The Washington ComPost has led the charge to \u201cGet\u201d President Trump since he won the election last year. They have been in the forefront of screaming that \u201cTrump colluded with the Russians to steal the election from the Sainted Hillary Clinton!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com\/originals\/d5\/c9\/f5\/d5c9f5a929f2b7bea86cb3b35321ffc0.jpg?resize=290%2C295&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"290\" height=\"295\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Well, yesterday the ComPost published a story that basically torpedoed the entire collusion story. The Russians did try to set up meetings with the Trump election committee, but were refused. Here are the details forcibly ripped from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/trump-campaign-emails-show-aides-repeated-efforts-to-set-up-russia-meetings\/2017\/08\/14\/54d08da6-7dc2-11e7-83c7-5bd5460f0d7e_story.html?utm_term=.d45e4e2295e3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>the Washington ComPost<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Three days after Donald Trump named his campaign foreign policy team in March 2016, the youngest of the new advisers sent an email to seven campaign officials with the subject line: \u201cMeeting with Russian Leadership &#8211; Including Putin.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The adviser, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/anyone--with-a-pulse-how-a-russia-friendly-adviser-found-his-way-into-the-trump-campaign\/2017\/05\/25\/32438f72-4014-11e7-8c25-44d09ff5a4a8_story.html?utm_term=.38648a3e1b05\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George Papadopoulos<\/a>, offered to set up \u201ca meeting between us and the Russian leadership to discuss US-Russia ties under President Trump,\u201d telling them his Russian contacts welcomed the opportunity, according to internal campaign emails read to The Washington Post. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Oh I can see it now. The ComPost morning meetings to discuss the latest in \u201cOperation Get Trump\u201d probably had towels all over the table to blot up the drool. They finally had \u201cThe smoking gun!\u201d and now they could have President Trump removed and executed. However, there was a few small problems with the story.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The proposal sent a ripple of concern through campaign headquarters in Trump Tower. Campaign co-chairman Sam Clovis wrote that he thought NATO allies should be consulted before any plans were made. Another Trump adviser, retired Navy Rear Adm. Charles Kubic, cited legal concerns, including a possible violation of U.S. sanctions against Russia and of the Logan Act, which prohibits U.S. citizens from unauthorized negotiation with foreign governments. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Wait, what? His staff didn\u2019t instantly bend over for Putin? There must be a mistake here. Everyone go back and check your notes. This must be an outlier. Everyone knows that Trump colluded with the Russians. We have been told this by many super secret anonymous sources!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>But Papadopoulos, a campaign volunteer with scant foreign policy experience, persisted. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Good for him! He must have secretly been working for the Hillary campaign.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/evil-hillary2.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-18838\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/evil-hillary2-270x300.jpg?resize=270%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/evil-hillary2.jpg?resize=270%2C300&amp;ssl=1 270w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/evil-hillary2.jpg?w=407&amp;ssl=1 407w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 270px) 100vw, 270px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Between March and September, the self-described energy consultant sent at least a half-dozen requests for Trump, as he turned from primary candidate to party nominee, or for members of his team to meet with Russian officials. Among those to express concern about the effort was then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort\u2026<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Ah HA!! Proof! Quick! Call our contacts with the Mueller witch hunt team!! They will want to ask some pointed questions of Manafort before they take him out and shoot him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>&#8230;who rejected in May 2016 a proposal from Papadopoulos for Trump to do so. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/triple-facepalm.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-18887\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/triple-facepalm-300x161.jpg?resize=300%2C161\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/triple-facepalm.jpg?resize=300%2C161&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/triple-facepalm.jpg?resize=500%2C268&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/triple-facepalm.jpg?w=665&amp;ssl=1 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The exchanges are among more than 20,000 pages of documents the Trump campaign turned over to congressional committees this month after review by White House and defense lawyers. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>What? Who said they could review these incriminating documents? They should have just handed them to our good Democrat friends. They would have made sure all the exculpatory documents were \u201cmisplaced.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The selection of Papadopoulos\u2019s emails were read to The Post by a person with access to them. Two other people with access to the emails confirmed the general tone of the exchanges and some specific passages within them. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>More \u201cAnonymous\u201d sources? Since these documents actually help Trump, I\u2019m surprised that they didn\u2019t burn the sources. In any case, we have someone else we can use to \u201cGET TRUMP!!\u201d It\u2019s this guy Papadopoulos. Mueller\u2019s trained inquisitors should have no trouble breaking him.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com\/originals\/8a\/f4\/61\/8af4613e523fe3c4b63c96f220f22a40.png?resize=358%2C266&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"358\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Papadopoulos emerges from the sample of emails as a new and puzzling figure in the examination of the Trump campaign\u2019s contacts with Russian officials and their proxies during the 2016 election, now the subject of a special-counsel investigation. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Not to worry, the Washington ComPost\u2019s crack team of <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\"><i>fake<\/i><\/span> news <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\"><i>manufacturers<\/i><\/span> investigators will quickly learn everything there is to know about him, and then drive him insane with long stories on when he was potty trained. We will also find out when he started working for the <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\"><i>Soviet KGB<\/i><\/span> Russian FSB.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Less than a decade out of college, Papadopoulos appeared to hold little sway within the campaign, and it is unclear whether he was acting as an intermediary for the Russian government, although he told campaign officials he was. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Oh goody!! Now we have PROOF! He was working for the Russians and Trump!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>While the emails illustrate his eagerness to strengthen the campaign\u2019s connections to the Russian government, Papadopoulos does not spell out in them why it would be in Trump\u2019s interest to do so. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Because TRUMP!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>His entreaties appear to have generated more concern than excitement within the campaign, which at the time was looking to seal the Republican nomination and take on a heavily favored Hillary Clinton in the general election. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>So basically, they saw this guy as a risk to Donald Trump, doing things that he shouldn\u2019t be doing? But, we know that Trump was colluding with the Russians!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>But the internal resistance to Papadopoulos\u2019s requests is at odds with other overtures Trump allies were making toward Russia at the time, mostly at a more senior level of the campaign. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>And where is the proof? Oh, it was Trump Jr. taking a meeting with a Russian Clinton\/Democrat operative to allegedly get dirt on Felonia von Pantsuit. When he found out she was full of it, he bailed out on the meeting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/fbi-conducted-predawn-raid-of-former-trump-campaign-chairman-manaforts-home\/2017\/08\/09\/5879fa9c-7c45-11e7-9d08-b79f191668ed_story.html?utm_term=.37c5f4275454\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manafort<\/a> attended that Trump Tower session in June 2016, a meeting now under scrutiny in the special counsel\u2019s collusion inquiry. But the new emails reveal that Manafort had rejected a request from Papadopoulos just the previous month to set up a meeting between Trump and Russian officials. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>And that has already blown up in the faces of investigators, no matter how hard the manufacture \u201cEvidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.pinimg.com\/originals\/54\/eb\/3d\/54eb3dda21d42dbc8d7dff5043ccfbfb.jpg?resize=365%2C320&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"365\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The story returns to the Washington ComPost\u2019s patented innuendo, rumors and outright falsehoods. This information blows a very large hole in the whole collusion story. We have a junior campaign staffer who was trying to get Trump or his senior people to talk with Putin, and they flat out shut him down. The only shocking thing about this story, is that it was published by the Washington ComPost. Usually they spike stories like these. I guess the person who normally kills stories like this was on vacation or out sick.
