It’s the end of May and so far the totalitarian state that President \t\tObama and the Democrats want to create is proceeding rapidly. To date he \t\thas seized control of two of the three auto manufacturers, (GM & \t\tChrysler) and has been happily destroying the credit and housing \t\tmarkets.<\/p>\n
Friday, this little gem appeared on the Whitehouse.gov blog from \t\tNorm \t\tEisen, special counsel to the president for ethics and government reform<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n Update \t\ton Recovery Act Lobbying Rules: New Limits on Special Interest Influence<\/p>\n There’s the usual boilerplate they put out and then this shows up”<\/p>\n Following OMB\u2019s review, the Administration has decided to make a \t\tnumber of changes to the rules that we think make them even tougher on \t\tspecial interests and more focused on merits-based decision making. <\/em><\/p>\n First, we will expand the restriction on oral communications to cover \t\tall persons, not just federally registered lobbyists.\u00a0 For the first \t\ttime, we will reach contacts not only by registered lobbyists but also \t\tby unregistered ones, as well as anyone else exerting influence on the \t\tprocess.\u00a0 We concluded this was necessary under the unique circumstances \t\tof the stimulus program.<\/em> (Italics mine)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Mr. Eisen was speaking in regards to the Porkulas bailouts and how \t\tpeople really aren’t happy with them. It seems a large number of people \t\thave been contacting their representatives and giving them an earful. \t\tAlso a number of companies and organizations have been hiring lobbyists \t\tto yell loudly regarding the bailouts.<\/p>\n Well it seems these people have been heard and Mr. Eisen, the \t\tDemocrats and “The One” want to put a stop to it. This measure is being \t\tportrayed as a limit on professional lobbyists, but if used literally it \t\tsuppresses the First Amendment right of anyone to petition the \t\tgovernment for a redress of grievances.<\/p>\n Needless to say, a lot of people have been petitioning the Congress \t\twith regards to the massive spending now taking place. People are also \t\tvery upset with the plans to destroy the healthcare system now in the \t\tworks, not to mention the massive new taxes and energy rationing planned \t\tunder the phony “Cap&Trade” system now being rammed through congress.<\/p>\n So, what are we going to do about this threat to our freedom? We \t\tsuggest that you contact your representative and senators and tell them \t\tthat this must stop now.
