Good day all. I\u2019m going to review something a little different today. Usually I review movies, television shows and books, and the Angry Systems Administrator reviews technology.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/a> Today I\u2019m going to write about kitchen utensils, specifically Kuchenprofi Round Egg Rings<\/a>. Like a lot of people, I, on occasion, like to have a couple of fried eggs with bacon and sausage. However, I really don\u2019t like how the egg whites spread out all over the pan, making it a bit difficult flipping the eggs over. I have had the yolks break on me, ruining the effect. I was aware of how fast food places like McDonald\u2019s have fried eggs that fit nicely on an English muffin. I became curious and looked up how they did it. That\u2019s when I discovered the rings they and others use to make those nice round fried eggs.<\/p>\n

Now I don\u2019t need an industrial grade utensil that can handle a dozen eggs at once, so I did a little shopping on Amazon.com<\/a> and see what I could come up with. They had a number of different types of rings and molds. I read the reviews and found that these, for the money, were just what I was looking for, so I ordered a pair.<\/p>\n

They arrived Tuesday, November 11th<\/sup>, and I tried them out the following Wednesday morning. (Much to Mrs. Webmaster\u2019s annoyance) I got out my pan, sprayed it down with non-stick spray, and also sprayed the two rings and placed them in the pan. I heated up the pan and then put a single egg into a small measuring cup. The reason for this was to avoid missing the ring when I put the egg in.<\/p>\n

When I poured in the eggs, the whites did leak out of the bottom slightly but not enough to worry about. Due to the heat of the pan, the whites quickly solidified. I let the eggs \u201csimmer\u201d as it were, for a few minutes and then gently lifted one of the rings off the pan. The egg was firm enough that it didn\u2019t run and maintained it\u2019s shape. I let them cook for a bit and then flipped them. (I prefer once over easy) Once the eggs were cooked, I put them on a plate with some toast, sausage and of course, coffee. The eggs came out well.<\/p>\n

Now there were a few things I learned from my first attempt. I had cooked the sausages first, and that scorched the pan slightly. This did affect the taste of the eggs a bit. Next time, I will cook the eggs first and then the bacon and\/or sausages. Also, instead of just using the spray, I will also add a bit of oil. The idea being to create a bit of a seal between the rings and the pan to prevent any leaking of the egg whites. Like using any new tool, there is always a bit of a learning curve.<\/p>\n

Clean up was simply washing the rings and letting them dry. I understand these are dishwasher safe, however the Anger Central Primary Dwelling doesn\u2019t have a machine. We usually have the Angry Maid handle the dishes, but Wednesday was her day off. I highly recommend purchasing the Kuchenprofi Round Egg Rings<\/a> for your kitchen. With them, you can create your very own egg McMuffins and unlike McDonald\u2019s, these will be fresh off the griddle.<\/p>\n
