Now for some due diligence. I have not yet sen this movie, nor have I read the book it is based on. Both are on my list of things to do. The basic story is about Chris Kyle, who became the highest scoring sniper in the United States Military. He wrote a book about his experiences, primarily to aid him with his stress. The book was then made into a highly successful movie that was nominated for a number of Academy awards. Politics got involved so the film didn’t win the best picture award as it should have.<\/p>\n
The film has been shown all over the world, and was scheduled to be played at the University of Michigan. Then the perpetually offended class went to work, and right on schedule, the university promptly caved and canceled the showing. Here are a few more details from The Collage Fix<\/a>:<\/p>\n A scheduled movie screening of \u201cAmerican Sniper\u201d at the University of Michigan was abruptly cancelled Tuesday after nearly 300 students and others complained the film perpetuates \u201cnegative and misleading stereotypes\u201d against Muslims.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Translation, it showed just what Islam actually is. The left certainly can’t allow that in their march towards turning the United States into rubble.<\/p>\n \u201cThe movie American Sniper not only tolerates but promotes anti-Muslim \u2026 rhetoric and sympathizes with a mass killer,\u201d according to an online letter circulated among the campus community via Google Docs that garnered the signatures.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The signers were mostly students, but also some staff, as well as the Muslim Students\u2019 Association and the president of Students Allied for Freedom and Equality, a Palestinian solidarity group at UMich.<\/i><\/p>\n In other words, hard core leftists and Jew hating neo-Nazi’s? (And if anyone waves Godwins law at me, you would be advised to read his caveats. Basically, if the jackboot fits, then goosestep in it)<\/p>\n The online memo<\/a>, titled a \u201ccollective letter from Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) and Muslim students on campus,\u201d accused the public university of \u201ctolerating dangerous anti-Muslim and anti-MENA propaganda\u201d by showing the movie, the highest grossing film of 2014. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The propaganda arm of the Islamic radicals has been quite successful on collage campuses, particularly among the \u201cintelligentsia\u201d that are better known as \u201cTenured Professors.\u201d Not one of these idiots understands what Islam is truly like. ISIS is more the rule then the exception.<\/p>\n In any case, U-Gutless caved in to them and canceled the film. They know that if they didn’t, the Islamic groups would do what they always do. Riot, Burn and murder. Unfortunately for the University, word got out and the humiliation of the administration began. They finally caved in, again, and allowed the showing of the film. (What a pack of useless cowards. They can’t even stand by their original bad decision) Here are some of those details from Fox News:<\/p>\n The University of Michigan said late Wednesday that it will show the film “American Sniper” as originally scheduled after a protest by students and staff caused the screening to be scrapped.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n University Vice President for Student Life E. Royster Harper called the decision to cancel the Friday night showing a “mistake” in a statement.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Gee, ya think?<\/p>\n “The initial decision to cancel the movie was not consistent with the high value the University of Michigan places on freedom of expression and our respect for the right of students to make their own choices in such matters,” Harper said. “The movie will be shown at the originally scheduled time and location.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Harper added that the university will also screen the family-friendly film “Paddington” as an alternative.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n I think the perfect phrase here would be \u201cWhat a bunch of whining wimps!\u201d<\/p>\n “American Sniper”, which stars Bradley Cooper as former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, was originally scheduled to be shown as part of a university-sponsored social event called UMix. However, the screening was canceled after a protest letter garnered more than 300 signatures. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n And what did these treasonous scum have to say in their petition?<\/p>\n “The movie ‘American Sniper\u2019 not only tolerates but promotes anti-Muslim and anti-MENA [Muslim, Middle Eastern and North African] rhetoric and sympathizes with a mass killer,” the letter read in part. “Chris Kyle was a racist who took a disturbing stance on murdering Iraqi civilians.” <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Now, as a reminder, I have not seen this film nor read the book. However, I am aware of how snipers are trained and somewhat aware of the rules of engagement they are required to follow. Anyone they are targeting is a threat to them and to American forces. Snipers generally sit in one area for a lengthy period of time, scouting out the area and learning who might be a threat, and more importantly, who isn’rt a threat. They do NOT just shoot at anything that moves. That’s something Muslim snipers do. In any case, the reaction against the Umich administration was fast.<\/p>\n The <\/i>cancellation<\/i> drew a strong reaction, and The Michigan Daily<\/a> reported that a third-year Law School student named Rachel Jankowski circulated a petition calling on the university’s Center for Campus Involvement to restore “American Sniper” to the UMix schedule. The university’s football coach, Jim Harbaugh, weighed in on the controversy by tweeting that he would watch the movie with his team.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Good for them!<\/p>\n Before Harper’s statement, the Center for Campus Involvement had announced plans to show “American Sniper” in a separate location from the UMix program, in what it said would be “a forum that provides an appropriate space for dialogue and reflection.” <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Reflection? How about you reflect this you slimy yellow cowards? We are at war with Islam. We have been at war for over 1000 years. Islam is not a religion, certainly NOT a \u201cReligion of Peace.\u201d (May George W. Bush suffer the bites of 10,000 fleas in his crotch for that remark) Their goal is world conquest and forced conversion. You and people like you refuse to believe this. Even now, as ISIS is wrecking an entire city filled with ancient treasures, you won’t accept the fact that they will kill you in a heartbeat if it serves their purposes. Thanks to the idiot in the White House, we’re probably looking at the first use of nuclear weapons since Nagasaki in the next 5 or so years. What will you say then?
