Good day all. President Trump has been working to drain the swamp that is Washington D.C. However, he has missed a few pieces of low hanging fruit. For instance, why is John Koskinen<\/a> still the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service?<\/p>\n

For those of you who may not recall, Koskinen was appointed by Obama. He was instrumental in covering up the actions of Lois Lerner, stonewalling and probably lying to congress. Now Republicans in congress are asking why he hasn\u2019t been shown the door yet. Here are the details from Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Nearly two months into the Trump administration, the IRS commissioner House Republicans once threatened with impeachment remains on the job. <\/b><\/p>\n

John Koskinen’s continued tenure may be surprising, considering how aggressively Republicans went after him under the Obama administration. But despite a sustained push by congressional Republicans to oust the IRS chief before his five-year term expires this November, President Trump so far has made no move to do so. <\/b><\/p>\n

This is rather surprising. Koskinen is everything wrong with the previous administration, and he should have been terminated within days of President Trumps swearing in.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Trump should fire Commissioner Koskinen and replace him with someone that will bring integrity and competence to the IRS,\u201d House Judiciary Committee Chariman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., told Fox News on Tuesday.<\/b><\/p>\n

Personally, I think Koskinen should be hauled up in front of a Federal Grand Jury, and prosecuted for his actions, but then I\u2019m not the forgiving type.<\/p>\n

Just days after Trump took office, Republican Study Committee Chairman Mark Walker, R- N.C., along with 53 other House Republicans, also wrote a letter asking the new president to remove Koskinen.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThe consideration of the impeachment of IRS Commissioner John Koskinen in the House in late 2016 was a clear indication that Congress and the American people have no confidence in Commissioner Koskinen or his ability to discharge his duties,\u201d Walker wrote, nudging the president by citing statutory language giving him authority to strip Koskinen of his title. Doing so, he claimed, would \u201crestore the credibility\u201d of the federal tax authority.<\/b><\/p>\n

It is possible that Koskinen has slipped through the cracks. President Trump is dealing with a huge mess left behind by the Obama regime, and also is dealing with Obama moles that have burrowed into the bureaucracy with the intention of subverting the Trump Administration.<\/p>\n

Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., issued a statement to Fox News saying: \u201cThe IRS will not be reformed under Koskinen\u2019s leadership and I urge [Treasury] Secretary Mnuchin and President Trump to take action to replace Koskinen with someone willing to reform this troubled agency.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

The new Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin<\/a>, has literally just assumed his post, and may not have had time to call Koskinen in and ask for his resignation. It\u2019s also possible, and I hope probable, that Secretary Mnuchin is looking for a replacement for Koskinen and his underlings prior to terminating them. Ditching Koskinen and letting one of his people assume control won\u2019t help things. Still, pressure must be maintained to have this weasel removed from his position as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
