor which flies after him. Stark is able to don the suit just before he hits the street.

Now the big battle for New York begins, and it’s a doosey. Aliens come pouring through the now opened portal and the Avengers begin fighting back. Even David Banner joins in by allowing the Hulk to take over. At one point, Captain America turns to the Hulk and says “Hulk? SMASH!” which the Hulk does with great abandon.

At one point, Hulk goes after Loki and confronts him in Stark’s apartment. Loki starts telling the Hulk he is a god and there is nothing anyone can do to stop him. This is where one of the most hilarious parts of the movie happens. The Hulk grabs Loki by one ankle and just starts wailing him back and forth literally pounding him into the cement. During this segment, the theater audience wasn’t so much cheering as laughing hysterically, which I think was the whole idea.

As the battle continues, Natalia reaches the roof with the tesseract generator. She can’t get to it due to the force field surrounding it. Dr. Selvig regains his senses and tells her that he has built in a back door to the device and that Loki’s spear can get through the field and shut down the doorway.

While this is going on, the people running SHIELD, the ones Nick Fury reports to, decide to launch a nuclear strike on New York in hopes of closing the portal and stopping the invasion. Fury is aghast at this and tries to stop it. He refuses the order to launch the strike. The committee relieves him and orders the launch. Fury shoots down one of the planes but the other gets away and launches a missile. Stark, in a badly damaged armor suit races to intercept the missile, grabs it and redirects it through the portal. He aims it at the alien station and watches as it hits and destroys it. The Avengers watdch and wait for Stark to come back through the portal, but his suit has failed and shut down. He is slowly drifting to the portal. Finally the order is given and Natalia pushes Loki’s spear through the field and shuts down the portal. As it collapses, Stark fall through it and is caught by the Hulk.

Basically this is the end of the film, but of course this is a Marvel film so there’s always more aftee the credits. In the first of two post-credits scenes, the Other confers with his master about the attack on Earth. The second scene is of the Avengers eating silently in a shawarma restaurant.

So there you have it. Now, this movie was a bit weak on the plot, but you know what? I don’t care! The logic and science had holes in it so big you could drive a supertanker through it. Guess what? I don’t CARE!! I liked this movie and I heartily recommend it. In fact, it’s now on my list of “MUST BUY” DVD’s, and I will be pre-ordering it as soon as it’s available. Go see this movie. See it now!

Moving the convention our of North Carolina at this late date will be a disaster. Contracts will have to be paid off, a new venue, complete with Greek columns, will have to located and booked, and all the logistical details will have to be completely redone. This would not be cheap and the Democrats are already having money problems this year and moving will be very expensive.

It couldn’t happen to a nice bunch of Politically Correct idiotic moonbats.

So wha’s the story with all this talk of moving the convention? Well there’s always been a bit of stress with regards to Obama and his minions choosing North Carolina, mostly due to North Carolina being a “Right to Work” state. The Unions HATE not being able to force people into their unions which is exactly what the Right to work laws intended. Now, the big reason is Gay Marriage. Tuesday North Carolina had an election and one of the questions on the ballot was an amendment to their constitution preventing gay marriage and civil unions. It passed overwhelmingly. This has sent the Communist Democrat party base into a tizzy. A petition has been put out there demanding that the convention be moved to a more politically appropriate site.

Here’s a few details on the fun and games in the party of Moonbats. The article, written by George E. Condon Jr. of the National Journal says:

Democrats who already were queasy about the site of their national convention could be excused after Tuesday’s election in North Carolina if they asked, “Tell me again just why we’re going to Charlotte this year?” In fact, many Democrats privately are asking exactly that after the state’s voters overwhelmingly approved a measure outlawing not just same-sex marriage — which already was illegal in North Carolina — but also any form of civil unions. Almost immediately after the vote, more than 20,000 people signed a “move the convention” petition being pushed by a New York group called Gay Marriage USA. And Twitter accounts lit up with hundreds of angry tweets demanding the party pull out of Charlotte.

Heeheehee, HAHAHAHA! *chortle* Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. The Progressive chickens are coming home to roost and they are doing their impression of seagulls. They’ve come in, making a lot of noise and they are about to start crapping on everything…Sort of like the Occupy Space and Waste Oxygen crowd. Come to think of it, this IS the OSWO crowd, right down to using a police car as a puvlic latrine.

And it’s not as if things were going swimmingly for convention organizers before Tuesday’s vote. Fundraising was lagging with the Democrats’ decision not to accept money from corporations, making it much more difficult to reach the needed $36.6 million. That led to more pressure on labor unions to pony up. But they would rather spend their money on grassroots efforts and are still miffed that the party decided to go to a “right to work” state and a city with few unionized hotels.

You can add to the mix an unpopular Democratic governor who has decided not to run for another term, likely handing the statehouse to the Republicans. And don’t forget a messy sexual harassment scandal that has forced the state Democratic Party’s executive director to resign and left the party chairman with no choice but to step down with a new chairman slated to be elected on Saturday.

In other words, Situation Normal, All Fucked Up! Standard operating procedures for the Party of Incompetence. (As opposed to the Party of Stupid. That would be Republicans)

And, oh yes, there is the fact that President Obama will be accepting his nomination with a speech at the unfortunately named Bank of America Stadium, an occasion that will lead to a run of stories about the $45 billion that the banking powerhouse received in the unpopular TARP bailout. And there will be mentions of the bank’s inclusion on the list of mortgage companies where staffers signed foreclosure documents without verifying the information on them.

I have to ask. What Wile E. Coyote type super genius thought that North Carolina would be the perfect spot for a convention? Who else was in the running?

What’s not to love about a Charlotte convention? When the city beat out the other finalists — Cleveland, Minneapolis and St. Louis — it used the slogan “Charlotte in 2012: Reaching for Tomorrow.” The challenge for Democrats now is to try to forget a pretty messy Today.

All those other cities would have been a far more reliable venue for the Nomination of Barack Hussein “Dog Devourer” Obama. North Carolina is hurting economically and although the ScoaMF did win there in 2008, it was a very narrow victory. The McStupid/PALIN!! ticket came very close and probably would have won if McStuid hadn’t lived up to his name.

So, what should we do to help this move along? Sign the petition? Scream, rant, rave and act like juvenile imbeciles typical Democrats? After all, this could be Operation Chaos, version 2. Personally, I feel we MUST do everything we can to help the Democrats completely trash their convention.
