<\/p>\nGood day all. I saw a story this morning that flat out enraged me. A bill put forth in the Maine Legislature by the Republicans, one that should have been a no brainer for both parties to support, was blocked by the Democrats. The bill? It was meant to protect little girls from genital mutilation.<\/p>\n

The practice of female circumcision, is a horrific and, in a number of cases, fatal procedure. It\u2019s generally done in places like Africa and the Middle East where women are considered as nothing more than property. With the recent \u201cRefugees\u201d brought in by the Obama regime, this practice is starting to happen here. This is why legislation is being brought forward to protect girls and women. However, in Maine, the Democrat Party decided that it would be better to block the bill and put who knows ho many girls lives at risk. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n The motto of the state of Maine is Dirigo<\/i> \u2013 Latin for \u2018I lead\u2019. Bellwether<\/i> wants to know who\u2019s leading the fight to protect little girls in Maine from genital mutilation. <\/b><\/p>\n Apparently, not the Proglodytes in Maine.<\/p>\n A Republican-sponsored bill to outlaw the barbaric procedure is being opposed by Democrats, who say they fear it will offend the cultural sensitivity of the approximately 10,000 Somalis living in the state.<\/b><\/p>\n Cultural sensitivities? Are they kidding? Who gives a rats ass about the \u201cCulture of a pack of savage barbarians who mutilate women and treat them worse then they treat livestock?<\/p>\n But there\u2019s an uglier, more malevolent reason lurking behind the scenes. <\/b><\/p>\n Female genital mutilation \u2013 in which a young girl\u2019s clitoris is cut out and her vagina stitched closed \u2013 is commonly practiced in Somalia, where it is estimated 90 percent of the female population has undergone the ritual. The intention is to ensure that girls remain chaste until they are married, and that they derive no pleasure from sexual activity. <\/b><\/p>\n With the arrival over the past several years of thousands of Somali refugees and asylum seekers in Maine, the tradition of FGM also crossed the ocean. So-called \u201ccutters\u201d, who are usually female midwives, often perform the procedure without anesthesia and with dirty razor blades. Some victims suffer from urinary tract problems as a result. <\/b><\/p>\n Well, I have a solution, at least from this point forward. Ship all these \u201cmidwives\u201d back to Somalia right now. Or just take them out and shoot them. Either works for me.<\/p>\n \u201cI had never heard of it, when someone first brought to my attention that it could be happening here,\u201d says state Rep. Heather Sirocki, a Republican. \u201cI said, \u2018You\u2019re kidding me, right?\u2019\u201d Once she was convinced it was no joke, Sirocki introduced legislation to ban genital mutilation in Maine. Such was her initial na\u00efvet\u00e9, she thought the bill would pass unanimously. <\/b><\/p>\n Yeah, but you forgot that you\u2019re dealing with Democrats, who are are an even lower form of life. When the choice is between doing the right thing and putting the party first, the party will always win.<\/p>\n Then came an avalanche of criticism from progressive groups like the American Civil Liberties Union and immigrant aid organizations, who argue that it is not the state\u2019s role to interfere with cultural traditions that run counter to American values. <\/b><\/p>\n So the ACLU supports the mutilation of girls? In other words, they are quite happy in violating the civil rights of children, who will be crippled and possibly killed by this barbaric procedure? I won\u2019t post what was going through my mind when I read that. Suffice to say, my first thoughts about what to do are utterly illegal. I will say it\u2019s long past time for the Department of Justice to start investigating the ACLU for it\u2019s violations of American\u2019s civil rights.<\/p>\n No one in the legislature is openly defending FGM \u2013 that might turn off even the most liberal Mainers.<\/b><\/p>\n So why are the Democrats blocking this bill?<\/p>\n Democrats contend that child protection laws already on the books are sufficient, and that singling out genital mutilation would be disrespectful of the Somalis\u2019 cultural inheritance. <\/b><\/p>\n Who gives a damn about their culture? They want to keep it? They can go back the 4th<\/sup> world hellhole they came from and revel in their \u201cCulture.\u201d If they are here, then they will assimilate into American culture. Anything that\u2019s actually worthwhile from their so called culture, we will take it, and make it our own, just as we have for 300 years.<\/p>\n Sirocki says she was stunned by that argument.<\/b><\/p>\n She isn\u2019t alone, however, the truth of the matter is far worse.<\/p>\n She was in for an even bigger shock when a Democrat, who supports the bill, approached her. As Sirocki tells it, \u201cShe said to me, \u2018Heather, you know how when a member of our party submits a bill, Republicans kill it simply because a Democrat submitted it? That\u2019s what\u2019s happening here.\u2019\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Then it got even worse. By Sirocki\u2019s account, Democratic Rep. Barbara Cardone of Bangor, who opposes the bill, said she would wait until next year, when Sirocki was out of office, then submit the bill in her own name, so that Democrats would get credit for protecting children. <\/b><\/p>\n When I asked Cardone about that meeting, she told me: \u201cI don\u2019t know that it will be the same bill. I will propose a criminal bill. And it\u2019s so I<\/i> can say that I\u2019m<\/i> going to address this. I\u2019m not doing it because I want a Democratic victory.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know if they\u2019re telling the truth,\u201d Sirocki said of the opposition party. \u201cThey\u2019re not known for that.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n They\u2019re Liberals, Progressives and Democrats. Of COURSE they\u2019re lying.<\/p>\n Sirocki says what she learned about FGM as she prepared the bill exposed her to things she\u2019d just as soon not know. \u201cI\u2019m trying to stay focused on the law making it illegal. When you actually think about what\u2019s happening to these girls, it\u2019s just so horrible.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Equally horrible is blocking a common-sense law when it might save young girls from lifelong disfigurement for political reasons.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Proglodytes don\u2019t give a fig about anything except political victories. If it requires the disfigurement or even death of children, well, in their view, those are acceptable losses. I don\u2019t live in Maine, but I want the word to get out about what the Democrats up there are doing. If you know someone in Maine, pass this post along, or at the very least the original Fox News story<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n If you are in Maine, contact your representatives and read them the riot act. As for the Democrats who are stopping this bill? They need to be removed from office. They should have primary, or caucus challengers, (I don\u2019t recall which process they use up there), and they should have a challenger in the general election. The theme? The current office holder will put politics ahead of protecting little girls from this barbaric procedure.
