Yes, it seems that the CDC had started planning a conference geared to looking into ways to regulate humanity out existence or something. The planning for this summit began before the election, and it\u2019s fairly obvious who they expected to win. Unfortunately for the CDC, Felonia von Pantsuit lost and the Trump Administration is putting an end to government sponsorship of the Church of Global Warming. Here are the details on this disappointing news from The Washington (Com)Post<\/a>:<\/p>\n With little warning or explanation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently canceled a major climate change conference that had been scheduled for next month in Atlanta. <\/b><\/p>\n The Climate and Health Summit, which had been in the works for months, was intended as a chance for public health officials around the country to learn more about the mounting evidence of the risks to human health posed by the changing climate. But CDC officials abruptly canceled the conference before President Trump\u2019s inauguration, sending a terse email on Jan. 9 to those who had been scheduled to speak at the event. The message did not explain the reason behind the decision. <\/b><\/p>\n Oh, I think we can guess.<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately, we are unable to hold the Summit in February 2017,\u201d CDC officials wrote, adding that the agency is \u201ccurrently exploring\u201d whether it could reschedule the event later in the year. <\/b><\/p>\n And I think the answer to that is, \u201cThe event will not be rescheduled.\u201d<\/p>\n APHA\u2019s executive director, Georges Benjamin \u2014 who was scheduled to be a keynote speaker at the CDC summit next month \u2014 said agency officials decided to preemptively call off the event, rather than risk running afoul of an incoming president who has repeatedly called climate change a \u201choax\u201d and has nominated climate change skeptics to his Cabinet. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cThey ran it up the flagpole and realized that it was so close to the inauguration, the chances of it being canceled were pretty real with the administration that was coming in,\u201d said Benjamin, whose organization was one of the summit\u2019s promoters. \u201cSome might argue they should have said, \u2018We\u2019re going to do this and make them tell us no.\u2019 But that was the decision they made. We should think of this as a strategic retreat.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Oh the arrogance of the promoters. Did they really think that going ahead with it and forcing the Trump Administration to shut them down was actually a good idea? Did they think they could \u201cShame\u201d him into letting them proceed with this complete waste of time and money? Sadly, yes, they no doubt did. The Trump administration wouldn\u2019t have hesitated for one minute to kill this summit meeting, and I suspect a few of the organizers and promoters would be invited to seek other opportunities in the Dreaded Private Sector.<\/p>\n Another scheduled speaker, Edward Maibach, director of the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University, argued that the summit should have gone forward, no matter who had just been sworn in as the next president. He said he fears the move will set a precedent of government officials self-silencing, in part over fears of reprisal or loss of funding, rather than standing behind the established science around climate change. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know why they canceled the meeting, but I do know the meeting was important and should have been held. Politics is politics, but protecting the health of our citizens is one of our government\u2019s most important obligations to us,\u201d Maibach said in an email. \u201cClimate change is bad for America, and bad for the world, in so many ways. One of these ways is that it is harming our health, already, and is likely to get much worse over the next few decades unless we take action. As the nation\u2019s public health agency, we need CDC to be fully engaged in protecting our health from climate change.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Maibach doesn\u2019t work for the government thankfully. However, he\u2019s a classic moonbat who has no use for \u201cThe dirty little ignorant people in flyover country.\u201d For him, like many moonbats, Climate Change and Global Warming are a religion for them. Generally a very profitable one. I wonder, does Mason University receive taxpayer funds for Maibach\u2019s department? I think we might see a target for a nice budget cut. As for what they think is going to happen?<\/p>\n Among the threats: Millions more deaths caused by extreme heat.<\/b><\/p>\n Do you know how to solve that one? Stay out of the sun and drink plenty of water. Oh wait, they think the temperatures will be the same as on the planet Venus.<\/p>\n More frequent outbreaks of diseases transmitted by ticks and mosquitoes.<\/b><\/p>\n Start spraying DDT again. It worked great the last time until the Moonbats got it banned. Yes there were problems, but, as I recall, it was due to the misuse of the insecticide.<\/p>\n Longer allergy seasons. <\/b><\/p>\n Which also means longer growing seasons, which means more food.<\/p>\n Worsening air quality that could result in thousands more premature deaths each year from respiratory problems. <\/b><\/p>\n Don\u2019t go to Beijing then. We\u2019ve come a long way in the technology to clean up smog problems, and once we get the EPA out of the way, we can do even more. (EPA likes to force power stations that want to upgrade their systems to do it all at once or not at all, and hang the expense. The upshot? Nothing gets done)<\/p>\n For the last 30 years, the Environmental whackos have pretty much had it their way. For the last 8 years, they have been totally out of control and have done trillions in damage to the United States. Now we have people coming into these agencies who, if they can\u2019t reform them, are just as happy to burn them to the ground.
