I’ve written about their abuses and outright criminal behavior off and on over the years. Now they have come up with yet another plan to enslave the American people. They want to start monitoring how much water you use when you take a shower. Here are a few details from the Free Beacon<\/a>:<\/p>\n The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wants hotels to monitor how much time its guests spend in the shower. The agency is spending $15,000 to create a wireless system that will track how much water a hotel guest uses to get them to \u201cmodify their behavior.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Oh this is going to be fun, and not in a good way. First they do a \u201cstudy,\u201d and then they expand the study, and then they issue orders that government controlled showers will be installed in all homes followed by EPA SWAT raids against people who like taking a nice long hot shower.<\/p>\n \u201cHotels consume a significant amount of water in the U.S. and around the world,\u201d an EPA grant<\/a> to the University of Tulsa reads. \u201cMost hotels do not monitor individual guest water usage and as a result, millions of gallons of potable water are wasted every year by hotel guests.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n I hate to be the one to break it to those totalitarians, but the water isn’t wasted. It’s recycled for reuse, just as it has been for the last, oh 4 BILLION years or so.<\/p>\n \u201cThe proposed work aims to develop a novel low cost wireless device for monitoring water use from hotel guest room showers,\u201d it said. \u201cThis device will be designed to fit most new and existing hotel shower fixtures and will wirelessly transmit hotel guest water usage data to a central hotel accounting system.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Followed by an automatic cutoff if you should use more then your government permitted allotment of course. Now why is the EPA putting their noses into people’s showers? They think we spend to much time in them, that’s why.<\/p>\n The EPA is concerned that the average shower, which lasts just eight minutes, uses 18 gallons of water, and has asked Americans to reduce their shower length by at least one minute. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n How about NO! Does that work for you Comrade?<\/p>\n Tyler W. Johannes, Ph.D., an associate professor in the University of Tulsa\u2019s School of Chemical Engineering who is working on the project, told the <\/i>Washington Free Beacon <\/i><\/em>that the researchers hope to see the technology \u201cadopted by all major hotels and used across the country.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Apparently not.<\/p>\n He said the device seeks to get hotel guests to limit their showers to seven minutes as a start.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n As a start? What does this hydrophobic walking dirtball think is a proper length of time to take a shower?<\/p>\n Johannes provided a link to Home Water Works, which recommends taking a five minute shower to reduce water use. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Five minutes? That isn’t even long enough to get up a good lather, never mind what a woman with long hair takes when she’s washing it. And then there are all the other things that men and women do in the shower. (Get your minds out of the gutter, this isn’t that kind of web site) Now the eventual goal of these totalitarians is to have people take what is called a \u201cNavy\u201d shower.<\/p>\n \u201cThe method requires three steps: 1) turn on water to rinse body and hair; 2) turn off water while shampooing hair and washing body with soap and washcloth; 3) resume water flow and rinse off all shampoo and soap,\u201d the group said. \u201cUsing this technique, the total duration of water flow can easily be reduced to 5 minutes or less.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Dear dumbass. Do you know why the Navy trains it’s people to take a shower like that? The reason is simple. First, there is a limited number of showers on a ship and they have a large number of crewmen. Second, they have to desalinate and purify their own water, which takes time and resources. The Navy, in fact all navies, put the priority on drinking water then showers. How about you ask members of the Navy how they shower when they are back on base and not living under water restrictions? I suspect they tend to just sit in there, (unless they have a hot date to get to), and luxuriate under the hot water. And then we have all the people who like to sing in the shower. You simply can’t get through a good aria in less then five minutes. Obviously, Dr. Johannes is a tone deaf philistine who despises the arts.<\/p>\n Now there has been an update to the Free Beacon’s story. The EPA, now that they’ve been caught out, is denying they actually were going to do this.<\/p>\n Following publication of this story, EPA deputy press secretary Laura Allen, said the \u201cEPA is not monitoring how much time hotel guests spend in the shower.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Not yet. They need to get the infrastructure built first.<\/p>\n \u201cLet us be very clear, EPA is not monitoring how much time hotel guests spend in the shower,\u201d Allen said. \u201cAs part of the People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3), a student design competition for sustainability, students at the University of Tulsa are conducting research to develop a novel low-cost wireless device for monitoring water use from hotel guest room showers. <\/span>The marketplace, not EPA, will decide if there is a demand for this type of technology. It\u2019s ultimately up to hotels to use technology like the monitors being developed at the University of Tulsa. EPA is encouraging creativity with water conservation efforts.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Now that is the typical bureaucratic non-denial denial. The EPA was probably, and still is, looking at restricting water use by Americans, \u201cFor their own good\u201d of course. Now that they’ve been caught out, they are quickly moving the idea into the shadows and chanting \u201cNothing to see here, move along.\u201d It’s not going to work. The EPA has been caught out repeatedly pulling this crap. It’s time to disband this agency.
