Good day all. People have had enough of the orders to wear masks or else. Many states are ending the constitutionally questionable mandates that people must wear them, and now actual studies are being done to determine the actual effectiveness of wearing masks. (Here’s a hint. It’s minimal) However, the Fake President isn’t about to let Freedom are actual science stand in his way of good totalitarian governance.
Despite the Centers for Disease Control saying that it’s time to say goodbye, (and good riddance), to masks, the Maladministration of Dementia Joe, (or his handlers in any case), are looking to force people to continue wearing masks. Here are the details from Fox News:
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) may still issue a workplace mask mandate consistent with a January executive order from President Biden despite new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines that vaccinated Americans do not need to wear masks indoors.
Biden’s Jan. 21 executive order directed his administration to “consider whether any emergency temporary standards on COVID-19, including with respect to masks in the workplace, are necessary.” The order set a deadline of March 15, which was missed.
January 21st? Right after the Fake President was sworn in. I doubt he even remembers his name, never mind signing that order. They also missed the deadline on determining if the regulations were actually needed? Oh I am so surprised at that. (NOT!)
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said at the time that the White House was giving OSHA, which is housed in the Department of Labor, “time to get it right and time to ensure it’s right.”
It was expected that an emergency temporary standard (ETS) on mask-wearing and potential other coronavirus mitigation practices would eventually be approved. A draft ETS, which is not publicly available, was sent to the Office of Management and Budget for review in late April.
Oh, so they intend this to be one of those “Double Secret” orders that no one knows about, never mind actually being able to comment on then? Pity that the CDC threw a rather large wrench in their works.
But CDC guidance earlier this month potentially changed the situation, with the health agency issuing what many saw as an unexpected reprieve for vaccinated individuals from strict public health measures.
The CDC’s actions over the last year have exposed them for what they actually are. Yet another out of control bureaucracy. They’ve already been slapped down a couple of times by the courts, not that they pay any attention to the orders issued, and their credibility has taken massive hits as they’ve gotten things pretty badly wrong, starting with how they’ve actually counted people who died of the China Virus. (Instead of directly affected, they counted anyone who died who tested positive, even if they died of other things, such as a gunshot to the head or a car crash)
It’s unclear how those CDC guidelines might affect whether an ETS is issued by OSHA or what it might look like. A Department of Labor spokesperson did not address a question on how the CDC guidelines might affect a potential ETS on Monday. “The agency is committed to continually improve our ability to protect workers from exposure and hazards related to COVID-19,” the spokesperson said.
That is a simple answer really. It will have no effect on them at all. This isn’t about health, safety or science, it’s all about absolute power and government control of the people.
A group of House Republicans on the Committee on Education and Labor sent a letter to Labor Secretary Marty Walsh on Monday asking him to put the brakes on any new workplace rules considering the proliferation of vaccines and the new CDC guidance.
“We write to express our strong disapproval of your decision to move forward with this ill-advised and unnecessary rulemaking,” the group wrote
“Instead, we encourage DOL to continue working with CDC on COVID-19 guidance and update OSHA’s guidance to align with the latest science to ensure the nation’s economic recovery continues and Americans can continue to return to work,” the Republicans also said.
Walsh is the former mayor of Boston. He’s also a long time union hack who will do whatever the unions want, regardless of what actual working people want. He’s already looking at how to force unions onto the backs of companies and employees through government fiat.
Indeed, it’s very rare for OSHA to issue an ETS – it hasn’t done so since 1983, according to the Congressional Research Service (CRS).
That ETS was in regards to asbestos in the workplace. It was also shot down by the courts.
Notably, the most recent ETS from 1983 – which aimed to reduce asbestos exposure in the workplace – was struck down in federal court. According to the CRS, the ruling was “on the grounds that OSHA did not provide sufficient support for its claim that 80 workers would ultimately die because of exposures to asbestos during the six-month life of the ETS.”
I don’t remember that remember that rule, although I do remember the bruhaha about Asbestos back then. I’m not surprised that OSHA overreached and got slapped. In order to issue one of these ETS things, there has to be a grave danger that if certain things aren’t done, people will die. That’s a very hard standard to meet, especially since most companies, once they are made aware of a problem, will move to fix it. They don’t like dead employees anymore then the families of those do.
If OSHA and the Fake President try to shove a mask mandate down the throats of Americans, they are going to get slammed down hard. We have been forced to deal with this Panicdemic nonsense for over a year and we are seeing actual, real information coming out in spite of the actions of the CDC, the Media and the maladministration of the Fake Presidency of Dementia Joe. I’d hazard a guess that if the Junta tries to do this, the first lawsuit will be filed within minutes. Of course, it might end up in front of an Obama judge, so who knows how long the slap down will take.
