The Great Panicdemic of 2020: Idiotic Governors

Good day all. Since the China Virus took hold, and the Great Panicdemic of 2020 kicked off, a number of state governors have issued orders locking down their states. By this, I mean closing business they don’t consider vital and telling people to stay at home.

Aside from the economic damage these orders, in general, are causing, there are a few governors who have gone completely off the rails, not only issuing the lock down orders, but in some cases, ordering doctors and pharmacists not to use the various anti-malarial and other older drugs that seem to be helping Covid-19 patients who are desperately ill. The two governors who decided they were better equipped to make medical decisions are from Nevada and Michigan.

In Nevada, Gov. Steve Sisolak issued an order denying these potentially life saving, if still being tested, medicines, to anyone who is sick from the China Virus. Here are some of those details from the New York Post:

Nevada’s governor on Tuesday banned the use of anti-malaria drugs chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine to treat coronavirus patients.

Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak’s executive order came after President Trump touted the medication as holding promise for combating the illness. Sisolak said there was no consensus among experts or Nevada doctors that the drugs can treat people with COVID-19.

The first indications that these drugs might be effective in treating the Wuhan Flu came out of France. A doctor came up with the idea and the indications were that not only did it appear to significantly reduce the time people were sick, it might also work as a means of preventing people who test positive, but are not yet sick, from being contagious. Now other doctors around the world are trying out the drugs to see if they work and from what I’ve seen, there does seem to be good results.

However, Sisolak has decided, in his medical opinion, that these potential treatments for the China Virus are a complete waste of time and will not be permitted to be sued beyond what they are currently prescribed for.

His order also limits a prescription of the medicines — which are also used to treat illnesses like lupus and arthritis — to a 30-day supply to ensure it’s available for “legitimate medical purposes” and so people don’t stockpile the drug.

No one is “Stockpiling” these drugs other then pharmacies and hospitals. They can only be acquired by prescription by a doctor, and they are dangerous if you take more then the recommended dose. The good news about these drugs is that they have been around for decades and recommended dosages are very well known.

Sisolak’s order came a day after a Phoenix-area man died and his wife was in critical condition after taking an additive used to clean fish tanks called chloroquine phosphate, similar to the drug used to treat malaria.

So, is this meat head also going to ban fish tank cleaners? I read about these two, and I have just one observation. Stupidity kills. If you do something like that and you die, well, it sucks to be you. They might have tried reading the actual ingredients and comparing them with the actual medicines. Normal people would have noticed that the names were different and done a bit more research, like calling their doctor.

This brings us to the second totalitarian wannabe governor, Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan. She decided to top Governor Sisolak’s order by flat out threatening doctors and pharmacists if they prescribed or filled prescriptions for these drugs. Here are the details from the Washington Times:

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has come under criticism for a statewide order cracking down on prescriptions of hydroxychloroquine, a drug touted by President Trump to treat the novel coronavirus.

The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs issued an order Wednesday warning physicians against writing prescriptions “without a legitimate medical purpose” and instructing pharmacists to evaluate the “legitimacy” of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine prescriptions.

And what was this cow’s reasoning, or what passes for reasoning in the mind of a Progressive Liberal Democratic CommuNazi?

The department cited concerns about stockpiling amid “multiple allegations” of doctors writing prescriptions for family and friends, adding that reports of such conduct “may be further investigated for administrative action” and that other health professionals are required to report “inappropriate prescribing practices.”

Let’s start with a few details regarding doctors and the drugs they prescribe. Most drugs are aimed at specific illnesses, but they can also be found to work in treating other illnesses. The FDA recognizes this and lets doctors prescribe drugs that may not have been formally tested for that specific illness. The doctors will make extensive notes that will aid the drug companies in testing their medicines for other diseases. Since the dosages are already known, doctors trying these drugs already know how much they can give to a patient.

What is actually happening is politics. Both Sisolak and Whitmer are Democrats and they hate President Trump. Anything that President Trump says or recommends, they want to stop. President Trump, like all of us, heard about the French doctors trying these drugs, along with the South Koreans and others. (Apparently even the Chinese are using it)

Kathy Hoekstra, who previously worked for Republican businessman Herman Cain, accused Ms. Whitmer of putting patients at risk with her administration’s “knee-jerk scare tactics.”

[I]f you live in Michigan, and you or a loved one is infected with this potentially lethal disease, you’re out of luck,” said Kathy Hoekstra, who has written for conservative, in a Thursday op-ed for the Detroit News. “Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs literally threatened all doctors and pharmacists in the state who prescribe or dispense hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19.”

Here’s the thing. It seems that a resident in Michigan, who was critically ill with the WooHoo Flu, was given these drugs by his doctor, and the results were remarkable.

RedState’s Elizabeth Vaughn cited a Facebook post by a Michigan man, Transportation Improvement Association CEO Jim Santilli, who credited hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin with saving his life after being hospitalized for COVID-19.

For Gov. Whitmer to deny Michigan residents access to one of the only treatments that has shown promise in helping patients with coronavirus is unfair,” said Ms. Vaughn. “She’s playing with people’s lives. To treat these patients and their physicians as criminals is unconscionable.”

The excuse used by the Michigan licensing bureau is nothing more then a load of horse manure.

The Michigan agency said that hydroxychloroquine, a drug commonly used for malaria and lupus, has not “scientifically or medically proven” to treat COVID-19, while critics noted that doctors often prescribed drugs off-label, and that studies and clinical trials are still underway for the new virus that triggered a pandemic.

The China Virus has only been generally known since January. I believe the first instances of using these drugs happened in February. There is extensive testing going on now. For this agency to threaten doctors and pharmacists like this is nothing less then the actions of a tyrannical government that is putting politics ahead of people’s lives.

I am of the opinion that both Sisolak and Whitmer should be removed from office immediately. The reason is simple, By their actions, they are demonstrating that they are a physical threat to lives and safety of the people in the states of Nevada and Michigan. That both are probably going to be thrown out of office when their next elections come up is a given. However, I think that the threat these two constitute to the health and safety of their respective states may warrant criminal charges. Right off the bat, practicing medicine without a license, and if someone dies because of their orders, and it’s later found that they could have been saved, murder.
