The Great Panicdemic of 2020: New Hampshire now rebelling against the mask tyrants

Good day all. A few weeks ago the City of Nashua decided to make everyone wear masks,”For their own good.” This includes yours truly, The Angry Webmaster, along with everyone at Anger Central.

The city announced there would be a $1000 fine if you didn’t comply. To date, a large number of people are not complying and I have not heard anything about fines being issued. (Probably due to a large number of people grumbling and muttering about Article 10 under their breaths) I was arguing about this with several coworkers at my Real World Job. My manager agrees with me in most things, (Which is scary all by itself), but some of the younger members of the team of gone full Paranoid Germophobe Hypochondriac and wear masks everywhere and won’t go out of their homes.

I told them that there was a good chance this would be challenged in court, and now it has, along with the Governor’s emergency declarations. Here are some of the details from CBS Boston:

Gov. Chris Sununu’s executive order renewing New Hampshire’s state of emergency was challenged in a virtual hearing Thursday, (June 18th) morning.

The point of the shutdown was to prevent our hospitals from being overrun with COVID,” said Robert Fojo, attorney for Nashua resident Andrew Cooper. “Our curve always remained flat. We didn’t even need to flatten it.”

This is actually very accurate. We only had a couple of confirmed thousand cases, and I believe less then 300 people sadly, passed away. Of those, most were elderly or had preexisting conditions. It’s also believed that a few larger number of people had the China Virus, but never knew it. (We believe it hit my Real World Office last January)

Fojo argued that emergency measures that appeared to be constitutionally appropriate months ago – like shutting down schools and the economy – are no longer appropriate.

Which is true. In fact, there is some questions regarding Sununu’s original order to destroy the State’s economy. However, the Governor and Solicitor general have other ideas.

Many of us have disagreements with public officials on many things,” said Solicitor General Daniel Will, “but, as the U.S. Supreme Court emphasized, this is an area we entrust to our elected officials who are charged with the protection and safety of our citizens.”

It isn’t just the state’s actions, Mr. Fojo is also going after the City of Nashua’s order to wear masks or else.

Cooper’s attorney also challenged the latest Nashua city ordinance, which requires the use of face masks.

This ordinance is ridiculously intrusive,” Fojo said.

It requires a mask in places where someone is likely to come within 6 feet of another person,” said the city’s attorney, Steve Bolton.

I like to walk around Nashua, and I can safely say, this ordinance is being ignored. More and more people are walking outside, now that the weather has warmed up and I doubt more then 10-15% are wearing masks, or if they are, they have them hanging around their necks. Of course, the City attorney defended the actions of the leftists running the city. According to WMUR:

Nashua city counsel Steven Bolton said the city has the statutory authority to order mask wearing to deal with an overriding public concern.

“The Nashua citizenry is at risk,” Bolton said. “The face-covering ordinance reduces that risk.”

It would have helped their case if one of the power mad morons hadn’t said, for the record, (Now flushed down the memory hole), that “People on the right will oppose this ordinance.” That statement right there is all you need to see to understand that it was never about health, it was about power over the people.

This is why a fair number of people are muttering about Article 10 of the New Hampshire State Constitution:

Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

You can see why most of the political hacks want people to forget about that part of the New Hampshire State Constitution. It’s basically a declaration of “Open season, no limit” on government officials. It’s never been used and, hopefully, will never need to be used. At the moment, people are willing to let the legal system work.

As for wearing a mask? Feel free. I won’t stop you. Just remember that they’re about as effective at stopping a virus as a chain link fence is at stopping a mosquito. If you want to stop a virus, you need a full hazmat mask with a self contained air supply. The cloth and paper masks being used are meant to stop heavy particles that you generate when you cough or sneeze into the mask. An airborne virus will slip between the fibers.

As for Sununu? Politically he may be jumping the shark. The only reason he might win reelection this year is that the Democrats, (He is a Republican), are flat out totalitarians. Their antics in the state legislature, many of which were blocked by Sununu, would have triggered article 10. Well, we’ll see what happens in November. As for the masks? I have a nice trash receptacle to place them in.
