Good day all. I hope you are enjoying the brisk January weather. We are in the middle of another massive temperature hike<\/i><\/span> drop due to Global Warming<\/i><\/span> natural weather patterns and it looks like the cold might affect the turnout for the Superbowl.<\/p>\n

Normally, tickets for the Superbowl are sold out weeks or even months in advance and resale of the tickets can go as high as $10,000.00 or more for really good seats. Of course, those really good seats are usually in a domed, climate controlled stadium. Not this time. This year\u2019s Superbowl is being held in the MetLife stadium in New Jersey.<\/p>\n

Currently, New Jersey, much like the rest of the Northeast, is buried under snow, ice and frigid temperatures. Standard weather for January. Why this is affecting the sales of Superbowl tickets is simple. The stadium is an open air one and not a domed stadium. This means it\u2019s going to be damn cold in there. According to CBS New York<\/a>, there are a large number of unsold tickets to the game.<\/p>\n

It might be because of the cold weather but the big game may not be such a hot ticket. On Tuesday afternoon, there were still 18,000 tickets available for the Super Bowl,<\/a> CBS 2?s Emily Smith reported.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

18,000 tickets? With a capacity of 82,500 seats? I can\u2019t remember when a Superbowl was not sold out. Ladies, Gentlemen and anything in between, we may be seeing sports history in the making. What could possibly be the reason for this?<\/p>\n

The NFL\u2019s biggest game of the season<\/a> draws fans from around the world to its host city, but this year the game is in New Jersey, the forecast is frigid, and thousands of tickets are still available. Tri-State area residents said that without the Jets or Giants playing on Sunday, the big game isn\u2019t a big deal. Especially in New York where residents are used to hosting big shows and seeing celebrities walking around.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just aggravation. Going there, getting there. I\u2019d rather sit in my living room,\u201d one New Yorker said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! WE have a winner! It\u2019s going to be cold, possibly snowy and the local favorites didn\u2019t make the cut. Still, you would expect people to come since it is, you know, THE SUPERBOWL!! Of course, as I mentioned above, tickets are expensive. So what are tickets going for right now?<\/p>\n

Ticket prices have fallen to $1,500 and haven\u2019t stabilized so they could fall even lower. But it still may not be enough to get some local residents to Metlife stadium.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To begin with, there is no way I would pay $1500 for a ticket to the Superbowl. But then I\u2019m not that much of a sports fan. Still, it is an event and there are people who do want to see it.<\/p>\n

One woman in Midtown did say that she wanted to go. She was from Brazil.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Heheheheheh. I hope she likes the idea of becoming a Brazilcicle. They don\u2019t generally see a lot of snow and ice down there. What I want to know is, who\u2019s dumb idea was it to have the Superbowl in a cold weather area in an open air stadium? Hello? Did the idiot think Al Gore was telling the truth about Global Warming? No one with any sense pays any attention to the Goracle and his cult of crazies anymore.<\/p>\n

Now I expect they will have plenty of tickets come Game Day and they will be desperate to fill the seats. Big gaping holes where people should be does not look good on television. I expect the price of the tickets will plummet in short order, and that will ruin the plans of the scalpers and forgers ((Cops Nab Men In Queens For Allegedly Trying To Sell Fake Super Bowl Ticket<\/a>)).<\/p>\n

Another possible problem would be a major snow storm ((February, Winter, It does snow this time of year)). I wrote a blog post back in August<\/a> regarding predictions by the Farmers Almanac. They predicted the cold conditions this year and said there was a good chance the Superbowl might become known as the Ice and Snow Bowl. As for myself, I think I\u2019ll either buy a pizza or fire up the crock pot and make some chili or something. Then I\u2019ll watch a movie.<\/p>\n
