Good day all. A report has come out showing that the Federal Bureau of Investigation \u201cTweaked\u201d some statistics to make it seem that we had a lot more mass shootings then have actually occurred.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Normally, these reports are as accurate as the FBI can make them and avoid politics. This was before the \u201cAge of Der Fubar.\u201d Here are some details from Fox News:<\/p>\n

Crime stats published by the FBI and relied upon by the media distort the gun violence and leave the public with the impression “mass shooting” incidents are a much bigger threat than they really are, according to a criminologist and Second Amendment scholar. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Gee, I wonder why that is? I’ll give you three guesses, but you’ll only need one.<\/p>\n

The bureau’s annual reports tabulating and classifying a wide range of crime throughout the nation have been historically free of politics,<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As it should be, but then this is the \u201cAge of Der Fubar.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Der<\/a><\/p>\n

but John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center, said the latest statistics contain numbers that are misleading at best and deliberately fudged at worst. Lott believes the numbers may have been presented to overstate for political purposes the true risk of being a victim of random gun crimes.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cThe FBI put out a clearly incorrect set of numbers on public shootings shortly before the November election last year,\u201d said Lott, a frequent opinion writer for FoxNews.com and author of “More Guns, Less Crime.” \u201cI have been reading FBI reports for 30 years and I have never seen anything like this.It is one thing for the Bureau of Justice Statistics or the National Institute of Justice to put out politically biased studies, but there has always been a Chinese wall separating the FBI raw data collection from political pressures.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Just for the record, would you care to guess who the FBI reports to? It’s that bastion of integrity, Eric Holder.<\/p>\n

Asked for comment, Katherine Schweit, the FBI’s section chief of the bureau’s Active Shooter Initiative, said only Tuesday night that its report isolates active shooter incidents and evaluates available data based on methodology detailed on the FBI’s official website. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

FBI figures released last September appear to show so-called “mass shooter” attacks and deaths have dramatically increased since 2000. The report asserted there were a total 160 such incidents in public places between 2000 and 2013, with attacks dramatically increased to 17 in 2013 from just one in 2000.<\/i> The statistics also showed murders jumping to 86 from just seven over the span.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Even to my untrained eye, that doesn’t look right to me.<\/p>\n

But Lott’s group said a major flaw is the fact that the data was gleaned from news reports, and noted recent accounts were more accessible, and thus over-represented. Recent cases of the far more common \u201cactive shooting incidents\u201d were added to legitimate cases of mass shooting incidents, making the more recent years covered by the report appear to have a large increase in both mass shootings and deaths from them.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The FBI gathered the data from the Mostly Stupid Media? I, like pretty much everyone else, assumed that they were generating their stats from actual crime reports filed by law enforcement agencies. If they just pulled stuff from the Media, then this report is garbage and whoever wrote it needs to be looking for another job, preferably at Burger King.<\/p>\n

A counter report by the CPRC<\/a> shows that if the biases and errors were corrected, the Bureau\u2019s data would show that the annual growth rate for homicides in mass shootings had been cut in half, Lott said.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That’s a pretty big difference.<\/p>\n

He suspects manipulation, and not merely mistakes.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So it wasn’t an error or even incompetence? Why am I not surprised? John Lott isn’t surprised by this either.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe administration has obviously been willing to do a lot to push for gun control; with everything from \u2018Operation Choke Point\u2019 to \u2018Fast and Furious,\u2019 and this is just part of that push. Given the level of politicization in [the] Department of Justice, this is not particularly surprising.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Obama, Holder and the other totalitarians aren’t interested in gun control, they want outright bans and confiscations. The reason they want an unarmed population is simple. The majority of Americans detest what Obama, the Democrats and their RINO fellow travelers have been doing.<\/p>\n

Last year we saw a reaction at the Bundy Ranch that had the potential of starting \u201cReally bad things.\u201d Only the BLM’s pulling out so suddenly prevented what could have been a shooting war between citizens and the Federal Government. This is the main reason the Progressives are so hot to disarm the citizenry.<\/p>\n

J<\/i>ames Alan Fox, a professor of criminology, law, and public policy at Northeastern University, agreed that the FBI numbers were being misinterpreted to overstate the incidents and risks of mass shootings. But he blamed the media, not the FBI.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well I blame both. I expect nothing less from the media, but I was expecting far better from the FBI. Silly me.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe media misinterpreted the report,\u201d Fox said. \u201cAn active shooter incident is not the same as a mass shooting.\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n

No kidding.<\/p>\n

Fox said using news reports to compile crime statistics is not a reliable method, and said his own research has found no upward trend in mass shootings.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

No kidding. However, Professor Obvious did miss the whole point of the exercise. It’s to provide ammunition to the government to strip away the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. It used to be that the sheep<\/i><\/span> people used to believe that the Government would protect them. We have learned the fallacy of that as more and more people use forearms to defend themselves, their families and their neighbors from criminals.<\/p>\n

Gun sales are through the roof and gun ranges are swamped with people practicing as well as learning how to handle a firearm safely. More and more women are also taking up the shooting, both for sport and as a means to protect themselves from criminals.<\/p>\n

\"Rape<\/a><\/p>\n

The progressives are enraged that the people have voted and continue to vote with their wallets, (buying guns, ammo and training), and with their ballots, (Voting out the gun grabbers and those who wold make it easier for criminals to victimize the citizens). This report is just the latest in a long line of lies, deceit and outright criminal acts by the Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrats in their attempts to turn America into something it isn’t. I’ll let you decide what that might be.<\/p>\n
