This video started going viral the other day. It consists of an argument between Don Lemon and radio host Don Ferguson regarding the differences between semi-automatic rifles and fully automatic rifles.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

To say that Don Lemon is lacking in clues is an understatement. He basically claimed that anyone can buy a fully automatic rifle and that the only difference between a fully automatic rifle and a semi-automatic rifle was \u201cSemantics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oh where to begin? How about some basic instruction for Mr. Lemon? Today\u2019s fully automatic military rifles, such as the AK-47, the M-16 and the Israeli Tavor are fully automatic rifles. They are capable of firing both one shot with each pull of the trigger, or with the flip of a switch, firing continuously until they exhaust their ammunition with a single pull of the trigger.<\/p>\n

The semi-automatic versions of these rifles sold on the civilian market are only capable of firing one shot with each pull of the trigger. While you can purchase a fully automatic firearm, it requires filing forms with the BATFE and paying a $200 tax over and above the cost of the firearm. Since no new fully automatic firearms have been allowed to be sold in the United States to civilians since 1986, the current supply is limited and the firearms are very expensive.<\/p>\n

Mr. Lemon has managed to utterly beclown himself with his politically motivated ignorance. How CNN can continue to employ someone as ignorant as Don Lemon is beyond my comprehension. Any true reporter would know that if their report is being challenged, then they need to go back and verify their information.<\/p>\n

This video also makes me want to know if Mr. Lemon is, in fact, confessing to violating a number of federal statutes on the sale and ownership of fully automatic weapons? Has the BATFE been notified regarding the possibility of a crime being committed by Don Lemon? He seems to be confessing to committing a federal offense on national television.<\/p>\n
