Peru will seek criminal charges against Greenpeace<\/a> activists who it says damaged the world-renowned Nazca lines by leaving footprints in the adjacent desert during a publicity stunt. <\/i><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a true slap in the face at everything Peruvians consider sacred,\u201d said Luis Jaime Castillo, the deputy culture minister, after the action by the environmental group on Monday, at the famed drawings etched into Peru\u2019s coastal desert, a UN world heritage site. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Good, I hope they throw these moonbats into the worst prison Peru has.<\/p>\n He said the government was seeking to prevent those responsible from leaving the country while it asks prosecutors to file charges of attacking archaeological monuments, a crime punishable by up to six years in prison. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n I hope they get convictions and those morons serve every single day of their sentence. Now just what did these Moonbat Taggers<\/a> do to the Nazca drawings?<\/p>\n The activists entered a \u201cstrictly prohibited\u201d area beside the figure of a hummingbird, the culture ministry said. They laid big yellow cloth letters reading: \u201cTime for Change! The Future is Renewable.\u201d The message was intended for delegates from 190 countries at the UN climate talks being held in Lima. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Well there\u2019s your problem. Putting a sign up that says \u201cStrictly Prohibited\u201d is like holding up a bag of Heroin to an addict.<\/p>\n Castillo said no one, not even presidents and cabinet ministers, was allowed where the activists had gone without authorization and anyone who received permission must wear special shoes. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n And in true Progressive Moonbat thinking, (Or what passes for thinking with these morons), that doesn\u2019t apply to them because they are \u201cDoing good!\u201d and \u201cSaving the planet!\u201d Now the Nazca line drawings are somewhere between 1500 and 2000 years old and can only be seen from high altitude, One of the mysteries is how the people back then created these drawings since they didn\u2019t have balloons or aircraft to see how they looked.<\/p>\n \u201cThey are absolutely fragile. They are black rocks on a white background. You walk there and the footprint is going to last hundreds or thousands of years,\u201d Castillo said. \u201cAnd the line that they have destroyed is the most visible and most recognized of all.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Why am I not surprised? Like anyone else, they probably couldn\u2019t see the lines from ground level. And what was Greepeace\u2019s excuse?<\/p>\n Tina Loeffelbein, spokeswoman for Greenpeace, said the activists were \u201cabsolutely careful to protect the Nazca lines\u201d and that the group was taking the case seriously and investigating. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Oh I\u2019m sure they are. Just like Obama has been investigating things like the IRS scandal, the Fast&Furious scandal, the Benghazi scandal, etc. Oh wait! He actually isn\u2019t, since he\u2019s said there isn\u2019t a smidgen of corruption in his, the most transparent administration EVER! Well, I\u2019m sure Greenpeace will hand over these vandals in short order.<\/p>\n She declined to answer further questions, such as whether Greenpeace intended to identify to authorities the people involved, which the government has demanded. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n And I\u2019ll take that as a no then? That sounds par for the course for Progressive organizations. In their view, the rules we all have to follow don\u2019t apply to them since they are working to \u201cSave the World!\u201d from \u201cEvil Capitalists and despoilers!!\u201d Personally, I think the mistake that France made when they sank the Rainbow Warrior was not setting the charges to go off when that rust bucket was out in the open ocean ((Sinking of the Rainbow Warrior<\/a>)).<\/p>\n The last time Greenpeace was in the news like this was last year when they decided to board a Russian oil rig to stop it\u2019s drilling operations. That didn\u2019t work out to well for the Greenpeace pinheads involved. They ended up in a Russian prison looking at piracy<\/a> charges ((Russia to charge Greenpeace activists with piracy over oil rig protest<\/a>)). After a few months living in terror that they would be spending some serious quality time in a Soviet Gulag<\/i><\/span> Russian prison, they managed to get the Russians to let them go. You don\u2019t hear about Greenpeace annoying the Russians any longer these days, do you?<\/p>\n The Peruvians are even angrier then the Russians were with the oil rig mess. This is their culture that those clubfooted idiots vandalized. If they get their hands on these jerks, they are going to show no mercy to them, and that\u2019s why I think they are already out of the country now.<\/p>\n Somehow, I don\u2019t think that\u2019s going to work for them. First, Peru, much as they might want to, won\u2019t execute them. Second, the rest of the world has had it with Greenpeace\u2019s destructive antics. And finally, the vandals were nice enough to leave pictures of themselves all over the internet. I have little doubt that Interpol will be looking for them in short order and they will be shipped back to Peru to stand trial.
