The treaty in question is the Paris Climate Accord and is yet another attempt by the Progressive Totalitarians to destroy the economy, sovereignty and freedom of America and Americans. In the normal course of events, this would be sent to the Senate for ratification. Since the treaty is so destructive to the United States, there is no way it would have made it through the Senate.<\/p>\n
Obama\u2019s answer to this was typical. \u201cSenate ratification? I don\u2019t need no Senate ratification. I can ratify this myself!\u201d Now the White House is trying to justify this latest blatantly illegal power grab by Der Fubar. Here are the details from Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n The White House on Monday defended President Obama\u2019s decision to enter into the Paris<\/a> climate accord without Senate ratification but stopped short of confirming a Chinese report that he will do so this week during his trip to China<\/a>. <\/b><\/p>\n Still, it would surprise no one if Mr. Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping were to announce the ratification of the sweeping climate change agreement before the Sunday opening of the Group of 20 summit in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. <\/b><\/p>\n Of course not. Obama thinks he\u2019s the king and can do whatever he likes. Submit a treaty to the senate knowing it will be shot down? Baah! \u201cI\u2019ll just ratify it myself!\u201d<\/p>\n White House senior adviser Brian Deese<\/a> said the president has the legal authority to ratify the accord without the two-thirds Senate vote required for treaties. He said the pact negotiated by 195 countries in December is merely an \u201cexecutive agreement.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cThe president will use his authority that has been used in dozens of executive agreements in the past to join and formally deposit our instrument of acceptance, and therefore put our country as a party to the Paris<\/a> Agreement,\u201d Mr. Deese<\/a> said at a White House press conference. <\/b><\/p>\n He noted that both presidents announced in March that they \u201cwould seek to formally join the Paris<\/a> Agreement in 2016.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s a process that is quite well-established in our existing legal system and in the context of international agreements and international arrangements,\u201d Mr. Deese<\/a> said. \u201cThere is a category of them that are treaties that require advice and consent from the Senate, but there\u2019s a broad category of executive agreements where the executive can enter into those agreements without that advice and consent.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Wrong. The President does NOT have that authority. If he tries to shove this down the throats of America, it can be and will be ignored.<\/p>\n Republicans have insisted that the accord requires Senate ratification and warned the Obama administration as well as international leaders that Congress will not be bound by an agreement ratified by unilateral executive action. <\/b><\/p>\n Obama\u2019s contempt for the Constitution knows no bounds. He\u2019s already been slapped down hard by the supreme court, with regards to recess appointments. If he tries this, by the time it gets into court, he will be out of office, and President Trump will toss it into the Potomec.<\/p>\n Myron Ebell, director of the Competitive Enterprise Institute\u2019s Center for Energy and Environment, predicted Monday that Mr. Obama will \u201cpretend to ratify the treaty in China<\/a>.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Would this be similar to his \u201cPretending\u201d to be \u201cConstitutional Scholar?\u201d Oh wait! He thinks he is!<\/p>\n \u201cWhat could be more insulting to our Constitution than \u2018ratifying\u2019 it in the presence of the Chinese president-dictator?\u201d asked Mr. Ebell, who opposes the deal. \u201cAnd what could be more appropriate, since, like Xi, Obama is unaccountable?\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n China is an authoritarian\/totalitarian state. The United States isn\u2019t, no matter how hard Obama and the Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrats want it to be.<\/p>\n Climate change skeptics dismissed the anticipated executive ratification as a sham designed to prop up Mr. Obama\u2019s legacy. <\/b><\/p>\n A sham ratification by a sham president. That sounds about right. As for that SCoaMF\u2019s legacy? Oh he has one alright, I just don\u2019t think it\u2019s the one he thinks it is.<\/p>\n Climate Depot\u2019s Marc Morano predicted that \u201cObama will surely do his best play-acting and pretend the \u2018ratification\u2019 has actual meaning, but as a former constitutional law professor, even he knows better.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n King Putt was never a \u201cConstitutional Law professor.\u201d He was a community organizer and a con man, nothing more.<\/p>\n Critics fear that the executive branch will use the Paris<\/a> Agreement, while not legally binding, to enact sweeping climate policies without Congress.<\/b><\/p>\n Of that I have no doubt.<\/p>\n Mr. Obama has argued that urgent action is needed. \u201cNo challenge poses a great threat to future generations than climate change,\u201d he said last year. <\/b><\/p>\n Mr. Deese<\/a> credited the president with reaching out to China<\/a> to reset the international malaise on climate change that followed the failed 1997 Kyoto Protocol and the 2009 Copenhagen Summit, which resulted in a weak accord that was not adopted.<\/b><\/p>\n Do you know why the Kyoto Protocol was rejected by the Senate? It would have been a complete disaster for the United States. It was designed to basically ruin the economy of America for what has turned out to be a bogus scientific hypothesis. Remember \u201cGlobal Warming\u201d and how the Earth was going to turn into another Venus if we didn\u2019t \u201cDo Something right now!\u201d? Yeah, the massive blizzards sort of killed that idea.<\/p>\n Now that Global Warming has been discredited, the new \u201cBig Thing\u201d is \u201cClimate Change.\u201d The climate is changing and it\u2019s all due to human activity. In order to stop the climate from changing, we must all surrender our wealth and liberties to a ruling class of progressive elites who will then parcel out resources.<\/p>\n Yeah, that\u2019s a big load of horse manure as well. The whole Global Warming\/Climate Change business has been nothing more than an attempt to institute a global rule by the elites such as George Soros, Warren Buffet and the clowns running the European Union into the ground. Bypassing Congress again is part and parcel for this clown and will fail.
