Why does an agency who’s mandate is cleaning up the environment, (when they aren’t poisoning it in the first place<\/a>), need to field military forces in the first place? Here are the details from the Washington Times<\/a>:<\/p>\n The Environmental Protection Agency<\/a> has spent millions of dollars over the last decade on military-style weapons to arm its 200 \u201cspecial agents\u201d to fight environmental crime. <\/i>Among the weapons purchased are guns, body armor, camouflage equipment, unmanned aircraft, amphibious assault ships, radar and night-vision gear and other military-style weaponry and surveillance activities, according to a new report by the watchdog group Open the Books. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Amphibious assault ships? So the EPA is also forming it’s own Marine Corp? I suspect the real Marines<\/a> might be a bit annoyed with that.<\/p>\n \u201cProtecting the environment just got real. With millions of dollars spent on military style weaponry, the EPA<\/a> is now literally ensconced with all institutional force,\u201d said Adam Andrzejewski, founder of Open the Books and the author of the report. <\/i><\/p>\n \u201cOur report discovered that when the EPA<\/a> comes knocking they are armed with a thousand lawyers, arrest\/criminal data, credit, business and property histories, plus a \u2018Special Agent\u2019 with the latest in weaponry and technology,\u201d Mr. Andrzejewski added.<\/i><\/p>\n That doesn’t sound like a law enforcement agency, that sounds more like a secret police force to me.<\/p>\n The agency<\/a> spends nearly $75 million each year for criminal enforcement, including money for a small militia of 200 \u201cspecial agents\u201d charged with fighting environmental crime.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Special Agents? That must be the new name for \u201cGoon squad.\u201d<\/p>\n Congress granted police powers to the EPA<\/a> in 1988, during the Reagan administration.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n And that was a really bad idea, considering just how abusive and fanatical the EPA has become.<\/p>\n The special agent \u201cenforces the nation\u2019s laws by investigating cases, collecting evidence, conducting forensic analyses and providing legal guidance to assist in the prosecution of criminal conduct that threatens people\u2019s health and the environment,\u201d according to the EPA<\/a>\u2019s website.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Translation, \u201cWe throw people in jail, steal their property, deny them their constitutional rights and soon will summarily execute them for the crime of existing in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n The EPA<\/a>\u2019s military weapons spending is just one example of the agency<\/a>\u2019s questionable purchases highlighted in the 40-page report.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Questionable? This isn’t questionable. This is exactly what His Royal Incompetence, King Putt promised years ago when he said he wanted a police force as well equipped as the United States military. My question is simple. Do the rank and file members of Congress know about Gina McCarthy’s<\/a> secret police force? I suspect that they don’t.<\/p>\n I think it’s only a matter of time before these \u201cLaw enforcement agents\u201d are used against some family in Wyoming and we end up with another Bundy Ranch<\/a> or Branch Davidian<\/a> mess. The EPA is already out of control now, and allowing them to have this kind of firepower is just asking for another bloodbath.
