Here are the details from the StarTribune<\/a>:<\/p>\n A Burnsville DFLer\u2019s campaign for the state House abruptly ended Sunday morning within hours of him posting on social media that ISIS \u201cisn\u2019t necessarily evil\u201d and is \u201cmade up of people doing what they think is best for their community.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The Twitter posting Saturday by Dan Kimmel, coming as the world\u2019s emotions remain raw from Friday\u2019s terror attacks in Paris, brought swift rebuke from others on Twitter. House Minority Leader Paul Thissen, DFL-Minneapolis, called for Kimmel to give up his campaign.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Which is exactly what this moron has done.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m folding up the campaign tent,\u201d Kimmel told the Star Tribune. He later issued a written apology and called his tweet \u201cstupid,\u201d adding that it\u2019s probably best for him to \u201cshut up\u201d for the time being.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n What is it with Progressives? Are they so brain dead that even when hit in the back of the head with a Clue x 4 they still refuse to acknowledge pure evil when they see it? Ick? What is he, five years old or something?<\/p>\n Kimmel, 63, tried to explain himself, posting in a follow-up, \u201cI deplore evil acts of ISIS. I do not defend their acts.\u201d Kimmel\u2019s tweets also were posted on his campaign\u2019s Facebook page. <\/i>In further elaboration on Sunday, Kimmel wrote on his campaign\u2019s website, \u201cMy tweet last evening was in response to a statement made during the candidate debates, not in response to the activities in Paris. It was poorly worded and did not convey my intent.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Keep digging dumbass.<\/p>\n Kimmel added that he wants to \u201capologize to the volunteers and contributors who have put so much time, effort and money into my campaign. \u2026 I will do everything I can to help resolve the issue: most likely the best thing for me to do is shut up. The tweet was stupid. I\u2019m sorry.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Well, at least he had the common sense to give up his campaign. I suspect the only votes he would have gotten would have been from the 5-10% of the DFL’s who are even more delusional than he is. Or he might have been trying for the ISIS vote. Minnesota has the dubious distinction of sending the most ISIS recruits to the Middle East than any other state in the union. Why?
