Good evening all. I have finally gotten the new hard drive I mentioned installed and configured on that cheap useless idiot’s 5 your old computer. Have I mentioned that I despise Hewlett Packard computers?. The problem I was having yesterday was the settings in the BIOS. Apparently Seagate has had to deal with this in the past since they had extensive help files on correcting the problem.<\/p>\n

I’ve just spent the day installing Windows 7 Ultimate, Office 10 and the antiquated Microsoft Frontpage. Fortunately, most of the apps the bubblehead uses are portable apps, so having to reinstall hundreds of programs wasn’t required. I’ve still had to spend my entire Sunday working on this box while that worthless wingnut was out enjoying the weather. (If he thinks I’m working on Thanksgiving, well, I can always drop him in the deep fryer instead of that turkey)<\/p>\n

I am seeing a difference with the new hardware, and the increase from a 180gb drive to a 2TB drive is great. Now he has 4TB in total to fill up with assorted viruses, trojans and porn. I”m also glad I installed DriveXML on all the systems. I missed a few apps and had to dig into the image file to pull them out. Also, we use Carbonite on all the PC’s, and I was able to pull a number of programs and files from there as well. That subscription is well worth the money. I’ll be tweaking this system out for a few days, but essentially it’s done and fully functional. I hope I don’t have to do this again any time soon.<\/p>\n
