Good day all. A few days ago I wrote about<\/a> how Senator John McCain (Rino-AZ), wanted Obama to appoint an \u201cEbola Czar.\u201d Well, Senator Aisle Crosser had gotten his wish. King Putt took a few minutes from his busy golf schedule and appointed one.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The new \u201cEbola Czar\u201d is Ron Klain, and as you would expect from the SCoaMF, he comes highly qualified. Here are some of the details from Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Responding to growing calls to appoint an “Ebola czar” to lead America’s battle against the deadly virus, sources confirm to Fox News that President Obama plans to name Ron Klain, a longtime political hand with no apparent medical or health care background. He did, however, serve as chief of staff to Al Gore and later Vice President Biden. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"The-Good-Idea-Fairy-3\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Yep, yet another highly qualified<\/i><\/span> political hack selected for political reasons, not to get anything done. However, I\u2019m sure he\u2019s fully up to speed on Global Warming, thanks to working for Al Gore.<\/p>\n

In making the appointment, Obama will effectively bypass another official, Dr. Nicole Lurie<\/a>, who has served as assistant secretary for preparedness and response (ASPR) at the Department of Health and Human Services since July 2009. <\/i>Congress, nearly a decade ago, created that post, which would seem to fit the bill for Ebola coordinator — at least on paper.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now the question is, why didn\u2019t they bring out Dr. Lurie when the first Ebola patient showed up? Well she hasn\u2019t been all that visible for some reason.<\/p>\n

Yet, as Obama prepares to name Klain, the senior official currently filling that health job has been virtually absent from the public eye. She’s on the team, the Obama administration insists — just not in the lead. A spokesman with HHS told Fox News that Lisa Monaco, the president’s homeland security and counterterrorism adviser, is still playing an “overall coordinating role” from the White House. But in addition to roles played by other agencies, “Dr. Lurie and her team in ASPR are dealing primarily with advance development of countermeasures, [Public Health Service] deployment, and hospital outreach.”<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In other words, she\u2019s been shifted off to one side and essentially ignored. Probably due to not being a total Obama sycophant and possibly more interested in getting the job done instead of playing political games. Or is there something else?<\/p>\n

Lurie comes with some baggage. <\/i><\/p>\n

In 2011, she was cited in a congressional investigation of a controversial no-bid contract given to New York-based Siga Technologies Inc., to develop a small pox vaccine some experts at the time felt was unnecessary. The senior stakeholder of Siga, which received $443 million to develop the drug, was Ronald O. Perelman, a billionaire and longtime political donor.<\/i><\/p>\n

The investigation at one point focused on a favorable letter that Lurie, who had overseen the bid process, had written to Siga’s chief executive. She later said the bid was awarded strictly on merit.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yep, politics. The no bid contract was awarded to yet another Obama Crony. Considering that the only samples of Smallpox known to exist<\/a> are in the CDC and a secure Russian lab, the need for the vaccine is rather questionable.<\/p>\n

Ironically, some of the calls for an Ebola “czar” came from Republicans that previously hammered the administration over its many centralized-power positions that informally carried that name.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Actually, I\u2019ve only heard one Republican call for an Ebola Czar.<\/p>\n

During Obama’s first term in office, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., joined a host of Republicans in criticizing the president’s appointment of numerous so-called “czars,” some of which do not require Senate approval. “Obama has more czars than the Romanovs,” McCain snarked in a 2009 tweet, referring to the pre-revolutionary Russian dynasty.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"John<\/a><\/p>\n

And as I wrote about the other day, Senator \u201cDumbo Drop<\/a>\u201d changed his tune faster then an Ebola patient changes his underwear<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While previously pushing back on calls for a “czar,” the White House had assured there are “clear lines of authority” among HHS, the Centers for Disease Control, Department of Defense, departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services and other agencies, all working here and in West Africa to coordinate security and health efforts.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And as we have found out, those clear lines of authority never actually existed. Now we have our Ebola Czar and we can expect to see absolutely nothing getting done. However, that\u2019s a feature, not a bug as far as Der Fubar is concerned. All this Klain guy is there for is to take the heat when more cases of Ebola crop up due to the utter incompetence of the Obola<\/i><\/span> Obama Administration.<\/p>\n
