Well, well, well. Now that the spying show is on the other foot, Senator Dianne Feinstein is outraged, OUTRAGED at what the intelligence services have been doing.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

What am I talking about? Well, it came out about a week or so ago that the CIA may have rummaged around the secure congressional network. Most people put it down as a rumor thinking even the CIA couldn\u2019t be that stupid. Well today, Dianne Feinstein, (D-California), and head of the senate intelligence committee searched a stand-alone network set up to keep records on investigations into the Bush administrations policies. Here are some of the details from Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, launching a rare public battle with the CIA, claimed Tuesday that the agency may have committed a crime by allegedly spying on committee staffers.<\/i><\/p>\n

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., addressed the controversy in a scathing address on the Senate floor. She claims the CIA improperly searched a stand-alone computer network established for Congress as part of its investigation into allegations of CIA abuse in a Bush-era detention and interrogation program. <\/i><\/p>\n

The California Democrat said the CIA searched the network this past January, an act she claimed may have violated the Constitution and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. She confirmed that the matter has been referred to the Justice Department by the CIA inspector general. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"DOIJ\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Gee DiFi, how does it feel to have you \u201cPersonal and Private\u201d data rummaged through by the CIA? Not to pleasant a feeling, is it? Now you might begin to get an idea why so many people are enraged over what the NSA and CIA have been doing to American Citizens IN the United States.<\/p>\n

“Based on what Director [John] Brennan has informed us, I have grave concerns that the CIA search may well have violated the separation of powers principles embodied in the United States Constitution including the Speech and Debate clause,” she said. “It may have undermined the constitutional framework essential to effective congressional oversight of intelligence activities or any other government function.”<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Oversight? What oversight? Since Obama took office, the policy of the Democrats was \u201cHey, do whatever you want. We have your back.\u201d When it was primarily Conservatives, Tea Party members and the Republicans, you not only were silent, you actively encouraged these abuses. Needless to say the CIA denies this.<\/p>\n

Brennan, speaking at a separate event on Tuesday, denied the allegations. “Nothing can be further [from] the truth, we wouldn’t do that,” he said.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"bullshit-meter\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I think the phrase here is \u201cDroppings from a Male Bovine, these are.\u201d Whatever you may think of Edward Snowden, he did reveal just how much the intelligence services and the FBI have been abusing their authority. People like Feinstein have been accusing Snowden of lying, being a traitor and every other name under the sun, all designed to hide what these agencies have been doing. Now, they are complaining mightily when they are the ones being spied on. Excuse me while I try to care.<\/p>\n

Now, in all seriousness, this is not the first time the intelligence services have pulled these shenanigans.\u00a0 The last time was back in the 1970\u2019s under Nixon, (Although he inherited most of this), and resulted in hearings by the Church Committee ((United States Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities<\/a>)). Back then, there were a few serious issues that needed to be addressed, however what happened was the near gutting of the CIA. After that, we had Jimmy Carter, the second worst president in United States history and his flunky Admiral Stansfield Turner ((Stansfield M. Turner<\/a>)).<\/p>\n

Under Turner, American Human Intelligence, (Spies), was downgraded and we started using electronics and satellites to watch our enemies. How bad was the change? Over 800 people who were trained and experienced in spying were let go from the CIA. I can\u2019t say what happened to all the assets they were running, (Foreign spies), but I doubt it was very good. One of the things that the Reagan Administration had to do was rebuild the CIA after the mess made of it by Carter and Turner. They never truly got the agency back into shape.<\/p>\n

Now, the NSA and the CIA, having forgotten what happened back in the \u201870\u2019s, are at it again. Not only are they abusing the Constitution of the United States, they are now targeting the committees charged with their oversight, (Who are supposed to be keeping them from doing these dumb things), and apparently specific members of congress. However, considering the current crop of corrupt idiots on both sides of the aisle, I do not expect them to do much, if anything about this. Why do I say this? How about the speech Feinstein gave when she announced the CIA\u2019s malfeasance. From the Washington Post<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Reading from <\/i>a prepared text<\/i><\/a>, Feinstein said she was speaking out \u201creluctantly\u201d but that she wanted to speak in order to clarify the situation. \u201cThe increasing amount of inaccurate information circulating now cannot be allowed to stand unanswered,\u201d she said. \u00a0<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I would recommend following the link. I glanced through the transcript, but I didn\u2019t see anything about reigning in these clowns. (I may have missed it) You also have the response from a couple of Republicans on the committee.<\/p>\n

The two most-senior Republicans on the Intelligence Committee, Sens. Saxby Chambliss (Ga.) and Richard Burr (N.C.), declined to discuss the specifics of Feinstein’s remarks. Chambliss rushed away from reporters after a midday vote. Burr, a longtime member of both the House and Senate intelligence panels, said he hadn’t yet read Feinstein’s remarks but said he personally opposes openly discussing activities of the panel or the CIA.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I smell COVERUP!! Ok, I\u2019ll put the \u201cCertified NSA-proof Tinfoil Hat\u201d away now. I have no sympathy for Feinstein and the other slimeballs on both the house and senate oversight committees. They, like the FISA court, have failed in their duties to the Constitution and the American people. I want every single member on both sides of the aisle who have been carrying the CIA and NSA\u2019s water to be run out of Washington on a rail. If ever there was a reason for term limits, the abject failure in doing their duties is it. It\u2019s time for these ancient fossils to retire to the nearest natural museum where they can be studied by school children on what not to do when elected to high office.<\/p>\n
