Now they want to fix that problem. (Never mind that they caused it in the first place) Here are some details from Associated Press:

A different health care issue has emerged for Democrats, in sync with the party’s pitch to workers and middle-class voters ahead of next year’s elections. It’s not the uninsured, but rather the problem of high out-of-pocket costs for people already covered. Democrats call it “underinsurance.”

Oh great. They want to “Help us” again.

After paying premiums, many low- and middle-income patients still face high costs when trying to use their coverage. There’s growing concern that the value of a health insurance card is being eaten away by rising deductibles, the amount of actual medical costs that patients pay each year before coverage kicks in.

To begin with, the so called “Insurance” that people were forced to buy, pretty much at gunpoint, sucks. It’s way overpriced, and doesn’t cover they things people need. Worse, they are forced to buy insurance that covers things that they will never ever need. How many women are going to need a proctological exam for instance? How many men are going to need prenatal care? It’s these mandates that dive up the cost of health insurance.

“I think it’s going to be the next big problem,” said Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., a congressional leader on health care. We’ve got some 17 million more people covered … but they can’t access the care they seem to be entitled to,” McDermott said. “It costs too much to use the care. Here they come again! The article goes on to quote one leftist group after another on how bad all this is, and totally misses the actual causes of the problem. Of course, this is the Associated (with Communists, Terrorists and other haters of Freedom), Press, so the biases in the article aren’t surprising at all.

The way to fix this problem is a total and complete repeal of Obamacare. It is the problem, not a solution. Of course, when people call for a repeal, the Moonbats start barking, usually saying that “You don’t care about people!” (Which is true, I don’t), and that you don’t have anything better to put in place. (Which is dead wrong)

There are several ideas floating around out there. Here are a few that I’ve thought of or heard about. First, get rid of all the mandated coverages. Let people buy what they need. If the Moonbats want to help, then they can offer suggestions on what someone might want for coverage. Young and healthy people generally don’t need the same levels of coverages that someone older might need. They just need coverages for sudden, catastrophic illnesses or injuries.

Second, let insurance companies sell across state lines. They do this for car insurance, and home insurance. It allows the insurance companies to increase the pool of people paying into the system. This allows them to lower costs. They also use that money to invest it to increase their assets in case something comes along that requires them to pay out at a greater level then they expected.

Third, end the tax breaks for businesses that provide health insurance and transfer it to the employee. A business might put together a plan, or it might offer recommendations to it’s employees. They might work with various insurance companies to aid their employees in finding the best deal they can. Or they might do nothing at all. The employee pays for their insurance in full, and any tax deductions, (Such as a Health Savings Account), go to them.

There are other ideas out there, and no doubt they could be easily and cheaply implemented. The government’s role should only be to insure that people get what they contracted for. If an insurance company tries to play games, then the government, (Starting at the state level), can come in and lower the boom on the insurance company.

Of course, my three ideas, along with all the others I’m aware of have one thing in common. They take power away from the government, (Primarily the bureaucrats), and transfer it back where I belongs. The individual. All government should do, other then make sure the agreements between insurance company and client are kept, is provide information.

The PLFD’s, of course, can’t allow people to have any real choices. It means that the over-educated elites who think they should control all aspects of someone’s life won’t be needed. Why, however will the underclasses manage without the dead hand of government running things for them. Yes, that was sarcasm. We don’t need more government intrusions into our lives, we need far less.

Thatisall

~The Angry Webmaster~

[yasr_visitor_votes size=”medium”]

Good day all.
