To say that the Democrat Party is in a full blown panic would be a slight understatement. Rumors are starting to come out that the Party Poobah\u2019s and commissars are looking at their options. The question is, will they replace her and with whom? Here are some details from Heatstreet<\/a>:<\/p>\n Hillary Clinton\u2019s doctor now says the Democratic presidential candidate, 68, was officially diagnosed with pneumonia<\/a> sometime on Friday, and has been campaigning with the serious respiratory illness for a week, leading to her \u201cmedical episode\u201d at Sunday morning\u2019s September 11th memorial event.<\/b><\/p>\n And if you believe that, I have a bridge I want to sell you. However, I did read something this morning with regards to pneumonia and how it could be caused by Parkinson\u2019s Disease. Something about problems swallowing correctly and stuff going into the lungs? It would also help explain all the coughing. In any case, what happens if the Democrats decide to put the Clintons down like the diseased animals they are?<\/p>\n But what happens if the candidate\u2019s health issues get more serious? Certainly, the Democrats always have the option of propping her up, <\/b>Weekend at Bernie\u2019s<\/a> <\/b><\/em>style, until after November 8th, but what if matters get progressively worse? Here\u2019s a quick primer on where the Dems could end up: <\/b><\/p>\n Well, the Secret Service does have a lot of experience of late hoisting Cankles around like a sack of wet noodles. I’m sure they can drag her around and prop her up for a few more months.<\/p>\n When it comes to candidates (rather than office holders) the rules actually come from the political parties, not the Constitution. For Republicans, if a Presidential candidate dies or drops out, the RNC has to either convene a new convention or take an official poll<\/a> of the RNC\u2019s state representatives to select a replacement candidate. Most likely, the RNC would move the running mate up to the top of the bill, in order to preserve what fundraising has already been done for the ticket.<\/b><\/p>\n And the Never Trumpers have been clambering for that to happen since Trump accepted the nomination. The Democrats, on the other hand, don\u2019t seem to have anything in place for this eventuality.<\/p>\n But for the Democrats, it\u2019s not so clear. The Democratic National Committee reserves the right to replace a candidate who dies or drops out<\/a>, and it doesn\u2019t provide additional details in its by-laws. So presumably the Democrats would have to make up the process up as they go along. The DNC could entrust replacing Clinton to a central DNC brain trust or, more likely, replicate the RNC\u2019s system, handing the vote over to the committee\u2019s state delegates. <\/b><\/p>\n How typical of the Party of Feelz. No plan on what to do if Cankles croaks. Once again, it will be up to the Republicans to show them how to get things done. The next question would be, if they do decide to ship Hillary off to the Soylent Green<\/a> plant, who do they choose to replace her? The first choice would be Tim Kaine.<\/p>\n The DNC would likely want to retain the support of major donors who\u2019ve already given to the Clinton-Kaine ticket, and would probably just bump Tim Kaine up from the Veep slot. Kaine would simply slide up the ticket, choose a new running mate, hope the ballots could be reprinted in time, and carry on just as Clinton had. <\/b><\/p>\n There are a few issues with that one. To begin with, Kaine didn\u2019t go through the primaries. Yes, they were rigged to make sure Hillary was the nominee, (And you can bet the Democrats are kicking themselves for letting Debbie Whatshername Schultz do that), but she still went through the vetting process. Kaine was picked up at the Convention.<\/p>\n Then there is Comrade Sellout Bernie Sanders. By rights, he would have been the nominee if the whole thing hadn\u2019t been rigged against him, and he wasn\u2019t such a blithering idiot, (Well he is a socialist and that does go hand in hand), about not using Cankles email issues against her. Besides, Comrade Bernie not only nuked all the bridges to his supporters, he\u2019s also bailed out on the Democrat Party. I doubt they will even consider him again. Who else might they look at?