Good day all. Yesterday, the United States Supreme Court slapped the lower courts with regards to President Trump’s EO suspending visa’s from some countries for a while.
The left, as usual, when ballistic. Now we have yet another Obama judge deciding that he is the law, not an interpreter of it. He’s decided, under questionable authority, not to allow the deportation of some 1400 Iraqi’s. Here are some of the details from Fox News:
A federal judge in Detroit issued a sweeping order Monday protecting more than 1,400 Iraqis from deportation while he determines whether his court has jurisdiction over the issue. U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith took a decision from last week, which affected 114 mostly Iraqi Christians rounded up in the Detroit area, and stretched it across the U.S. for the next 14 days.
Here we go again. Now the Iraqi Christians probably do have a legitimate claim that they are at risk. We’ve seen how the Muslims in the Middle East have been basically going all genocidal on them. However, I don’t think there are 1400 of them that are covered by this order.
The U.S. government said 1,444 Iraqis are under deportation orders nationwide, though most are not in custody. Some have been under orders for years because they committed crimes in the U.S. But legal action over deportations suddenly is heating up because Iraq has agreed to accept them.
I won’t bother going into dealing with countries that refuse to accept their own nationals back. My idea, along with many others, involves the U.S. Marines. As to those who have been convicted, (And here I am assuming they have been), the law is straight forward. They are gone.
The Justice Department insists a U.S. District Court judge doesn’t have jurisdiction in the immigration matter. Goldsmith is not certain, so the 14-day freeze will give him more time to decide.
“It’s an unusual case for all kinds of reasons,” he said hours earlier while hearing arguments.
Why does he think it’s unusual? Because he’s an Obama judge and as we’ve seen, the Obama judges tend to not give a rats behind about the law, constitution or national security.
The American Civil Liberties Union said a suspension is necessary so Iraqi nationals can go to immigration court and argue that their lives would be in jeopardy if returned to their native country. Without some intervention, the ACLU contends that people could be deported before their case is called.
“They need enough time to file those petitions to reopen. It’s the government that is hurrying these people toward deportation,” Margo Schlanger, attorney for the Iraqi immigrants, told the judge.
The ACLU couldn’t care less about these people. If they did, they would concentrate on those who are really at risk if sent home, the Christians. Honestly, I don’t think the ACLU cares at all if they stay are go. They’re more concerned with keeping the ones who have shown themselves to be a threat in the United States. (And if you are a criminal, you are a proven threat)
I suspect this judge is going to say he has jurisdiction and issue a typical moonbat ruling. This will be appealed and I suspect he’s going to be slapped down just as hard as the other courts were yesterday. Of course, being an Obama judge with a lifetime appointment, he see’s his role as continuing Obama’s and the Progressives “Good Works” at Making America Dead Once and For All.
