She has been on trial in France for misusing public funds. Just prior to her conviction. Ms. Lagarde took off. Here are the details <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-france-lagarde-lawyer-idUSKBN1481EY?il=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">from Reuters<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde has left France for Washington and will not be present for the verdict in her negligence trial, her lawyer told Reuters.<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The verdict was due later on Monday.<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The trial relates to a case in which Lagarde, as French finance minister, approved a 400 million euro ($417 million) state payout to a business tycoon in 2008. She denies the negligence charges.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Now, unless I\u2019m mistaken, anyone else on trial for something like this would have been forced to hand over her passport and not allowed to leave France. Generally, prosecutors in the United States don\u2019t bring cases they aren\u2019t sure they can win, even though you could indict a baloney sandwich. When they do win, they generally like to throw the convicted into prison. I guess things are different in Europe. When someone is convicted of blowing $450 million Euros, you usually expect them to be looking at spending some time in the House with many Doors. (That would be prison)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>It is a theme prosecutors have previously repeated, notably in calling in September 2015 for the case against Ms. Lagarde to be halted. But a special court, set up in 1993 to hear cases against France\u2019s politicians, overrode that recommendation. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Hmm, so the French were concerned that their prosecutors would try and broom the case? I wonder who they thought they were? James Comey? So what\u2019s next for the convicted criminal?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Ms. Lagarde\u2019s lawyers can appeal the verdict before France\u2019s highest court, the Cour de Cassation, on procedural grounds, but Mr. Maisonneuve suggested they might not, because she had not received any sentence. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/totally-shocked.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-22809\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/totally-shocked-300x200.jpg?resize=300%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/totally-shocked.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/totally-shocked.jpg?w=400&amp;ssl=1 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I wouldn\u2019t bother either, unless this conviction actually had some ramifications, like being fired from my job as head of the IMF.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210413070307\/https:\/\/www.imf.org\/en\/News\/Articles\/2016\/12\/19\/PR16567b-Statement-on-Legal-Proceedings-in-France-Relating-to-the-Managing-Director\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">brief statement<\/a>, Gerry Rice, a spokesman for the Washington-based I.M.F., said the fund\u2019s executive board \u201chas met on previous occasions to consider developments related to the legal proceedings in France. It is expected that the board will meet again shortly to consider the most recent developments.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In other words, \u201cOh Hell! First it was that pervert <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_York_v._Strauss-Kahn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dominique Strauss-Kahn<\/a> and now we have to deal with this! And next month we will have Trump as president and he and his people won\u2019t be as \u201camenable\u201d to things like this as Felonia von Pantsuit would have been.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Times story has all the details of the case, and it sounds like your typical Eurotrash Elitist way of doing business. However, there are several major sized flies in the Globalist ointment these days. First was Brexit and now we have Donald Trump. People have had enough of these crooked globalists, and I would not be at all surprised if the Trump administration denies the Convict the privilege of entering the United States.
