For those of you who don\u2019t remember, Jonathan Gruber is the MIT professor who created this monstrosity. He has also crowed about lying to pretty much everyone about the effects of Obamacare. Remember those little gems from Obama? \u201cIf you like your plan, you can keep your plan.\u201d Or, \u201cIf you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. And then the ever popular, \u201cThe Affordable Care Act will decrease people\u2019s health insurances costs by $2500 a year.\u201d Yeah, a lot of that came from Gruber.<\/p>\n
As we have seen the last couple of weeks, costs for people are now skyrocketing, in some cases by over 115 percent. Even the Obama regime is admitting that premiums are going up an average of 25 percent. Couple that with deductibles on the \u201ccheap\u201d plans approaching or surpassing $10,000 before insurance pays anything and you can see why people refuse to buy this crap.<\/p>\n Because of the way this \u201claw\u201d was written, it\u2019s cheaper for people to not buy the mandatory insurance and instead pay the fine. Also, the fine, irregardless of what that slimy weasel Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, John Roberts says, can only be taken from a person\u2019s tax refund.<\/p>\n Since healthy people weren\u2019t buying into Obamacare and only those who were really sick were, not to mention people working their taxes so that they either had very small refunds coming or actually owed a few dollars, well, the massive stream of revenue the insurance companies expected to pour in never happened. Since the Insurance companies aren\u2019t charities, and could see impending doom coming, they\u2019ve been pulling out of Obamacare.<\/p>\n Faced with collapse of his \u201cbaby\u201d Gruber showed up and started making the rounds defending his epic failure. Instead of admitting this mess has failed, this arrogant toad announced that the way to fix the problems was to increase the fines on people who refused to sign up. According to The Hill<\/a>:<\/p>\n A key adviser who helped design President Obama\u2019s signature healthcare law is calling for stricter penalties for people who choose not to pay for health insurance. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cI think probably the most important thing experts would agree is we need a larger mandate penalty,\u201d Jonathan Gruber said in an interview with CNN on Wednesday. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s something I think, ideally, we would fix,\u201d he added. <\/b><\/p>\n When asked later about the one adjustment he would have made to the law before it was passed, he said, “I wish the mandate penalty was stronger.” <\/b><\/p>\n Gruber is a complete and total ass of course. I\u2019ve written about him before<\/a>, many times in fact. He is a classic out of touch member of the Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrat Elite. He is a proven liar, a fraud and in the Hillary Clinton mold of looking out for himself and the Hell with everyone else. Now about that penalty?<\/p>\n For 2016, the penalty for being uninsured is 2.5 percent of taxable income or $695, whichever is greater. The MIT economist is giving voice to a growing number of ObamaCare observers who say a more onerous penalty would help alleviate some of the law\u2019s struggles with attracting enough enrollees. <\/b><\/p>\n Right now, people are having to choose between paying for the failed Obamacare plans, or eating and maintaining a roof over their heads. While I don\u2019t use Obamacare, my personal insurance went up 65 percent this year and is easily \u00be of my mortgage payment. As I\u2019ve reported before, I am part of the involuntarily long term unemployed. If nothing opens up for me in the next few months, I will have to give up my insurance and I can tell you, I will NOT pay that fine. I\u2019m not alone in this and that is something Gruber and the others in the PLFD refuse to see.<\/p>\n ObamaCare created both a \u201ccarrot and stick\u201d approach to sign-ups: People receive subsidies to sign up, and if they don’t, they have to pay more in taxes. <\/b><\/p>\n And they still have to sign up, or else. Speaking of Felonia von Pantsuit, her idea is throw more money at the problem…as long as it isn\u2018t hers of course.<\/p>\n On the campaign trail, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton<\/a> has talked only about a bigger carrot. She has called for larger tax credits to help people pay their premiums as well as a new program to cover more out-of-pocket costs.<\/b><\/p>\n But Gruber, as well as other Democratic health policy experts, say the penalty would also need to rise. The amount is now capped at the yearly cost that someone would pay for ObamaCare\u2019s bronze plan, the minimum coverage under the law.<\/b><\/p>\n That Bronze plan is utterly worthless. People buy it because it\u2019s all they can afford. Then they find out that they can\u2019t find a doctor, and even if they did, the \u201cinsurance\u201d won\u2019t pay for anything until you fork over anything up to $12,000 as the deductible. However, Gruber and the other totalitarians think that holding a gun to your head as they steal what little money you have left is a terrific idea.<\/p>\n Gruber said stricter penalties would prevent what he described as \u201cindividuals who are essentially free-riding on the system\u201d \u2013 echoing concerns that are frequently raised by insurance companies.<\/b><\/p>\n Still, Gruber voiced doubt that lawmakers in Congress would agree to change the penalties or any other parts of the law, even if the next president wanted to. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s hard to know what dramatic fix we could do without Congress participating in the process,\u201d Gruber said. \u201cI think nothing much is going to happen, to be honest.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n You got that right smeghead. Even if Felonia von Pantsuit wins, and the senate goes Democrat, the house is probable staying Republican. Since not one single Republican voted for Obamacare in the first place, and the only way it was passed was through lies, cheating, trickery and a corrupted Supreme Court Chief Justice, there is no way you and your power mad totalitarians will see increased fines.<\/p>\n The ObamaCare architect also delivered a robust defense of ObamaCare marketplaces in general following the negative headlines this week after the White House announced that premiums would rise on average 25 percent next year. <\/b><\/p>\n Gruber stressed that the increase applied only to the \u201cvery small fraction of people\u201d who buy coverage through ObamaCare. He said 85 percent of those people are getting help from the federal government to cover their costs. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cNow, for those remaining people, that is a problem, and that\u2019s something that we need to address, but it\u2019s not a crisis. It doesn\u2019t mean the system\u2019s collapsing,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n Jonathan Gruber was paid millions to develop this trillion dollar disaster. When it goes under, not if, he will be seen as a complete and utter incompetent. As I mentioned before I don\u2019t know if Gruber is tenured with MIT or not, however, considering the controversies around his actions with Obamacare and the earlier Romneycare, he must be. It\u2019s the only explanation I can come up with for him still spewing his propaganda.<\/p>\n Another thing about Gruber\u2019s idea to really sock it to the American People for refusing to kowtow to his beloved Obamacare. He doesn\u2019t understand that the American people are slow to anger, but when they reach a certain point, BOOM!
