Once again, defend your life and get punished

Good day all. There have been a number of stories of late of people using firearms to defend themselves from criminals. In each case, the gun owner was in full compliance with the laws of their states. However, they were in violation of either company policy or school policy that forbids people from defending themselves.

The most recent case occurred in Washington State at at Gonzaga University in Spokane. Here are the details from Fox News:

A pair of college students in Washington state are facing disciplinary action, including possible expulsion, for using a handgun to prevent an intruder from entering their university-owned apartment.

According to MyFoxSpokane.com, a discipline board at Gonzaga University in Spokane voted Friday to move forward with sanctions against Erik Fagan and Dan McIntosh. The men will learn what their future at the school will hold at a later date.

So what actually happened, other then these two young men refusing to allow themselves to be possibly murdered that is.

Fagan and McIntosh were at the off-campus apartment on the night of October 24 when they heard a knock at the door. Fagan answered the door and found himself face-to-face with John Taylor, a convicted felon wanted on an outstanding warrant by Washington State’s Department of Corrections. Fagan said Taylor demanded money, and became frustrated when the student refused.

Gee, I wonder why this thug thought these two fine citizens were going to pony up their hard earned money and hand it over to this walking example for retroactive abortion? To continue…

When Taylor attempted to barge into the apartment, Fagan called to McIntosh, who brandished his pistol, the site reported. At that, Taylor left the scene, but was later arrested by Spokane Police after the students filed a report.

So far so good. Dirtbag criminal flees for his life when he sees decent American students pull a gun and get ready to make this criminal an ex-criminal. So what was the problem? Wasn’t the student legally entitled to carry under the laws of Washington? (We won’t go into the question of asking for permission to exercise your rights under the Constitution)

McIntosh has a concealed weapons permit for the pistol.

So, no problem there. Unlike the criminal, Mr. McIntosh followed the laws of the state of Washington. So what’s the problem? Well it seems that Gonzaga University is a target rich environment Gun Free Zone. This is ostensibly meant to protect Criminals, Crazies and psychos The Students and staff.

Gonzaga students may not possess handguns on campus or university-owned property, according to the student handbook. In a statement to KAYU-TV, a university spokesman said the policy was longstanding and had been put in place to reduce the number of threats to the campus.

We have seen over the years just how effective these rules forbidding guns on campuses have been. In a word, totally ineffective. All they have done is render people defenseless. Women are being raped, people are being robbed and on rare occasions, we see some nut job walk in and start shooting up the place, knowing that he won’t be interrupted, probably for a good 30-45 minutes. I have no doubt that these two fine young men are going to be expelled. What I hope to see is a massive lawsuit against the university that bankrupts them. I would also like to see criminal charges brought against every single person involved in creating and maintaining this idiotic policy. What sort of charges? Considering I am not a lawyer, I’m going to be generic. First, depraved indifference to human life, conspiracy, aiding and abetting in a felony before the fact, accessory to the crime, etc. Seeing a few administrators and on the business side, CEO’s being hit with these charges might encourage the others to rethink their stupid and dangerous policies to disarm the law abiding citizens.
