I’ll leave that to others who are more knowledgeable than I. As to why he is being asked to step down? It’s for the same reason Cameron is packing up his office. Corbyn backed the “Remain” side of the Brexit vote.

The main opposition party’s lawmakers earlier passed an overwhelming vote of no confidence and many called for him to step down as party leader. Wouldn’t that include those “Grass roots” Corbyn is counting on?

The Labor Party backed staying in the bloc but many said Corbyn campaigned poorly. As I understand it, in Great Britain, the party structure is superior to the individual. This is one of the reasons Cameron is stepping down. He backed Remain and lost big. Because of this, his party can say that his judgment in important matters is questionable. Ergo, out the door he goes. Corbyn seems to not understand this.

“I was democratically elected leader of our party for a new kind of politics by 60 percent of Labour members and supporters, and I will not betray them by resigning,” Corbyn responded. “Today’s vote by MPs has no constitutional legitimacy.”

[youtuber youtube=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_8YTa_-hZw’]

Umm, as I understand it this has nothing whatsoever to do with the British nation and everything to do with internal politics of the Labour Party. So it doesn’t matter if it’s “Constitutional” or not. The governing authority here are the rules of the Labour Party. Right now, the rules state that this vote was nonbinding.
