After I posted that story, a news alert came out from Mecca, the Islamic Holy city. A massive crane toppled over, killing over 100 Muslim pilgrims. Here are a few details from the Daily Mail<\/a>:<\/p>\n

A Saudi official has confirmed that the annual hajj to Mecca will go ahead, despite the horrific crane disaster that killed 107 people and wounded 238 in the city yesterday. The tragedy occurred when a crane crashed through the ceiling of the Grand Mosque of Mecca, the largest mosque in the world, amid high winds and thunderstorms on Friday afternoon.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pictures taken before the disaster show the crane being struck by a bolt of lightning and authorities are in little doubt extreme weather was to blame.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now if I were a deeply religious person, I would say that the Judeo-Christian God had finally had enough of the followers of that murdering child molesting bandit and was sending a message his way. I’m sure that someone didn’t get into the site, loosen a few critical bolts and get some revenge for the World Trade Center, Pentagon and Flight 93.<\/p>\n
