Good day all. Are you aware that a number of Yale students are on a hunger strike? No? Neither was I. Apparently they are and are protesting for better union benefits.<\/p>\n

Being the concerned social justice member of society that I am, (Basically not at all), my first thought was \u201cGreat! They starve to death and we decrease the moonbat population!\u201d There is just one small problem. When these hunger strikers get hungry, they go off and eat something. Here are the details from The Washington Free Beacon<\/a>:<\/p>\n

A group of Yale University graduate students announced Tuesday evening that they would be undertaking a hunger strike to pressure the administration into granting them better union benefits. The strike is taking place in front of University President Peter Salovey\u2019s home. <\/b><\/p>\n

“Yale wants to make us wait and wait and wait \u2026 until we give up and go away,” the eight members of the graduate student union Local 33 announced<\/a>. “We have committed ourselves to waiting without eating.” <\/b><\/p>\n

If Salovey is typical of the current crop of university presidents, he should be folding like a cheap suit about 30 seconds after the protesters begin banging their bongo drums. Still, there is a slight chance that he actually has a spine and will hold out until the first protester starves to death.<\/p>\n

Yale doctoral students currently earn a stipend $30,000 a year, receive free health care, and have their $40,000 tuition paid in full, according<\/a> to Yale News. The university administration said in a statement that they understood the students concerns, but “strongly [urge] that students not put their health at risk or encourage others to do so.” <\/b><\/p>\n

On the other hand, I too understand their concerns and fully encourage them to do as much damage to themselves as they possible can. However, it turns out that the \u201cHunger Strikers\u201d haven\u2019t fully grasped the concept of a hunger strike. It involves not eating and starving, potentially, (And hopefully), to death.<\/p>\n

As it turns out, the hunger strike might not put anyone’s health in peril. According to a pamphlet posted on Twitter by a former Yale student, the hunger strike is “symbolic” and protesters can leave and get food when they can no longer go on.<\/b><\/p>\n

Halikias later protected his account, but by then the tweet had spread and others on social media mocked the “sacrifice” of the Yale grad students.<\/b><\/p>\n

Funny how Moonbats always forget that once something is on the Internet, it generally stays on the Internet. I think the protesters managed to fire the hockey puck into their own net.<\/p>\n
