Now that George Zimmerman has been found not guilty, as he should have been, he has a problem with his legal expenses. They are massive. This, of course, is the usual method of prosecutors who are trying to railroad someone into prison. Run them out of money so they can\u2019t defend themselves.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Well, Zimmerman was lucky in that he had a couple of lawyers who understood what had happened and what Angela Cory was trying to pull. The result was a well deserved acquittal. However, the bills are still there and need to be paid. Zimmerman\u2019s attorneys have filed a motion seeking payment. Here are the details from Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

George Zimmerman’s attorney says he plans to ask the state of Florida to cover $200,000 to $300,000 of his client’s legal expenses. Mark O’Mara told the Orlando Sentinel Monday night that because Zimmerman was acquitted, state law requires Florida to pay all his legal costs, minus the fee that goes to his lawyers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If I recall correctly, there was some discussions on several news groups and message boards regarding this. It was put in place to help prevent malicious prosecutors from bankrupting someone.<\/p>\n

The Orlando Sentinel reported that under Florida Statute 939.06, a defendant who has been acquitted is not liable for costs associated with his or her case. The money would come from the state Judicial Administrative Commission.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Personally, I think it should come from Angela Cory and the Attorney General personally. They knew they had no case, but tried to railroad an innocent man into prison for political expediency. (They wanted to placate Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson)<\/p>\n

O’Mara said Monday that a motion asking Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson to authorize the payments “is in the works.”<\/p>\n

The expenses include fees associated with expert witnesses, travel, depositions, photocopies and the 3-D video depicting Martin punching Zimmerman that defense attorneys presented during closing arguments.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I didn\u2019t see the video, but I caught the image of one of the attorneys with the life sized mannequin demonstrating how \u201cPoor innocent Trayvon\u201d was straddling Zimmerman and beating his head against the sidewalk.<\/p>\n

O’Mara told the newspaper that the commission, which pays the non-lawyer legal expenses of eligible defendant, is expected to challenge many of the costs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Why am I not surprised? However, I have a feeling most of those challenges will go down in flames, much like Angela Cory\u2019s career is starting to. Of course, certain racist groups refuse to accept the verdict, or the actual facts in the case.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, NAACP President Ben Jealous said Monday his organization collected petitions with more than 1.7 million signatures calling for charges to be filed against Zimmerman for violating Martin’s civil rights.<\/p>\n

Jealous said the signatures, about a million of which came in by mobile phone and many from young people, would be turned over to the Department of Justice on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The NAACP signatures would be in addition to another 219,000 handed over to the Justice Department last week by ColorOfChange, an online civil rights group.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While I have no doubt that Eric Holder and his master Barack \u201cSCoaMF\u201d Obama would like nothing better, they know they have no case. Martin attacked Zimmerman and tried to kill him. If Martin had survived the shooting, he would be looking at some serious prison time right now for attempting to kill George Zimmerman. If Holder were to order Zimmerman tried, he would lose again and open himself up to charges of a politically motivated case. Frankly, I think Zimmerman needs to look into suing the National Association for the Advancement of Colored<\/i><\/span> Racist people. I\u2019m thinking libel and slander and possibly civil rights violations. Now that would freak out the Lefty Moonbats if a so-called \u201cCivil Rights\u201d group got hammered in a civil rights lawsuit. Perhaps Mr. O\u2019Mara might want to look into that after he destroys the Obama Steno Pool.<\/p>\n
