Good day all. This is a developing story. It seems that a circuit court judge in Oregon may have aided an illegal alien to get out of her court house and avoid arrest by ICE.<\/p>\n

Multnomah County Judge Monica Herranz is under investigation for allegedly aiding leave the courthouse via a private entrance. Here are what details we have from Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

An Oregon judge is being investigated after she allegedly helped an illegal immigrant elude ICE agents in January by guiding the man through a private entrance at the courthouse. <\/b><\/p>\n

Multnomah County Judge Monica Herranz was notified by court staff that ICE agents werer waiting outside her courtroom to possibly apprehend Diddier Pacheco Salazar, a 22-year-old Mexican national attending a DUI hearing, U.S. Attorney Billy Willaims said.<\/b><\/p>\n

As I mentioned, this is still a developing story and there\u2019s a lot we don\u2019t know. One of the questions was how Salazar was able to avoid using the main entrance where ICE was waiting to haul him away.<\/p>\n

“I prepped my client. I said, ‘I don’t know if they’re going to pick you up outside or what, but here’s how to prepare,'” John Schlosser, Salazar’s court appointed lawyer, told a local paper<\/a>. “After the court appearance, I went out in the hallway and sat. My client never came out. I can’t say that I’m surprised he didn’t come out, but I gave him his options, and assume he had to have been escorted out some other way.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Salazar didn\u2019t get to far fortunately<\/p>\n

Salazar was arrested two weeks after the incident.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The question now, is how did he get away? His lawyer was not with him, and wouldn\u2019t assist him in escaping the long arm of the law, not if he wanted to keep his license and stay out of jail. Apparently, ICE wasn\u2019t to interested in looking into this either.<\/p>\n

ICE agents decided not to investigate Herranz, who is also on the board of directors of the Oregon Hispanic Bar Association, but Chief Judge Nan Waller is conducting an internal investigation. <\/b>Waller told Fox 12 Oregon<\/a> she wants to figure out what happened before discussing the situation. <\/b><\/p>\n

Williams calls Herranz\u2019s alleged actions troubling. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you\u2019re talking about the judicial system \u2013 whether it\u2019s federal or by state \u2013 you have an expectation that people are going to abide by the law and not take steps based on their own motivations, their own politics \u2013 whatever the motivation was.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gee, ya think? I\u2019ve been trying to find out some information on Herranz, but there isn\u2019t much. That alone sends up a few flares for me. I followed a link when I did a search to LinkedIn, but found the profile was missing. I can\u2019t say if that was the one for the judge, but if it was, then she is scrubbing her online footprints. (Of course, it could be another Monica Herranz too)<\/p>\n

If it is shown that this judge did, in fact, aid and abet the escape of a wanted Federal fugitive, after being informed that Federal Agents were waiting outside her court room to take custody of said fugitive, then at best, she needs to be removed from the bench and stripped of her law license. At worst, she should be put on trial and if convicted, locked up.<\/p>\n
