Good day all. If you’ve followed my musings, you’ve noticed that I talk about politics and generally bad things happening. Today I have some really terrific news. A 2 year old who wandered away from home was found alive after missing for 2 days.<\/p>\n

The toddler, Rainn Peterson, wandered away from her great grandparents home Friday night. She was found on Sunday, Here’s the happy story from Fox News:<\/p>\n

A 2-year-old Ohio girl who disappeared from her great-grandparents’ house Friday night was found alive in a nearby field Sunday evening. Fox 8 reported<\/a> that Rainn Peterson was located approximately one mile south of the home where she had last been seen. She was taken to a local hospital and reported to be in stable condition. <\/i><\/p>\n

Trumbull County Sheriff Tom Altiere told the station that the little girl was found by a volunteer searcher who was riding through the field on a four-wheeler. Authorities said Rainn was wearing the purple shirt and gray pants she was reported to be wearing when she disappeared. “She appears okay and we are so thankful,” Altiere told the station <\/i><\/p>\n

Normally when something like this happens, it ends in tragedy. The people searching for the lost child kick themselves for not being able to find the little one. I don’t need to mention what the family goes through. When something like this happens, it’s time to break out the beer and have a party. The excitement from the searcher who found the little girl carried across the entire county.<\/p>\n

The volunteer who found the baby told a 911 dispatcher he came across the missing child sleeping in some tall grass. “I found baby Rainn and she’s alive!” were the unidentified man’s first words to the dispatcher. <\/i><\/p>\n

At one point during the call, the baby can be heard crying in the background. <\/i>“Is that her I hear?” the dispatcher asks. “I hear her. Oh, I just got goosebumps.” “Oh my God, me too,” the caller said. “I couldn’t give up on this kid. Thank God.”<\/i><\/p>\n

Obviously there will be an investigation on how Rainn managed to get out of the house. I suspect she pushed a door open and just wandered outside. Two year olds love to get into things or out of things if they can. Thankfully, this has a happy ending.<\/p>\n
