Growing in office is the term used, primarily by Progressives and spineless RINO\u2019s when a new Republican president, once he takes office, ignores all the promises he made to win the election. President Trump, instead of ignoring his promises, is actually moving full steam ahead in implementing them. This has caught the attention of a pair of writers who put together a column for The Hill. Here is what they have to say<\/a>:<\/p>\n In his first frantic week at the White House, Donald Trump<\/a> is doing almost exactly what he promised to do during his campaign, stunning those who thought he’d adapt his style as president.<\/b><\/p>\n Trump has signed an executive order to begin building a wall on the Mexican border and doubled down on his promises to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement and repeal ObamaCare. Actions to temporarily suspend visas for people coming to the United States from a number of Muslim nations are expected to come soon. <\/b><\/p>\n During the campaign, Trump\u2019s critics dismissed his ambitious agenda as rhetoric that he\u2019d back away from once in office. If candidate Trump beat the odds and made it to the White House, they said, the Trump Show will surely grind to a halt once he\u2019s confronted with the realities of governing.<\/b><\/p>\n It hasn’t turned out like that at all. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cEnough all talk, no action. We have to deliver,\u201d Trump told Republican lawmakers Thursday. \u201cThis is our chance to achieve great and lasting change for our beloved nation.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n The article continues with a list of things President Trump has done to begin the process of \u201cMaking America Great Again!\u201d To date, it\u2019s one heck of a list.<\/p>\n Veteran GOP operative Charlie Black said that Trump\u2019s aggressive early posture shouldn\u2019t come as a surprise. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cDemocrats should\u2019ve been sweating this on Nov. 9,\u201d Black said. \u201cThey should\u2019ve known he\u2019d follow through on the things he said. Some things will require congressional action or need to go through the regulatory process for what he can\u2019t do on his own. But if he can do it on his own, you can bet he\u2019ll do it.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.), a key Trump ally, summarized Trump’s action-filled first week with one word: \u201cFirehose.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n “It’s refreshing and it’s energizing,” Reed told The Hill right after Trump spoke at the joint congressional GOP retreat. “I think it’s not only the nature of the president and his new town, and his bringing to the office a private sector-based mentality. It’s also unleashing the power of the American people. <\/b><\/p>\n “For so many years, it’s been a hamstrung by the bureaucracy of Washington and we’re cutting that red tape to empower the American people again.”<\/b><\/p>\n And not a moment to soon. President Trump literally hit the ground running after taking the Oath of Office and he hasn\u2019t stopped yet. The last time we had a president who did this, from either party, it was Ronald Reagan. When he first took office, Reagan was also attacked by the Beltway Bandits for his plans to repair the damages done by Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon and Lyndon Johnson.<\/p>\n He was hamstrung by the Democrats, led by Tip O\u2019Neill, but was still able to rebuild the military, repair the economy and crush the Soviet Union with the help of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Lech Walesa and Pope John Paul II.<\/p>\n There is no Soviet Union now, the Republicans are in the strongest position to make significant changes in a century and we have a president who has a plan and is following it. Now the Beltway Uniparty is quaking in their boots.
