Good day all. The fallout from the botched FEMA response to Hurricane Helena has been getting worse as more information comes out. There have been reports of areas that FEMA never even tried to reach, and then came the flat out lie that FEMA personnel were being threatened by local militias.
One of the major reports/rumors was the one that had FEMA blocking private rescue and relief groups from delivering supplies, and then confiscating/stealing those very same supplies. Now we have another story of FEMA’s uselessness. There is a very credible report that FEMA higher ups, after Hurricane Milton hit Florida, told their workers to skip any building that had a Trump sign in front of it. Here are the details from the Daily Wire:
A federal disaster relief official ordered workers to bypass the homes of Donald Trump’s supporters as they surveyed damage caused by Hurricane Milton in Florida, according to internal correspondence obtained by The Daily Wire and confirmed by multiple federal employees.
A FEMA supervisor told workers in a message to “avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, internal messages viewed by The Daily Wire reveal. The supervisor, Marn’i Washington, relayed this message both verbally and in a group chat used by the relief team, multiple government employees told The Daily Wire.
I have to ask, was this “Policy” solely the brain fart from this supervisor or did it originate much higher in the chain of command? Considering the level of hatred for President-Elect Trump, (Those words President-Elect Trump, just don’t get old, do they?), from the various government agencies, I could see this coming from as high up as Alejandro Mayorkas, and that Marn’i Washington is being used as a scapegoat.
In any case, FEMA workers on the ground in Florida reported that at least 20 homes were bypassed because the owners were Trump supporters. Because of this, the homeowners, who otherwise would have qualified for assistance, were denied it.
Images shared with The Daily Wire show that houses were skipped over by the workers, who wrote in the government system messages such as: “Trump sign no entry per leadership.”
It is unclear whether the same guidance was issued elsewhere in the country.
Oh, I think it’s a safe bet that this was SOP, especially in North Carolina. The people reporting on this policy apparently weren’t direct FEMA employees. They were Department of Homeland Security employees who came in to help when it was reported that FEMA was shorthanded.
“I know they’re short-staffed, I thought we could go help and make a difference,” one of the employees said. “When we got there we were told to discriminate against people. It’s almost unbelievable to think that somebody in the federal government would think that’s okay.”
Up until Wednesday, November 6th, pretty much everyone at the higher levels thought that was a terrific idea. Now all those people are updating their resumes for the change of management on January 20th, 2025.
“I volunteered to help disaster victims, not discriminate against them,” the employee said. “It didn’t matter if people were black, white, Hispanic, for Trump, for Harris. Everyone deserves the same amount of help.”
This must be a new hire. Obviously, you haven’t been fully trained up that anyone who doesn’t bow down to the Deep State and the Democrats is an evil Nazi and must die.
The FEMA agents ordered not to help houses with Trump signs were operating in Highlands County, a deep-red area located in south central Florida that backed Trump by 70% on Tuesday. It was hit with tornadoes, torrential wind and rain, and flooding when Milton hit in October.
Honestly, this doesn’t surprise me one bit. One of the reports that came out from the Helene mess was that people were being processed for assistance using DEI protocols. Basically, if you were a white Trump supporter, you were automatically rejected for any help.
Now in the normal course of events, this story would have been promptly sent down the memory hole by the Democrat Propaganda Corps. The problem with that was that the sources for the Daily Wire story also provided screen shots and pictures. With actual hard evidence, the kind that stands up in Court, the Mostly Stupid Media had no choice but to cover it, no matter how reluctantly. It helped that President Trump won the election in a landslide. Now the Deep State has sacrificed a bureaucrat. Here are those details from Fox News:
A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) official who instructed Hurricane Milton relief workers to skip homes with Trump signs has been fired from her role, a FEMA spokesperson tells Fox News, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is investigating the federal agency over the controversy.
Fired from her position, but still employed by the United States Government, or she is out and looking for a new job in the fast food sector?
On Saturday, FEMA’s administrator on employee misconduct, Deanne Criswell, confirmed to Fox News Digital that the employee had been fired, calling her actions “reprehensible” and a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation.
“We take our mission to help everyone before, during and after disasters seriously. This employee has been terminated and we have referred the matter to the Office of Special Counsel,” Criswell said. “I will continue to do everything I can to make sure this never happens again.”
Well, it sounds like they did fire this idiot. I’m not sure what the Office of Special Counsel is, so I looked them up. It looks like this is the group that actually can fire federal workers with Civil Service protections.
FEMA, on the other hand, is in deep “Cover Your Ass” mode.
A FEMA spokesperson told Fox News Friday that it is “deeply disturbed” by the employee’s actions and that it is an “isolated incident.”
“The employee who issued this guidance had no authority and was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes and we are reaching out to the people who may have not been reached as a result of this incident,” the spokesperson said, adding that the agency has helped more than 365,000 households impacted by both Hurricanes Helene and Milton in Florida and provided nearly $900 million in direct assistance to survivors.”
That sounds like someone who is one of the “Bigwigs” actually issued the instructions and that this person is nothing more then a sacrificial flunky who was basically acting as a cut out. If the employee didn’t have the authority, then why did the others proceed as though she did?
DeSantis slammed the federal agency Friday after learning about the official’s actions and announced his administration will investigate FEMA over the incident.
“At my direction, the Division of Emergency Management is launching an investigation into the federal government’s targeted discrimination of Floridians who support Donald Trump. New leadership is on the way to D.C., and I’m optimistic that these partisan bureaucrats will be fired.”
Your optimism may be…misplaced. Apparently, according to Rep. James Comer, R-Ky, this bozo is still pulling a paycheck.
“FEMA admits this happened but doesn’t say if the bureaucrat responsible has been fired,” the House Oversight Committee wrote on X. “Democrats relentlessly defend the rules that insulate unelected bureaucrats from accountability and make it nearly impossible to fire bad employees. This is why we need President Trump’s reforms to make bureaucrats accountable.”
President Trump has a mandate. He won both the electoral college by a “Yuuge” amount, and he also won the popular vote. If the GOP hold on to the House, then we can start dismantling “FedZilla.” Personally, I think FEMA should be put on the chopping block, along with the EPA, Energy and Education departments. (Ripping the guts out of the DoJ also needs to be done)
This idiot in FEMA isn’t a lone wolf. He or she is part of the Deep State that has been after the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump since 2016. They are running scared now and I suspect the “Sacrifice” of this bureaucrat was meant to be an offering to him that he will leave them along. That’s not happening. It will be very interesting to see what Elon Musk and the others President Trump is bringing in will recommend with regards to major cuts in the Federal Government. Idiots like the ones at FEMA are just making it easy for them.