<\/p>\n The DNC might naturally lean towards Joe Biden who said he didn\u2019t want to campaign, but has never said, openly, that he\u2019d prefer not to be President. Biden is neither Clinton nor Trump, making him an easy favorite in the Presidential contest (though, it\u2019s likely any number of cartoon characters, inanimate objects and D-list celebrities would also easily pull into the lead), and he\u2019d have the backing of President Obama, who could unite the party with a call to action to unite behind his Vice President. <\/b><\/p>\n Ahh yes, good old Slow Joe Biden, the dumbest vice president on Earth. He might get the establishment Democrats behind him, but the Gaffe Master has a long history of stupid remarks to live down. It also doesn\u2019t help that he has been wrong on pretty much everything for his entire political career.<\/p>\n Lest we forget, he wanted to notify the Pakistanis on Osama bin Laden location and ask them to arrest the most wanted man on Earth. It never crossed his empty head that the Pakistani\u2019s knew he was there in the first place. If Obama had followed Biden\u2019s advice, we\u2019d still be looking for bin Laden. The Democrats do have a few other people they might consider.<\/p>\n Also likely contenders: Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren (both progressive candidates with a large swath of support within the Democratic party), New York governor Andrew Cuomo, Virginia\u2019s Jim Webb, even second runner up Martin O\u2019Malley.<\/b><\/p>\n I\u2019ve already explained why Sanders won\u2019t be chosen. He\u2019s left the party. Andrew Cuomo is in a race with a U.S. Attorney who\u2019s already tossed a few senior New York political types into prison, and is now eyeing Anxious Andy. Considering Cankles current legal issues, putting someone on the ticket who, unlike the Clintons, might hesitate to have people \u201cSuffer fatal accidents\u201d may not be a good idea.<\/p>\n Former Senator Jim Webb could also be selected and I would say he would probably eat into Trump’s support. He does have the issue of not being a certifiable barking moonbat. He also worked for Ronald Reagan, and for Democrats, that’s an automatic disqualifier.<\/p>\n Former Governor Martin O’Malley has a few issue. He first ran Baltimore right into the ground, and now they’re dealing with that mess, and as Governor, he thought it would be a great idea to tax rain. He should just stick to playing his guitar for spare change on Baltimore sidewalks.<\/p>\n Elizabeth \u201cSitting Bullshit\u201d Warren would cost the Democrats all that nice Wall Street money they\u2019ve clamped onto like leeches. They have flat out said that if Warren is on any ticket, they will run from the Democrats so fast they will break the speed of light. There is also the problems with her lying and what a total hypocrite she is.<\/p>\n So, who does that leave? It would give the Clintons one more shot at looting the treasury. Here\u2019s how Heatstreet explains it.<\/p>\n There\u2019s a longtstanding tradition in American politics of spouses stepping in after an unexpected death. Take Missouri\u2019s Jean Carnahan, for instance, who stood in for her husband Mel after he died in a plane crash three weeks before the Missouri Senate election. After Mel won posthumously, she served in the Senate for two years. Future Senator Olympia Snowe first entered politics after the death of her husband, a Maine state representative, in a car wreck. Likewise, Mary Bono\u2019s long political career began when her husband Sonny died in a skiing incident. <\/b><\/p>\n But, what about Bill? Well, there is one issue with him jumping into the ring again.<\/p>\n Bill Clinton is prohibited by the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution from running.<\/b><\/p>\n Not to mention that he looks like a walking AIDS patient these days.<\/p>\n If a Clinton were to step in for Hillary, it would likely be Chelsea, who at 36 is just old enough, in terms of the Constitution, to be president. <\/b><\/p>\n Yes, technically she would be old enough, but if people were talking about Trump not having government experience, what will they say about Web Hubble\u2019s<\/a> daughter, Chelsea? She has literally no experience at anything other than giving birth. (At least there, she\u2019s more experienced than her mother) Chelsea has literally had everything handed to her. While this might be a fantasy of certain people, (I really would like to know what the author of the Heatstreet piece has been smoking), there is no way Chelsea would realistically be considered.<\/p>\n No, the Democrats really are up the creek. I suspect they know that Hillary Clinton is to sick to hold office, and their plan is to prop her up until she\u2019s sworn in. Then she will either resign due to ill health, or she will fall down the stairs…several times, just to make sure.
