Good day all. I have just come up from my binge watching of the new Netflix series, Marco Polo. As is the tradition of Netflix, they put the entire season up and I sat through all 10 hours of it.<\/p>\n

Normally I would write down a long review loaded with spoilers, but the series is 10 hours long so I\u2019m just going to provide a basic review. The series is colorful, definitely not for children with excellent cinematography, although it doesn\u2019t seem that they did any actual filming in China. Now, as to the historical accuracy of the story? Well, there was a man named Marco Polo, he was from Venice, and he did spend time in the court of Kublai Khan. Other then that? Not so much.<\/p>\n

Granted, Netflix wanted to make this an entertaining drama, and they did succeed. I was entertained. I was also entertained by all the ladies in various stages of undress. *wink* This is one of the reasons I don\u2019t recommend this for children, that and the levels of violence. We have people being decapitated, run through with swords and spears, skewered by arrows and the whole host of ways that people met violent ends back in those days.<\/p>\n

If you have Netflix, I recommend watching this series. I\u2019m assuming that if it does well, there will be a second series next year. Netflix is looking to become a producer of original films and series and this adds to their library. So, get Netflix and make yourselves comfortable for a day or so and watch. I don\u2019t think you will be disappointed.<\/p>\n
