New York raids home, murders pet squirrel

Good day all. I stumbled across this just now. It seems there was a squirrel named Peanut who had some 500K followers on Instagram. It seems that the State of New York wasn’t happy that Peanut, and a raccoon were living in a private citizens home and sent in a goon squad.

Apparently, Peanut’s pet Human, Mark Longo, had found him after he saw Peanut’s mother hit by a car. This was 7 years ago. (This is important) Mr. Longo raised Peanut and then tried to return him to the wild, however Peanut came back and had been injured. Mr. Longo determined that Peanut wouldn’t survive on his own in the wild.

After that, Peanut became a part of the family and Mr. Longo started posting pictures of the squirrel on Instagram. There were pictures and videos of Peanut and he became a favorite of viewers on Instagram. However, the State of New York weren’t fans and raided Mr. Longo’s home and kidnapped Peanut and a raccoon named Fred.

Apparently, there were “Anonymous” complaints, (Probably the local Karens), and The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation stormed in and took the two animals. Two days later, they were executed by the state.

I’ve been reading more and more about this and it looks really bad…for New York. People are furious over this. Additionally, it’s coming across as a clear abuse of power. The State got an actual search warrant, (On what grounds I don’t know right now), and went through the house like they were the FBI rummaging around Melania Trump’s underwear drawer.

Now Peanut had been living with the Longo family for 7 years. He has not been out in the wild where he could come into contact with a rabid animal. I don’t know how long Fred the Raccoon has been with them. However, The State decided to summarily execute the animals so they could test for rabies. (So much for any actual investigation). I’ve actually found out the reason for Peanut’s summary execution, and it really shouldn’t surprise anyone.

In all seriousness, the apparent abuse of power in obtaining this search warrant needs to be fully investigated by someone not in New York. The judge who signed the warrant was either lied to, or is one of those judges that rubber stamps warrants. If the latter turns out to be the case, he needs to be removed from the bench and disbarred. It’s time to start holding judges accountable for blatantly bad decisions. (Not honest mistakes or simple errors)

It was apparently some photographer that was at the house for professional reasons and made the report anonymously. She got found on social media and got hammered nearly as badly as the government has over this. I believe she’s been doxxed, as well, which in my opinion is going too far.
