Who needs coffee when you have the Drudge Report? Here I am, just waking up and what do I see on The Drudge Report? A big headline that says “EPA OFFICIAL: ‘CRUCIFY’ OIL & GAS COMPANIES” which links to a story where some jerk EPA bureaucrat accidentally lets the cat out of the bag.
In a story by Craig Bannister of CNSNEWS.COM, EPA official, Region VI Administrator Al Armendariz admitted that the EPA’s general philosophy is to “crucify” and “make examples” of oil and gas companies. This isn’t some conspiracy story by the tin foil hat brigade either. Armendariz was stupid enough to let this be recorded and now it’s up on YouTube.
This video was done about 2 years ago and apparently was missed by most people. Well guess what? What appears on the internet, STAYS on the internet. According to the cnsnews story:
Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) took to the Senate floor today to draw attention to a video of a top EPA official saying the EPA’s “philosophy” is to “crucify” and “make examples” of oil and gas companies – just as the Romans crucified random citizens in areas they conquered to ensure obedience.
And here we have the mindset of the typical EPA bureaucrat. They aren’t there to serve the citizens, the citizens are there to serve the bureaucrats.
The audio on this isn’t great, but cnsnews put up a few choice quotes.
In the video, Administrator Armendariz says:
“I was in a meeting once and I gave an analogy to my staff about my philosophy of enforcement, and I think it was probably a little crude and maybe not appropriate for the meeting, but I’ll go ahead and tell you what I said:
“It was kind of like how the Romans used to, you know, conquer villages in the Mediterranean. They’d go in to a little Turkish town somewhere, they’d find the first five guys they saw and they’d crucify them.
“Then, you know, that town was really easy to manage for the next few years.”
“It’s a deterrent factor,” Armendariz said, explaining that the EPA is following the Romans’ philosophy for subjugating conquered villages.
This mindset of Armendariz is typical of Progressive Liberals everywhere.
Soon after Armendariz touted the EPA’s “philosophy,” the EPA began smear campaigns against natural gas producers, Inhofe’s office noted in advance of today’s Senate speech:
“Not long after Administrator Armendariz made these comments in 2010, EPA targeted US natural gas producers in Pennsylvania, Texas and Wyoming.
I wrote about why we should close the EPA a few years ago, and during my followups, I discovered that this petty little Hitler wannabe had, for all intents and purposes, declared war on the state of Texas. Armendariz wanted shut down the oil industry in Texas and Texas wasn’t about to roll over for him. Now we know why this was happening.
“In all three of these cases, EPA initially made headline-grabbing statements either insinuating or proclaiming outright that the use of hydraulic fracturing by American energy producers was the cause of water contamination, but in each case their comments were premature at best – and despite their most valiant efforts, they have been unable to find any sound scientific evidence to make this link.”
In his Senate speech, Sen. Inhofe said the video provides Americans with “a glimpse of the Obama administration’s true agenda.”
That agenda, Inhofe said, is to “incite fear” in the public with unsubstantiated claims and “intimidate” oil and gas companies with threats of unjustified fines and penalties – then, quietly backtrack once the public’s perception has been firmly jaded against oil and natural gas.
The EPA has been out of control for a long time With the arrival of the Obama Tyranny Administration and all the ivory tower university elitists, none of whom have ever done a days real work in their useless lives, things have become far worse for businesses, particularly in the energy sector. Now we know why. These people, sworn to defend the Constitution, (They all have to take the oath), have nothing but contempt for the Constitution and outright hatred for the United States. The next administration, (Which will probably be Mittens Obomney), will have to reign in these out of control agencies. Personally, if I ever have the chance to ask a question of the presumptive Republican Candidate, It would be this one:
“Governor Romney, Once you have been sworn in and assumed the office of President of the United States, will you present to Congress a list of agencies and departments that should be stripped of any regulatory authority and then closed? If so, will you publish this list for us to review with your reasoning? If you do not have a list, why not?”
If he does have a list, the Environmental Protection Agency should be at the top and should be the first one stripped of all authority, it’s budget zeroed out and all personnel dismissed or retired.
What do you think?
Remember in November!

Well well well, tried to slip the video into the memory hole did they? I happened to see something come in from Ed Morrissey over at HotAir.com saying that the incriminating video had been removed. I found that it was missing from this posting as well. Nice try guys, I found another copy.
