Greetings all. I\u2019ve been toying with this for a week now, ever since it hit the news. It seems that a number of scientists who firmly believe in Man Made Global Warming<\/i><\/span> Climate Change made a pilgrimage to the Antarctic. They believed that they could sail right up to the coast since all the sea ice had melted away.<\/p>\n

Well, it turns out that this group, like another group who decided to jet ski through the Northwest Passage<\/a>, were a bit off in their calculations. It seems that there is a bit more ice down there then they thought, and these clowns managed to get their ship frozen into the ice so tightly that ice breakers can\u2019t reach them. Here are some of the details from Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Passengers and crew who set off on an expedition to prove climate change are ringing in the new year in the same place where they have been for the past week: stuck in ice at the bottom of the world.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The 74 scientists, tourists and crew on the Russian ship MV Akademik Shokalskiy, which has been trapped near Antarctica since last Tuesday, are expecting to be airlifted from the ship by a helicopter.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That\u2019s if the weather allows a helicopter to get in. Still, they have food and fuel, but they are running short of some very important supplies.<\/p>\n

The ship has two weeks\u2019 worth of fresh food, but Peacock said drinks are becoming sparse, with “just enough alcohol left\u201d to ring in 2014.<\/p>\n

A helicopter on board a Chinese icebreaker, the Snow Dragon, will be used to collect the passengers. The Snow Dragon, which is waiting with the Australian icebreaker Aurora Australis at the edge of the ice pack, was one of three ships that was unable to crack through the ice, as was France’s L’Astrolabe.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to highly credible reports<\/a> regarding the French attempt, there was a serious issue that prevented their breaking through to the MV Akademik Shokalskiy:<\/p>\n

A fwench ship also made a rescue attempt but got diverted when the captain thought he heard a penguin yell at him in German and promptly surrendered.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Getting back the Chinese plan to rescue these disciples of Al Gore, the Chinese will use their helicopter to bring out these morons. However, it will take several flights and there is the weather to consider.<\/p>\n

But the helicopter must wait for a break in the weather before it can attempt a rescue, and conditions aren’t expected to improve before Wednesday, the maritime authority said. The passengers will be flown back to the Snow Dragon in groups of 12, and then transferred by barge to the Aurora.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I guess a barge is suitable for these moonbats, as long as it\u2019s also used to haul garbage out from the assorted Antarctic bases.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the weather remained bleak, and the crew on the Aurora said their vessel would also be at risk of getting stuck if it made another rescue attempt, according to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, which is coordinating the rescue.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Has anyone checked to see if Al Gore ((The Gore Effect<\/a>)) is on board and giving speeches on Man Made Global Warming<\/i><\/span> Climate Change? The scientific team on board had been recreating Australian explorer Douglas Mawson’s ((Sir Douglas Mawson OBE FRS FAA<\/a>)) century-old voyage to Antarctica and expedition leader Chris Turney had hoped to continue the trip if an icebreaker managed to free the ship. The looming helicopter rescue means the expedition will have to be cut short, Stone said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Speaking of penguins, if the weather does close in and the Chinese can\u2019t rescue the religious zealots<\/i><\/span> climate scientists, they could run out of food. If that happens, then they will be forced to hunt for dinner. Luckily, there should be a good supply of penguins down there.
