Good day all. This is just a short post. Did anyone notice that the Washington Times<\/a> rolled out a new version of their web site a week ago? I did and nearly vomited when I saw it. Whoever came up with the design should be taken out and fed to a school of starving piranha<\/a>. Apparently, I wasn’t alone in my distaste for the “New and Improved” version. Early this week, they rolled back to their previous, and far more user friendly version.<\/p>\n

I hope they didn’t pay to much for that assault on the eyes that they tried out. They certainly didn’t get their money’s worth. At least they knew when to cut their losses and roll back to the earlier version, unlike A&E. It only took about 48 hours for Washington Time to decide they had a flop on their hands and roll back. A&E took over a week <\/a>to understand they had really screwed the pooch with regards to Phil Robertson and Duck Dynasty. (While I supported Phil, I still have no plans to watch Duck Dynasty)<\/p>\n

Hats off to the management of the Washington Times<\/a> for making a quick call and killing the new site as rapidly as they did. I don’t think they suffered to much damage, especially since they did it over a weekend and were not blowing it all over the Internet, radio and television that they were rolling out the “New and Improved” site. My suggestion to the Times would be to run a new site along side the old one and let their customers try them out and offer suggestions. Then they won’t have a rather nasty shock when they visit the site and you will have a far better designed product the next time you do a major upgrade. Pity Microsoft didn’t do that and now we have Windows (BARF) 8.<\/p>\n
