This committee, tossing out millions of years of evolution, thinks we would all be so much healthier of we ate nothing but shrubs. Here are the details from the Free Beacon<\/a>. (Not to be confused with free bacon)<\/p>\n The federal committee responsible for nutrition guidelines is calling for the adoption of \u201cplant-based\u201d diets, taxes on dessert, trained obesity \u201cinterventionists\u201d at worksites, and electronic monitoring of how long Americans sit in front of the television. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n My, how Soviet their thinking is.<\/p>\n The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) released its far-reaching 571-page report<\/a> of recommendations to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Thursday, which detailed its plans to \u201ctransform the food system.\u201d <\/i>The report is open for public comment<\/a> for 45 days, and will be used as the basis by the government agencies to develop the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The guidelines are used as the basis for government food assistance programs, nutrition education efforts, and for making \u201cdecisions about national health objectives.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n In other words, they would like nothing better then to tell people how to live their lives. All I can say to that is \u201cSieg HEIL!\u201d<\/p>\n DGAC proposed a variety of solutions to address obesity, and its promotion of what it calls the \u201cculture of health.\u201d \u201cThe persistent high levels of overweight and obesity require urgent population- and individual-level strategies across multiple settings, including health care, communities, schools, worksites, and families,\u201d they said. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n What do you want to wager that these walking diaper stains all look like death camp survivors? And what is their great idea to \u201cFight obesity?\u201d<\/p>\n In response, DGAC called for diet and weight management interventions by \u201ctrained interventionists\u201d in healthcare settings, community locations, and worksites. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Allow me to inform you right now that if one of these moonbats sticks his or her snout in my face at work or anywhere else, I will punch them right in the mouth. As far as I’m concerned, these minions of Michael Bloomberg can go talk a long walk off the south rim of the Grand Canyon.<\/p>\n \u201cGovernment at local, state, and national levels, the health care system, schools, worksites, community organizations, businesses, and the food industry all have critical roles in developing creative and effective solutions,\u201d they said. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Usually by threatening people. Of course, they also think that if you want to enjoy foods that you like, instead of a plate full of grass and kelp, you should be taxed for the \u201cprivilege.\u201d<\/p>\n DGAC also called for policy interventions to \u201creduce unhealthy options,\u201d limit access to high calorie foods in public buildings, \u201climit the exposure\u201d of advertisements for junk food, a soda tax<\/a>, and taxing high sugar and salt items and dessert. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Oh these moonbats are really looking for a nice sucking chest wound, aren’t they?<\/p>\n \u201cAlign nutritional and agricultural policies with Dietary Guidelines recommendations and make broad policy changes to transform the food system so as to promote population health, including the use of economic and taxing policies to encourage the production and consumption of healthy foods and to reduce unhealthy foods,\u201d its report read. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Of course, they have a few examples of their \u201ccunning plans.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFor example, earmark tax revenues from sugar-sweetened beverages, snack foods and desserts high in calories, added sugars, or sodium, and other less healthy foods for nutrition education initiatives and obesity prevention programs.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Has anyone ever explained to them that there is no such thing as \u201cEarmarking\u201d where tax money goes? I can almost guarantee it won’t be going to where these drooling knotheads think it will go. They also have a plan for people who might want to watch television.<\/p>\n The amount of sedentary time Americans spend in front of computers and TV sets is also a concern to the federal panel. They recommended \u201ccoaching or counseling sessions,\u201d \u201cpeer-based social support,\u201d and \u201celectronic tracking and monitoring of the use of screen-based technologies\u201d as a way to limit screen time. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n I do believe this is known as \u201cThought Control\u201d and \u201cCensorship.\u201d I’m surprised they haven’t called for a ban on televising sporting events like the Superbowl. Would you care to guess how many worthless calories are consumed on that day? And of course, they had to bring up Global Warming.<\/p>\n As expected, the committee recommended that Americans move toward \u201cplant-based\u201d diets, after months of discussions<\/a> in meetings<\/a> regarding environmentalism and food policy. DGAC said its recommendations to eat less meat are intended to \u201cmaximize environmental sustainability\u201d out of concerns for climate change.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n \u201cThe major findings regarding sustainable diets were that a diet higher in plant-based foods, such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds, and lower in calories and animal-based foods is more health promoting and is associated with less environmental impact than is the current U.S. diet,\u201d DGAC said. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n So, no more nice juicy steaks, Thanksgiving turkey or Big Macs? So what do they recommend?<\/p>\n DGAC recommended Mediterranean-style and vegetarian diets as the best options. Vegan, lacto-ovo vegetarian, pesco-vegetarian, and Mediterranean diets are the most environmentally friendly, with the least greenhouse gas emissions, it said. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n I wonder if these chowderheads, (and I am NOT giving up my clam chowder!) know that a diet high in animal fodder tends to cause people to, well lets not sugar coat it, since these moonbats want to ban sugar, fart. Pass gas, create an unfriendly aromatic environment.<\/p>\n \u201cAll of these dietary patterns are aligned with lower environmental impacts and provide options that can be adopted by the U.S. population,\u201d the report said. \u201cCurrent evidence shows that the average U.S. diet has a larger environmental impact in terms of increased greenhouse gas emissions, land use, water use, and energy use, compared to the above dietary patterns. This is because the current U.S. population intake of animal-based foods is higher and plant-based foods are lower, than proposed in these three dietary patterns.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n And to these recommendations I say, \u201cSHOVE IT WHERE THE SUN DON’T SHINE comrade. I wonder just how much these elitist scum ripped off the taxpayers for? You can bet it’s going to be in the high 8+ figure range.
