The gnashing of teeth in Washington\u2019s bureaucracies continues. They still can\u2019t come to grips that there is a new President coming to town and his plans don\u2019t include them. One such agency is the Environmental Protection Agency. The current leadership is still deep in denial. (And not just the river)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/EPA-River.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-18837\" src=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/EPA-River-300x143.jpg\" alt=\"EPA-River\" width=\"300\" height=\"143\" srcset=\"https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/EPA-River-300x143.jpg 300w, https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/EPA-River-500x238.jpg 500w, https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/EPA-River.jpg 1014w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The current administrator of the EPA, Gina McCarthy, made the statement that there was nothing President-Elect Trump can do to revitalize the fossil fuels industries. Considering the devastation wroght by the EPA under the guidance of McCarthy, I can see why she might think this. Here are the details of her delusions from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2016\/nov\/21\/epa-chief-trump-cant-revive-fossil-fuel-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Washington Times<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy on Monday said President-elect Donald Trump will fail in his efforts to revitalize America\u2019s sagging coal industry and put fossil fuels back at the center of the nation\u2019s energy portfolio, taunting an incoming administration that is primed to roll back some of her agency\u2019s initiatives. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/stupid_meter.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11573\" src=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/stupid_meter.gif\" alt=\"stupid_meter\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>During a speech in Washington, Ms. McCarthy \u2014 who presided over President Obama\u2019s ambitious plan to phase out fossil fuels and rein in greenhouse gas emissions \u2014 said the \u201ctrain has left the station\u201d with regard to America\u2019s move toward clean energy. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/train-wreck.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-20143\" src=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/train-wreck-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"train wreck!\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/train-wreck-250x300.jpg 250w, https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/train-wreck-768x922.jpg 768w, https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/train-wreck-500x600.jpg 500w, https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/train-wreck.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>She said she is confident that much of the Environmental Protection Agency\u2019s work over the past eight years will stand the test of time and suggested that Mr. Trump will struggle to roll back initiatives such as the Clean Power Plan, which limits emissions from coal-fired power plants. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Do you know what that sounds like to me? That McCarthy has arranged to leave behind a number of her acolytes who\u2019s sole job will be to obstruct President Trump\u2019s plans. Apparently McCarthy failed to notice that Trump will have the support of both houses of Congress, and anyone she thinks will be able to \u201cStop Trump!\u201d will find themselves on the unemployment line in very short order.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>But even if Mr. Trump does use executive power to nullify the Clean Power Plan or other EPA initiatives put into place under the Obama administration, she said broader market trends will make it impossible for the billionaire to fulfill his campaign promises. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201c<b>Folks, clearly there is more going on in our world and our energy sector than the Clean Power Plan can account for. \u2026 This is all about the energy transition that\u2019s already happening,\u201d she told an audience in Washington. \u201cThe clean energy economy, folks, that train has left the station.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-18582\" src=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll-292x300.jpg\" alt=\"eye roll\" width=\"292\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll-292x300.jpg 292w, https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 292px) 100vw, 292px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Allow me to dismantle McCarthy\u2019s statements. Her so called \u201cClean Power\u201d doesn\u2019t work and never has. It relies on massive taxpayer subsidies, which will go away. All those wind farms, solar panels and unicorn fart powered engines will quickly shut down once their pipeline into the treasury is turned off.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The Clean Power Plan remains caught up in the judicial system after a Supreme Court decision this year, though many states already are taking steps to meet the rule\u2019s strict limits on carbon emissions. The regulations set emissions thresholds and require states to develop plans to meet them. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>That is due only to the federal gun pointed at their heads. Once that is gone, all those expensive regulations they\u2019re working on will be tossed into a nice carbon producing bonfire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The standards would make it virtually impossible to build any new coal-fired power plants.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Which was the whole point of the regulations. They were designed to destroy an entire industry at the expense of the economy, all so the Greenies running the EPA could have some good \u201cFeelz\u201d. The only thing that will slow down their repeal will be simple logistics. The Trump Administration will have to clean up eight years of destruction wrought by the Obama Regime.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Throughout his campaign, Mr. Trump said he would put the nation\u2019s coal miners back to work and would make it easier for the nation to tap into its fossil fuel reserves. More broadly, the president-elect intends to withdraw the U.S. from a global climate change deal requiring a 26 percent cut in emissions by 2030. The Clean Power Plan and other EPA regulations are key to meeting those targets. Mr. Trump has said he would pull the U.S. out of that global climate deal. Although he hasn\u2019t given many specifics on broader energy policy, he has suggested that proposals like the Clean Power Plan will be eliminated. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Has anyone informed Gina McCarthy about this? Or has she fallen into the trap that most of the Moonbats did, thinking that Executive Orders and unratified treaties are actually the Law of the Land? I suspect these idiots actually believe that Obama\u2019s unconstitutional actions will remain. The share of the nation\u2019s energy produced by fossil fuels has been falling throughout Mr. Obama\u2019s presidency as a result of cheaper renewable fuels and federal regulations. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Again, this was the Obama Regime picking winners and loser, then subsidizing those they wanted to win. End the subsidies and over-regulation on the fossil fuels sector and just watch them take off.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Renewables accounted for just 7 percent of electricity generation last year, though that number has been climbing during Mr. Obama\u2019s time in office. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>And this is, as I\u2019ve repeatedly written, only due to massive taxpayer subsidies and regulations designed to kill the fossil fuels industries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Republicans are eager to repeal pieces of Mr. Obama\u2019s climate agenda. While market forces undoubtedly have made renewable energy more competitive, Republican lawmakers argue that EPA regulations have smothered the fossil fuels sector and put coal, natural gas and oil at a clear disadvantage. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201c<b>Early in his tenure, President Obama pledged to pursue an \u2018all-the-above\u2019 energy strategy. He then dedicated his administration to a smothering regulatory attack on the absolute majority of energy resources that Americans use in their daily lives,\u201d House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Rob Bishop, Utah Republican, wrote in an op-ed for The Hill on Monday. \u201cHe tasked federal agencies to specifically target responsible oil and gas development. He forced unilateral rules and moratoriums, canceled lease sales, ordered the destruction of hydroelectric dams and directed an end to domestic coal. \u2026 This oppressive agenda, and the audacity with which it was executed, was on the minds of voters and apparently rejected on Nov. 8.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/useagle3.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12315\" src=\"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/useagle3.gif\" alt=\"useagle3\" width=\"150\" height=\"161\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Pressed on whether she was concerned that the Trump administration would reverse her years of work, Ms. McCarthy largely ducked the question. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201c<b>We\u2019re going to have to wait and see,\u201d she said. \u201cMy job right now is to do a smooth transition.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Ms. McCarthy said the EPA has not had any contact with the Trump transition team. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Gee, I wonder why they aren\u2019t talking to you? Could it be that the Trump Administration\u2019s plans for the EPA could include the eventual shut down of the agency? Considering the activities of the last eight years of this out of control bureaucracy, the new head of the EPA is going to need to take a chainsaw to it.
