This has been making the rounds today. A news story about a poll that says 83% of doctors have considered leaving the profession if Obamacare isn’t repealed.
The story in the Daily Caller is in regards to a poll that was taken by the DPMA.
Eighty-three percent of American physicians have considered leaving their practices over President Barack Obama’s health care reform law, according to a survey released by the Doctor Patient Medical Association.
The DPMA, a non-partisan association of doctors and patients, surveyed a random selection of 699 doctors nationwide. The survey found that the majority have thought about bailing out of their careers over the legislation, which was upheld last month by the Supreme Court.
This is understandable. Being a doctor is very expensive these days. They have to maintain an office, (Unless they are a staff physician at some hospital or something), pay their staff and most importantly, pay virtually extortionate levels to insurance companies for malpractice insurance.
Obama and the other liars in the Democrat party said this whole mess was meant to “Increase coverage for “The People.” This is rather hard to do when there are no doctors available to see if you are sick or injured. This is on top of the problem with the anticipated shortages to come even if Obamacare is trashed.
Even if doctors do not quit their jobs over the ruling, America will face a shortage of at least 90,000 doctors by 2020. The new health care law increases demand for physicians by expanding insurance coverage. This change will exacerbate the current shortage as more Americans live past 65.
By 2025 the shortage will balloon to over 130,000, Len Marquez, the director of government relations at the American Association of Medical Colleges, told The Daily Caller.
One thing Obamacare doesn’t do is protect doctors and other care givers from the rapacious sharks known as trial lawyers. If anything it makes it harder on them. Why would anyone want to go into the medical field when they will get sued into bankruptcy over a hang nail?
The DPMA found that many doctors do not believe the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will lead to better access to medical care for the majority of Americans, co-founder of the DPMA Kathryn Serkes told TheDC.
No, they are saying it will collapse the system.
“Doctors clearly understand what Washington does not — that a piece of paper that says you are ‘covered’ by insurance or ‘enrolled’ in Medicare or Medicaid does not translate to actual medical care when doctors can’t afford to see patients at the lowball payments, and patients have to jump through government and insurance company bureaucratic hoops,” she said.
We’re already seeing problems with Government Healthcare with the Medicare and Medicaid systems. The coverage doesn’t actually pay the costs of the care required by people using those systems. Doctors have been turning away people using those systems. They can’t earn enough to stay in business. Even if a patient wants to help the doctor out by paying a little more, (To cover the difference), the doctor can’t take the money on pain of criminal charges and imprisonment. I won’t go into what they are actually allowed to prescribe in the way of medical tests and medications.
Of course, the Liberals, Progressives and Democrats, (Not that there’s any difference), have the answer. They will conscript all doctors into government service and if any refuse, they will be jailed. This is their answer to everything, force people to obey the ruling Elite’s diktats. The whole point of Obamacare wasn’t to improve the healthcare system, (Which does have problems, mostly of Governments making), but to institute totalitarian control over the citizens of the United States. Thanks to that coward John Roberts, they have the means.
Obama needs to be crushed at the polls, the Democrats need to be utterly destroyed as a party and Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Elena Kagan need to be impeached and removed from the Supreme Court. Roberts for legislating from the bench and violating his oath of office, and Kagan for conflict of interest.
Elections matter, this more that all the others in the last 150 years.
Remember in November!
