It seems that someone has compiled a list of states and rated them on which one is the \u201cfreest\u201d to the one least \u201cfree.\u201d In absolutely no surprise to anyone, New York is listed as the least free state in the Union, with North Dakota as the most free state.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To top it off, people are fleeing the states designated as \u201cNot free\u201d and moving to the \u201cfree states\u201d in droves. Here are a few details from the Investors Business Daily:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Americans are migrating from less-free liberal states to more-free conservative states, where they are doing better economically, according to a new study published Thursday by George Mason University&#8217;s Mercatus Center.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Freedom in the 50 States&#8221; study measured economic and personal freedom using a wide range of criteria, including tax rates, government spending and debt, regulatory burdens, and state laws covering land use, union organizing, gun control, education choice and more.<\/p>\n<p>It found that the freest states tended to be conservative &#8220;red&#8221; states, while the least free were liberal &#8220;blue&#8221; states.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[youtuber youtube=&#8217;http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1QBU0wuuet4&#8242;]<\/p>\n<p>Well now, you could knock me over with a feather over these findings. Today\u2019s \u201cLiberal\u201d or \u201cBlue\u201d states are run by people who make Karl Marx look like the leader of the Tea Party. Chairman Mao and Joseph Stalin can\u2019t hold a candle to the damage down to the constitutional rights and economies of the cities and states they mismanage. So which states are freest and which are today\u2019s modern slave states?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freedominthe50states.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">freest state<\/a> overall, the researchers concluded, was North Dakota, followed by South Dakota, Tennessee, New Hampshire and Oklahoma. The least free state by far was New York, followed by California, New Jersey, Hawaii and Rhode Island.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>New Hampshire might be having a few issues being in the top five freest states with that <a href=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/?p=11359\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">idiocy passed by the New Hampshire House of Representatives<\/a> the other day. Still, there is a high order of probability that it will be shot down in the senate. To continue&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The study also compared its measures of economic and personal freedom to population shifts and income growth, and found that freer states tend to do better on both scores than those less free.<\/p>\n<p>For example, it found a strong correlation between a state&#8217;s freedom ranking and migration, which means that Americans are gravitating toward states that have less-intrusive governments.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hey Bloomberg! Hear that? People who you want to treat like serfs and slaves are voting with their feet. They are moving from the land of tyranny to the free states of salted foods and Big Gulps. The New York Post continues with this story:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>New York\u2019s big government \u2014 with its hands deep in taxpayers\u2019 pockets and regulations controlling everyone\u2019s lives \u2014 has made the Empire State the worst in the nation for personal liberty, a new study shows.<\/p>\n<p>A war on sugary drinks is the least of freedom-loving New Yorkers\u2019 worries, according a report by George Mason University, which rated the state No. 50 for the level of freedom its residents enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>The university found New York\u2019s government slams citizens from every angle \u2014 from huge taxes to tight controls on business to myriad rules on all kinds of fun.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Democrats can\u2019t stand the thought of people actually having fun. It upsets them, so they just pass a law and jail people who might be having fun. Sort of like the Puritans ((<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Puritan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Puritan<\/a>)) from 400 years ago. Also, Democrats seem to hate money&#8230;at least money that they don\u2019t control.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNew York has, by a wide margin, the highest taxes in the country,\u201d the report found.<\/p>\n<p>The study cited New York state\u2019s 14 percent income tax, well above the national average.<\/p>\n<p>New York is also the most indebted state, with 33 percent of income dedicated to borrowing in fiscal year 2010, the report said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now I will be honest and though that California was the worst with New York and Illinois rounding out the bottom three. Still, those states are in the bottom five. Getting back to New York, here are some of the reasons that state sucks so bad.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Empire State ranked poorly for its heavy-handed economic regulations. For example, the report flunked New York\u2019s rent-control laws, claiming it dampened economic development.<\/p>\n<p>Labor rules that include forcing government workers to pay union dues were also cited as a drag on the state.<\/p>\n<p>The study also found that New York has extensive health-insurance rules that inflate costs.<\/p>\n<p>New York\u2019s gun-control laws were deemed \u201cextremely restrictive\u201d \u2014 even before Gov. Cuomo and the Legislature passed tougher controls this year.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Cuomo and the other totalitarian thugs in the New York Legislature have been stripping away the Second Amendment rights of the citizens for some time. His Imperious Shortness, King Michael the Nanny of New York City, so despises the \u201cLittle People\u201d having any means of defending themselves from his imperial minions, that he wouldn\u2019t let the National Guard into the area after the hurricane last you leveled the area. Why? THEY HAVE GUNS!!! Who knows what might have been accomplished if that jumped up tyrant had let the Guard in to help with the clean up.