I didn’t watch the debate, since I had a book to read that was more interesting. From reading the reports and reviews, it sounds like the new GOP Establishment’s dark haired boy did a fin impression of a robot with his responses. This led the GOP(e)’s other \u201cFair haired boys\u201d to nuke Rubio from orbit, since that was the only way to be sure. Here are some of the details from the Washington Post<\/a>:<\/p>\n Marco Rubio\u2019s robotic debate performance Saturday night sparked an all-out offensive on the campaign trail here Sunday over his authenticity and experience, momentarily halting the momentum of the senator from Florida and further muddling the presidential nomination battle.<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n \u201cMomentarily halting the momentum?\u201d Are they kidding? Rubio, aka \u201cThe Flamingo Dancer\u201d doesn’t have any real momentum. His record in the Senate can be summed up in three words. \u201cAmnesty for Illegals!\u201d That’s his weak spot, so to speak and considering the feelings of the majority of Americans regarding illegal immigration, it’s more along the lines of a gaping hole in the Flamingo Dancer’s armor.<\/p>\n Just two days before the New Hampshire primary, Rubio drew mockery for repeating a rehearsed line four times during the Republican candidates\u2019 debate, even after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie had ridiculed him for being a talking-point machine.<\/strong><\/p>\n Rubio received scathing reviews on the Sunday talk shows and was needled by some of his opponents. On Twitter, he earned the moniker \u201cRubio bot.\u201d Clips of the debate played repeatedly on cable news and were watched hundreds of thousands of times on YouTube.<\/b><\/p>\n [youtuber youtube=’http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SdY-t4MRqxw’]<\/p>\n Oh brother. Isn’t the Flamingo Dancer’s strong point supposed to be debating? Perhaps I should change his moniker to \u201cRubot.\u201d<\/p>\n The episode interrupted Rubio\u2019s week-long effort to build on his impressive third-place showing in the Iowa caucuses and consolidate donors and party officials behind him. <\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Impressive? I don’t think so. He spent a lot more money than the second place winner, Donald Trump. In point of fact, Trump spent very little money. If he had actually built his ground game in Iowa, Trump probably would have won with Cruz as second. I also suspect that if Cruz hadn’t pulled his dirty tricks on Carson, he would have come in third and Rubot wouldn’t be in the position he find himself. Incapable of thinking on his feet and only able to repeat a preprogrammed list of phrases.<\/p>\n I<\/b>t also appeared to give new life to the struggling candidacies of Christie, former Florida governor Jeb Bush and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, while improving Donald Trump\u2019s chances of winning the New Hampshire Republican primary.<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Bush isn’t going to win anything except the \u201cBiggest Loser\u201d award. Kasich announced that he should be a Democrat, probably as an option to the Democrat National Committee that they don’t have to stick with Cankles, Comrade Bernie and Slow Joe Biden. As for Christie? Just throw a box of Krispy Kreme’s at him and he will forget all about the election.<\/p>\n The fallout for Rubio over the long term could be severe. His GOP rivals argued Sunday that the debate undercut the central case for Rubio\u2019s candidacy \u2014 that his political agility and youthful, charismatic persona make him best positioned to challenge the Democratic nominee.<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Agility? Being a Flamingo Dancer does not make one intellectually agile. This is why he’s now known a Marco the Rubot.<\/p>\n And they claimed a renewed \u2014 and seemingly justifiable \u2014 rationale to soldier on past New Hampshire, which would mean that the mainstream Republican vote would probably continue to splinter among several candidates.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n That sounds to me like the Post is hoping for a brokered convention where Trump or Cruz, who will probably be the top delegate winners will cut out, and the nomination given to one of the RINO’s, probably Bush or Kasich.<\/p>\n \u201cThe whole race changed last night,\u201d Christie said Sunday on CNN. \u201cThere was a march amongst some in the chattering class to anoint Senator Rubio. I think after last night, that\u2019s over. I think there could be four or five tickets now out of New Hampshire because the race is so unsettled now.\u201d<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Much as I hate to say it, when he’s right, he’s right. The chattering classes hate Cruz and despise Trump, which is why they’ve been saying \u201cTrump is imploding! It’s all over for Trump!\u201d Yeah, no. He’s not going anywhere and neither is Cruz. The Jersey Whale on the other hand…<\/p>\n Bush also sounded reinvigorated by the difficulties of the otherwise polished Rubio, his onetime Florida protege who has overshadowed him all year. <\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Pretty much everyone has overshadowed Juan! Bush this year. Even Vermin Supreme<\/a> is polling better than Bush is in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n \u201cI envy the people that have, you know, message discipline, to say the same thing over and over again,\u201d Bush told a standing-room-only crowd in Salem. \u201cSometimes it doesn\u2019t work out.\u201d<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Standing room only? Must have been held in a broom closet.<\/p>\n Rubio, for his part, came out swinging in a series of events. He was defiant as he defended his debate-night talking point that portrayed President Obama as a wily operator who has succeeded in enacting a liberal agenda.<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Wait for it. Here it comes.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to say it again,\u201d Rubio told a gathering in Londonderry. \u201cThe reason why these things are in trouble is because Barack Obama is the first president, at least in my lifetime, that wants to change the country.\u201d<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Nothing like doubling down on stupid to show people that you are presidential material.<\/p>\n There was a growing sense on the ground in recent days that Rubio might surf a wave of buzz and goodwill to contend for the top spot, but party strategists said the debate probably closed whatever opening may have existed.<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Yeah, that wave lasted less than a week. The wishful thinking of the GOP Establishment, K Street lobbyists and the mostly stupid media were hoping that the Rubot could stop Trump and maintain the gravy train they’ve been enjoying for a generation.<\/p>\n \u201cMarco is in a very strong position to be the nominee,\u201d said Sen. Patrick J. Toomey (R-Pa.), who endorsed Rubio last week. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a fight, it\u2019s going to be a battle, it\u2019s going to take a while to put it all to bed, I suspect, but he\u2019ll do it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Marco The Rubot won’t be the nominee unless the GOP(e) pulls some of their usual games. We’ve already had the experience of a one term senator skating his way into the oval office. The only difference between Marco the Rubot and Der Fubar is that the Flamingo Dancer isn’t out to destroy the United States, at least not on purpose.
