It looks like President-Elect Trump has already hit the ground running in regards to bringing jobs back to America. He also said that company\u2019s could ship their plants overseas, but they would pay a tariff that would make it to expensive to import their products back into the United States. Now, with the election of Donald Trump, and the probability that he will put in place tariffs to punish countries that abuse the free trade deals previous administrations made, Corporations are rethinking their outsourcing plans. Carrier is the first to change their minds. Here are some of the details from <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220516041340\/https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/11\/29\/business\/trump-to-announce-carrier-plant-will-keep-jobs-in-us.html?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the New York Times<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>From the earliest days of his campaign, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/topic\/person\/donald-trump?inline=nyt-per\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald J. Trump<\/a> made keeping manufacturing jobs in the United States his signature economic issue, and the decision by Carrier, the big air-conditioner company, to move over 2,000 of them from Indiana to Mexico was a tailor-made talking point for him on the stump. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>On Thursday, Mr. Trump and Mike Pence, Indiana\u2019s governor and the vice president-elect, plan to appear at Carrier\u2019s Indianapolis factory to announce a deal with the company to keep roughly 1,000 jobs in the state, according to officials with the transition team as well as Carrier. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a good start of course. We also have Ford Motor company canceling plans to move one of their plant to Mexico as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Reagan_toasting.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-16344\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Reagan_toasting-199x300.jpg?resize=199%2C300\" alt=\"Reagan_toasting\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Reagan_toasting.jpg?resize=199%2C300&amp;ssl=1 199w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Reagan_toasting.jpg?resize=500%2C753&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Reagan_toasting.jpg?w=597&amp;ssl=1 597w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 199px) 100vw, 199px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Mr. Trump will be hard-pressed to alter the economic forces that have hammered the Rust Belt for decades, but forcing Carrier and its parent company, United Technologies, to reverse course is a powerful tactical strike that will hearten his followers even before he takes office. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Actually, it will be rather easy. No President, Trump included, can create good private sector jobs. What a president, along with Congress, can do is make it far easier for companies to open plants in the United States. It isn\u2019t just lowering taxes for corporations, although that plays a part, it\u2019s making it less expensive to keep or open plants in the United States in the first place. If Barack Obama had tried the same maneuver, he\u2019d probably have drawn criticism for intervening in the free market. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>This is because Obama and Sanders are Marxists and have never done an honest days work in their lives, let alone run a business. Besides, Trump isn\u2019t using the government to force the companies to stay here, he\u2019s going to use it to make it profitable to stay in America. Obama didn\u2019t care and Sanders would have preferred to nationalize everything.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>In exchange for keeping the factory running in Indianapolis, Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence are expected to reiterate their campaign pledges to be friendlier to businesses by easing regulations and overhauling the corporate tax code, according to a spokeswoman for Mr. Trump. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>And there is the knife to the guts of the Chamber of Commerce types.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The message from Mr. Trump that captivated the Carrier workers \u2014 keeping manufacturing jobs in the United States after decades of losses to overseas factories and automation \u2014 resonated throughout the Rust Belt. That promise, plus his opposition to pacts like the North American Free Trade Agreement, were key reasons he was able to edge out Hillary Clinton in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As I mentioned before, the primary reason for companies to move out of the United States is costs. It isn\u2019t the cost of hiring people directly. It isn\u2019t even the costs of having a unionized work force. It\u2019s all the regulations, mandates and taxes piled on to corporations that force them to look at moving out of America. Once Trump is sworn in along with the new Congress, Look for virtual nuclear strikes to commence on all the federal agencies that have badly harmed the economy. Of course, the New York Times had to take a poke at this good news.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/MSM2.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-16464\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/MSM2-215x300.jpg?resize=215%2C300\" alt=\"MSM2\" width=\"215\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/MSM2.jpg?resize=215%2C300&amp;ssl=1 215w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/MSM2.jpg?w=489&amp;ssl=1 489w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 215px) 100vw, 215px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Political symbolism aside, saving 1,000 Carrier jobs doesn\u2019t loom so large in an economy that\u2019s created an average of 181,000 jobs a month this year, noted Jared Bernstein, a liberal economist who served as adviser in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2011. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Still, he confessed a grudging admiration for Mr. Trump\u2019s political jujitsu. \u201cIf I weren\u2019t so scared of the damage a Trump administration might do, I\u2019d find it refreshing to see an administration fighting for factory jobs like this,\u201d he said. \u201cThat said, no one should confuse what Trump is doing here with sustainable economic policy.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-18582\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll-292x300.jpg?resize=292%2C300\" alt=\"eye roll\" width=\"292\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll.jpg?resize=292%2C300&amp;ssl=1 292w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll.jpg?w=300&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 292px) 100vw, 292px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stupid moonbat. You mean all the wonderful economic plans you and your ilk been pushing for decades? And that 181K new jobs? That\u2019s just barely breaking even. I\u2019m sure you\u2019ve also said in other places that the unemployment rate is under 5 percent. The U2 numbers only count people collecting unemployment. Once that has been exhausted, the government no longer counts you. You have ceased to exist as far as the statisticians maintaining the U2 database are concerned. The U6 numbers count people who are not working or only working at crappy part time jobs. That rate is somewhere north of 10 percent, and probably closer to 15 percent. He has totally missed the point of what Trump wants to do. Reduce the costs of employing people and running a business in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>People such as Robert Reich, the Chamber of Commerce, the GOP(e) and the Democrats, have for decades negotiated, and I use that word very loosely, trade deals that have freely shipped American jobs out of this country. All they have done is benefited the Wall Street types and the \u201cOne percent\u201d, (And I hate using that phrase), types at the expense of the average American.