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The limits on freedom are driving people away, the report\u2019s creators said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew York is by far the least free state in the nation. It is therefore no surprise that New York residents have been heading for the exits: 9 percent of the state\u2019s 2000 population, on net, left the state for another state between 2000 and 2011 \u2014 the highest such figure in the nation,\u201d the study by George Mason\u2019s libertarian-leaning Mercatus Center found.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And how did the Comrade Governors office respond to this study? About how you would expect.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Responded Cuomo spokesman Matthew Wing: \u201cThis report\u2019s definition of \u2018freedom\u2019 is based on extremist political views, not reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGovernor Cuomo has established the lowest tax rate for the middle class in 60 years, enacted a property-tax cap, passed three on-time balanced budgets that hold the line on spending . . . So it\u2019s hardly a surprise that extremists on both sides often disagree with us.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Cuomo and his staffer have this delusion that he will run for and win the presidential election in 2016. Considering that a fair number of New Yorkers have had it with him and want to string him up by his testicles, even getting into the race is doubtful. This bozo Wing is also quite typical of your average Progressive Liberal Democrat. He considers anyone who isn\u2019t in lockstep with his political beliefs to be \u201cAn Extremist,\u201d and as such, they must be crushed, silenced, belittled and if needed, jailed. An extremist in his mind is one who believes in the constitution of the United States. He and his fellow travelers can\u2019t understand why people just won\u2019t bow down and let the \u201cHighly Educated Elites\u201d run their lives. There is no hope with people like this. They just need to be locked up somewhere so they can\u2019t harm themselves or others.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/barking_moonbat3.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1657\" alt=\"Barking Moonbat\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/barking_moonbat3.jpg?resize=250%2C244\" width=\"250\" height=\"244\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, on the other end of the spectrum are the \u201cFree\u201d states. I was surprised to see that New Hampshire topped Texas. I figured they would be close, but New Hampshire would be sliding thanks to the communists in the House and Governors office. In any case, the Free states also, interestingly enough, happen to be run by Republican governors and legislatures. They have worked hard to keep their fiscal houses in order and protect the civil\/constitutional rights of Americans especially the Second Amendment rights. (Again, The New Hampshire House recently showed that it supports criminals instead of law abiding citizens, but that should change in the next election)<\/p>\n<p>In order of freedom, the freest states in the Union are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>North Dakota<\/li>\n<li>South Dakota<\/li>\n<li>Tennessee<\/li>\n<li>New Hampshire<\/li>\n<li>Oklahoma<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Texas came in at 14, which means I will be gloating like mad at all those Texans. Yes, New Hampshire does have a few issues, but as I said, we will sort them out in the next election. One state that is interesting to watch is Louisiana. It is rated at 37<sup>th<\/sup> in the list of free states, but it has gained markedly since the previous survey. (Up 8 places) This can be laid to the hard work of Governor Jindal and the new Republican majorities in the House and Senate. Under the Democrats, the State was noted for it\u2019s incompetence and corruption leading up to the utter chaos of Hurricane Katrina. (Don\u2019t blame it all on Bush. Mayor Ray Nagin and Governor Kathleen Blanco bear a majority of the blame for their criminal incompetence and stupidity)<\/p>\n<p>Now, this survey doesn\u2019t rate the overall levels of freedom on the federal level. Sadly, we have been watching our rights stolen from us at an ever increasing rate. However, it looks like the Sleeping Giant is slowly beginning to wake up and is starting to push back. The states are now working to take back authority seized by the Federal government since the administration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt under the 9<sup>th<\/sup> and 10<sup>th<\/sup> amendments.<\/p>\n<p>To refresh your memories, the 9<sup>th<\/sup> Amendment states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And the 10<sup>th<\/sup> Amendment states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There is little doubt in the minds of anyone who reads these amendments along with the text of the Constitution and the other amendments that the Federal Government is out of control. As the states start pushing back, the statist groups, primarily, but not exclusively, Progressive Liberal Democrats, like to bring out the supremacy clause in the constitution. The text of that reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The federal government and the judiciary have used this clause, (more like abused it), along with the commerce clause ((<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Commerce_Clause#Text_and_pairing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Text and pairing of the Commerce Clause<\/a>)) to essentially strip away the rights of the states to run their own affairs. I\u2019m not going to get into an all out debate on this in this posting. (Feel free to do so in the comments section) Suffice to say that the Federal Government is now to large, run by blithering idiots, criminals, traitors and fools who\u2019s only goal is the furtherance of their own power. This is the reason people are having trouble buying guns and ammunition. It isn\u2019t the government so much blocking sales, as the factories can\u2019t keep up with the demand.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe the morons in Washington might take the hint. Oh who am I kidding? They won\u2019t listen until it\u2019s to late and some of them are being fitted with a noose supplied by a furious lynch mob.
