It’s a new year and a new review. Last night I saw the new movie I, Frankenstein. I had seen the commercials for it and it looked interesting. I was very mistaken.

I should have known that this was going to be a real turkey when I read a review from someone I like online. He didn’t come close in describing the badness of this film. Where to begin? Well, the cinematography is very good. The CGI is well done. You have two first rate and expensive actors in Aaron Eckhart and Bill Nighy. What you don’t have is anything remotely like a good script or good directing. Even the soundtrack left a lot to be desired. As in when I noticed it I cringed.

It’s obvious the director spent his film budget on a pair of big name stars and special effects. So much so that he had to hire a third grade dropout to do the actual script. As to the acting, I was looking for a swarm of termites that was going to attack Eckhart. I’ve seen him in other films and I know he can do much better then this. Obviously, he wasn’t being well directed. It looked like Eckhart wanted to phone his lines in. The Director, Stuart Beattle, should try a new career in the food services industry.

This movie is so bad I’m not even going to bother with the plot and possible spoilers. I’m just going to quote Rotten Tomatoes instead:

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein’s creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality. From the creators of the hit supernatural saga, UNDERWORLD, comes the action thriller I, FRANKENSTEIN, written for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie based on the graphic novel “I, Frankenstein” by Kevin Grevioux, and brought to life by a cast that includes Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein. (c) Lionsgate

When I saw this, I went to my usual haunt at Chunky’s. Even the Chocolate Cake tasted bad thanks to this cinematic disaster. I wish I wasn’t driving, then I could have tried to drink myself into blissful unconsciousness and been carried out of the theater. The only thing I can think of that rivals the utter awfulness of this movie is Obamacare. Save your money and don’t see this waste of film.

Thatisall

~The Angry Webmaster~

(1 votes, average: 1.00 out of 5)
Loading...

3B Theater: Micro-Brewed Reviews: Recommendations :: Another …

… just the same.
