<\/a>Then, about six or so weeks ago, they came up with a 3D printable gun that actually worked. It was based on the Liberator ((FP-45 Liberator<\/a>)) pistol from World War Two. Unlike it\u2019s World War Two progenitor, this was was not easily hidden, and was about as accuate as the original. Still, it served it\u2019s purpose by showing that all these attempts by Progressives to ban guns were doomed to failure.<\/p>\nWell, some moron in New York has come up with yet another \u201cSure Fire Plan\u201d that \u201cCan Not Fail\u201d to stop the scourge of 3D printers making evil guns. His idea? Outlaw them of course! Here are the details from Epoch Times<\/a>:<\/p>\n A new bill to regulate 3D printed guns was introduced by Council Member Lewis Fidler (D-Brooklyn) on June 12.<\/p>\n The bill would amend the New York administrative code to make it illegal to use a 3D printer to create any part of a firearm unless the person is a licensed gunsmith. A gunsmith using a 3D printer to print any part of a gun would be required to notify the NYPD and register it within 72 hours.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n And how is this going to be enforced? If someone decides to make a gun with a 3D printer, I really don\u2019t think they\u2019re going to be paying to much attention to a law that says they can\u2019t.<\/p>\n Proposed revisions to the code include language ensuring 3D printed guns fall under the same regulations as other firearms. This includes clarification on systems to feed bullets, requirements for a serial number, and regulations against destroying weapons.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n And I repeat, how are you going to enforce this? After all, this isn\u2019t some major manufacturer like Colt or Remington. These are small devices that can sit on a kitchen table. Of course, right now they\u2019re expensive, but so were the first inkjet printers. And like inkjets, they will fall in price and become better to use. So what does Cody Wilson think of this?<\/p>\n Cody Wilson, creator of the first 3D printed guns, and founder of Defense Distributed, said in an email interview, \u201cSuch legislation is a deprivation of equal protection and works in clear ignorance of Title I and II of U.S. gun laws.\u201d Wilson was referring to Title 1, the Gun Control Act of 1968, and Title 2, the National Firearms Act.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n I would say that Mr. Wilson is very well versed in the statutes in question, since he did make the first printable gun after all. And of course, the stupidity of the Progressives in New York continues.<\/p>\n A second piece of legislation was also announced June 12 by State Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal (D-Manhattan), which would make it a felony for anyone to manufacture, sell, or use guns or ammunition magazines made with a 3D printer. Rosenthal\u2019s legislation is still in the Codes Committee.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Can someone takes these idiots out and beat some sense into them, preferably with a mallet? Oh, yeah. With heads that hard, you would more then likely break the mallet. Another issue that has escaped these \u201cPolitical Geniuses\u201d is the question of \u201cWhy would anyone want to make a printable gun in the first place?\u201d<\/p>\n Ernie Encinas, founder of Coastline Protection and Investigations, a former homicide detective who served in the San Diego Police Department for 31 years, said homemade firearms used to be common, but most criminals these days just turn to the black market for their firearms.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s going to be that big of a problem, people making their own guns,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWhy would you use a cheap gun when you can get a regular one on a black market?\u201d he said. He added that most of the criminals he has dealt with used guns that were stolen, then resold. \u201cIf a bad guy wants a gun he\u2019s gonna get a gun.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Now a little background. There are blueprints available on the Internet that people can download that will show them just what they need to do to make a real gun, such as the British Sten Gun ((STEN<\/a>)) or the American M3 Grease Gun ((M3 submachine gun<\/a>)). These guns were designed to be easily and cheaply manufactured. The most difficult parts to make would be the bolt and the barrel, but any competent machinist could make one if they wanted to. You don\u2019t need a full blown machine shop to make the parts either. The only reason no one is making these guns is need. There isn\u2019t one. You can bet that if circumstances change, such as the Progressive Liberal Democrats getting their wet dream of banning the private ownership of guns, (In other words, the suppression of the second amendment), these guns will start showing up on the streets.<\/p>\n As to the Liberator pistol that Cody Wilson created? It\u2019s purpose is similar to the original Liberator pistol. Get in close to a soldier or police officer, shoot them with it, then take their guns and ammo from their dead bodies. If things reach that point, then the United States has, for all intents and purposes, ceased to exist.<\/p>\n Now I fully expect this piece of drek to pass and be signed into law. I also expect it to fail miserably, much as most Progressive Liberal Democrats ideas fail miserably. Of course that won\u2019t stop the Progressive Liberal Democrats from trying. After all, their motto is \u201cIf at first you fail, try and fail again and again until the other side gives up from exhaustion.\u201d Once they fail in this, you know their next step will be outright bans of 3D printers. After all, that\u2019s just how they think.
