Good day all, and it is a good day. I saw a story over the weekend that just makes me giggle at the Schadenfreude of it all. The Democrats in Texas have an honest to goodness nutcase who might actually win their senate primary.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In this case, we have a follower of Lyndon LaRouche who has a real shot at advancing in their primary,\u00a0 and although the this person has no real chance of winning the senate seat, the fact that she even has a slight chance is giving the Texas Democrats heart palpitations. Here are the details from The Hill<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Texas Democrats are scrambling to can stop a controversial pro-impeachment, anti-ObamaCare candidate from advancing in their party\u2019s Senate primary. Winning the general election is long shot for any nominee. But with Democrats optimistic about a resurgence in the Lone Star State and their chances in the governor\u2019s race, Lyndon LaRouche acolyte Kesha Rogers could damage those hopes if she even advances to a runoff on Tuesday.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I\u2019m not going into the politics of the LaRouche movement. Suffice to say, they are somewhat out on the fringes. Well, they are really way beyond the fringes. So, who is this Kesha Rogers and what is her platform?<\/p>\n

A follower of LaRouche\u2019s, Rogers shares many of the Democratic activist\u2019s fringe positions such as impeaching President Obama, repealing ObamaCare and \u201ccrushing Wall Street.\u201d She also advocates the reinstatement of the Glass-Steagall Act to limit securities trading, and has a detailed plan for space exploration and harnessing thermonuclear fusion energy. In the past, she\u2019s drawn Hitler mustaches on Obama posters and likened ObamaCare to practices of Nazi doctors. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hmm, I can see why she has a few people interested. Impeaching Obama? I can go for that. Repealing Obamacare? Most of the American Population favors that one. Glass-Steagall Act ((Glass\u2013Steagall Legislation<\/a>))? That one is complicated, but worthy of some debate. I would consider drawing Hitler mustaches on Obama posters to be both rather childish and insulting…to Hitler. That scumbag was at least reasonably competent at what he wanted to do. Dead wrong and evil, but you knew what he wanted to do.<\/p>\n

Rogers\u2019s controversial views and surprising surge have spurred state Democrats to quickly distance themselves from her. Appearing Monday on MSNBC\u2019s \u201cThe Daily Rundown,\u201d former Rep. Martin Frost (D-Texas) blamed her apparent rise on residual name identification the two-time congressional nominee has. She\u2019s raised only $27,000 for her unlikely bid.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cThe party is working very hard to make sure she\u2019s not the nominee,\u201d said Frost, a former Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I see a few possibilities here. For one, I think it\u2019s time to restart \u201cOperation Chaos ((Rush Limbaugh: Operation Chaos<\/a>))\u201d and funnel support to this candidate. Ms. Rogers has no chance in the general election, but it would be fun to really screw over the Progressive Liberal Democrats in Texas. Of course, the PLD\u2019s are taking no chances.<\/p>\n

The Texas Democratic Party has been sending out anti-Rogers material and information to Democratic infrastructure and counties all over the state, Texas Democratic Party spokesman Manny Garcia said.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cWith the possibility of a low information election, you always want to make sure folks have some information to make their decision,\u201d Garcia said.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

You know something? It may be that the people actually do know what she stands for and it\u2019s closer to what they want then what you commie moonbats want.<\/p>\n

\"Barking<\/a><\/p>\n

Alameel\u2019s campaign dismissed the Tribune<\/em> poll and its controversial methodology, saying their own surveys show a different scenario.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cThat poll was, to put it bluntly, nonsense,\u201d Alameel campaign spokeswoman Suzie Dundas said. \u201cOur internal results are showing us doing very well.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Not everyone agrees with you Ms. Dumbass<\/span><\/i> Dundas.<\/p>\n

But other statewide observers warned that, with most of the focus in the state on the governor\u2019s race and the GOP Senate primary, this Democratic fight has largely flown under the radar. And that makes any Tuesday outcome hard to predict.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cI suspect that nobody who answered this poll has any idea who any of these candidates are,\u201d said Paul Stekler, professor of public affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. \u201cAll the serious analysis is going towards gubernatorial election. Basically Democrats are giving Republicans a complete pass on the Senate election.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And if they nominate Ms. Rogers, I expect the Democrats to fold their tents and head off to Long Island for a vacation. Before that, the PLD Attack machine will be revved up to full power. For instance, One of Ms. Rogers opponents, Maxey Scherr had this to say:<\/p>\n

Scherr told The Hill she didn\u2019t give too much credence to the numbers.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201c[Rogers] is a threat to Democrats and humanity all across the states and country,\u201d said Scherr. \u201cShe is absolutely the wrong message for this country. It\u2019s a concern that she\u2019s even in this race to begin with.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And there is the response by the Modern Democrats. She is not one of them so she is evil and must be expelled from the Democrat Hive and destroyed! Of course. Ms. Rogers is fighting back.<\/p>\n

Rogers\u2019s campaign manager Ian Overton defended the LaRouche candidate, arguing voters have been positively responsive to her ideas.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Texas Democratic party 30 years ago was directly in line with what Kesha stands for,\u201d Overton said. \u201cWe think the Democratic Party has been hijacked by Wall Street interests. Kesha is trying to bring it back to what it believed in.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well Ms. Rogers has one thing wrong. It isn\u2019t Wall street that hijacked the Democrats, it was the Democrats who hijacked Wall street. However, she is saying enough of the right things to attract attention, a fair amount of it would fit in with the conservative groups. Still, I do tend to think that Ms. Rogers has plenty to fear from hungry squirrels.<\/p>\n

Still, the low-interest race remains unpredictable. If Rogers does advance to a runoff, expect Democrats to go all out to stop her there, afraid she could roil their chances in other contests.<\/em><\/p>\n

But their fears could still be eased on Tuesday. With light turnout expected, Sherri Greenberg, director of the Center for Politics and Government at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas-Austin, says it will be knowledgeable voters heading to the polls who will likely know about Rogers\u2019s controversial views.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cUnless you have a hotly contested primary race, the Democrats who go to polls are going to be well-motivated and well-informed,\u201d Greenberg predicted. \u201cI don\u2019t think this one poll means she is going to win. It just means people have not been paying attention.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Or, it could mean they have been paying attention. With the way the PLD\u2019s have destroyed Detroit, ruined California, New York, Illinois and other states, the voters in Texas may decide to teach the party a lesson. While I don\u2019t doubt Ms. Rogers will have her head handed to her politically, it is nice to watch the outright panic among the PLD Elites in Texas.<\/p>\n
